🚨 YO! If you're installing this oven, I highly recommend a ventilation system. Sometimes my oven isn't able to stay at 350° for lack of good ventilation. I currently use a usb fan to blow on it. If I had to do it again, I would try and make something that vents directly to the outdoors, instead of the hole on the side. Or install a computer fan behind the oven.
Following the example of Wandering Woods, I installed a Camp Chef Outdoor oven in my camper van. I made a video to describe its major features and provide pointers on installation. You can get detailed information on how to install this oven from the original blog post on www.wanderingw...
I recommend a camper oven for anyone who appreciates:
• Eating frozen food
• Thoroughly warmed sandwiches
• Meal Prepping
Those bullet points are mainly how I use my oven. For instance, when I’m tired and only want to hang-out, I’ll turn on the oven and defrost a stouffer’s frozen lasagna. Another advantage of the oven is that it allows you to meal prep faster, I'm able to bake potatoes and fry steak simultaneously.
The Camp Chef isn’t the largest oven, but is certainly an upgrade from a 2 burner stovetop. At $250 its more affordable than the cheapest Dometic cooktop alternative($450.) I recommend this product whole-heartedly, though I warn you that you will need to do extra planning to fit the oven safely into your kitchen.

I think I could get comfy. I never even knew you could get an oven like that. We'll have to save for it, but it would definitely make life better since my husband and I love homemade bread. I'm in the process of planning a build, working on the kitchen counter/features now. Happy that I found this video! Seeing as this is designed to be a standalone/portable unit, what did you do to securely mount it? Or is that an option already accounted for with this oven's design and installation instructions? I'm very glad you took the time to do proper insulation in the space; that's something I hadn't considered and will now add into my plans!

I bought a 21' travel trailer in July 2022...new. My RV is off-road built with a slide-out and full bath with a large shower. I took the queen bed out and put in a double Sealy hybrid bed....which gave me awesome space. Love the bed (it has a real nice bamboo mattress covering). And I'm 24V solar powered, which runs everything, including my A/C. The person who designed my RV must have been a man who designed this for hunters and fishermen; as I have a 2 burner stovetop, but have a HUGE sink designed to clean fresh kill. No oven in here, so I've been actively searching for an oven, and this oven looks like one that would work nicely. Thank you for the specs and price of this oven.....I will remove my microwave and put this oven in it's place, then put the microwave where the TV is, then rewire in the bedroom area for the TV & blu-ray player. Then, my kitchen will be perfect.😉😁 I'd love to see your video on installation of this oven, too. Oh.....and in August, I am taking out the dining area and putting in a wood stove with flashing and cement board, with a removable flue/smoke stack. I'll put an igloo table and wingback chair where the second fininv booth is....cozy. With a woid stove, I won't need to use my propane heat as much next winter, here, in Idaho.😅 Yes.....Ive been living year round in my RV for almost 2 years. I live the freedom, and living off-road gives me a lot of options hiding in the mountains....especially when the SHTF....😉❤ Thank you again.....God bless you in all your future endeavors!💗

@peggythevan8294
@peggythevan8294 3 года назад
😂 kindling ! I’ve since installed a paper towel holder that presses against the roll- so I ‘never’ have to worry about it unrolling and igniting. Haha I wish I had an EXACT answer for you about the length. The problem is that it depends! How much airspace do you want between it and other things? Are you factoring on including the walls on the side? Some people expose the side of the oven to help cool it. Maybe you want to too? Simple but naive answer: the width of the oven without handles(21.25inches) + 2x(space of air on one side (minimum 1 inch)) + 2x(thickness of the heatproof material(1/4inch as I remember)) + 1x(thickness of the plywood siding(3/4 inch in my case)) ~= 24.5inches ! Haha maybe not actually a naive answer that sounds close to what I have in actuality 😂

@vovachkanikolsky3092
@vovachkanikolsky3092 3 года назад
You have MAJOR safety problems with your propane! Your propane tank should not be in a drawer rolling around. It needs to be in a vented locker. Very easy to make. Vent needs to go outside of van through floorboard in 3/4 in inside diameter pvc pipe. Also your carbon monoxide detector needs to be mounted on the floor near your vent box. Carbon monoxide is much heavier than air. If a leak develops, the propane needs to drop out the bottom of the vented locker out of the van. Having the detector up at the ceiling of the van is not going to alert you of a problem until the van has enough gas in it to explode.
@priestesslucy3299
@priestesslucy3299 2 года назад
Carbon Monoxide isn't explosive. You're thinking of propane. Which probably won't even trigger the detector. But it does stink really badly from additives that are put in propane so people know when it's leaking

Where should you place CO detectors? If you're not sure of where to install CO detectors, you're not alone. Carbon monoxide detectors aren't as common as smoke alarms, leaving many people guessing on where to place them. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says proper carbon monoxide detector placement is "on each level of the home and outside sleeping areas." For more specific spots, it's important to understand how carbon monoxide works. It's produced by flame sources or fuel-burning machines such as fireplaces, furnaces, gas driers, water heaters and vehicles. The gas is a slightly lighter than air and will rise, which can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning. The best place for a CO detector is on a wall roughly five feet from the floor, where it can measure the air at a height that people in the house are breathing it. A reasonable alternative is placing the detector on the ceiling and six inches from the wall.

You do know that carbon monoxide kills. Don’t you.? This oven should NEVER be fitted in a motor home/rv/camper van. It’s only good for out door use bud. You’re taking in carbon emissions 😢😪😬 NOT GOOD ☠️🏴‍☠️🤭😬🙈
