I was the first project coordinator in my store to sell Airo, and it was to a lady who needed a hypoallergenic option but didn't want to do a solid surface. I was speaking to my rep about why Airo didn't move, as it seemed to be a neat option for some folks, and installers. His answer, "we marketed it wrong. We focused on the installation aspect of it, trying to sell it as an easier option for installers. Since you don't have to stretch it in, and it doesn't need a pad. Installers don't like new things though, they rejected it." They are planning on relaunching Airo with Smartstrand I heard.
I really appreciate your content. You bring up some really good points, and I’m glad I found your channel before replacing my carpet. My house was rented for many years before I purchased it, and I inherited the carpet that the last owner had for his tenants…straight off of the roll at Lowe’s! I hate it so much, but I don’t want to replace it with the wrong product. You’ve given me valuable info to consider. Thanks! 😊
QUESTION: I have concrete subflooring. Can Airo be installed on top of concrete, or does some kind of barrier or other flooring have to be laid down prior to installation? Thank you for your informative vids. Well done. Subscribed.
Thanks for watching! Yes you can absolutely install this directly over concrete. You just want to make sure the concrete is level and smooth, but you install Air.O right over the concrete with no underlayment.
Hi Robert- Great info - I wished I could choose. For my new home ready end of this year, we upgraded to Shaw Ornamental Gate carpet with thicker padding vs standard Shaw carpet w/3/8” padding since second floor has all bedrooms and getting carpet. Hubby does suffer from allergies. How many times do I need to vacuum to get rid of factory dust and then weekly vacuuming would be good to reduce dust? Thanks
Sounds like you are asking for medical advice for a medical condition. If this were me, I would reach out to your husband's allergsist & immunology specialist and ask him/her which vacuum cleaner they recommend (likely one with a HEPA filter) and which indoor HEPA filter they recommend, especially in the bedroom. I know what my allergist recommends, but that might be different for your husbands medical issues.
Polypropylene emits voc's. A carpet salesman in Johannesburg had to place his samples in a sealable tote. Perhaps a prewashed persian or a 100 percent wool is best.
Coming soon! Ive been recovering from surgery and playing some catch up but I'll put the wool one as top priority for this month. Look for it in the next couple of weeks
