@@somecatonyoutube the solder wire has a layer of a material that helps it to help to get an uniform shape (for a better "fit"). The fire dissolve it, and as u can see, the (Stannum probably) solder wire gets a spherical shape before the layer fall out, thus fulfilling its role. Sorry for my English. I'm not a native speaker.
The thing that impresses me most is just how weird things sound in slow motion. Like if you only listened to the sound there is no way you could guess what it was that actually made the sound! I also learned that apparently welding wire has some kind of oil or something in it? I don’t really understand why but it is neat that I saw something I never seen before!
The sound design on this video is incredible, after watching a SlowMo Guys video a while ago about the sound in slow motion recording being non existent, I've always been amazed by the lengths some people go to make it sound real, when it isn't.
I was thinking, no way this sound like big things. But at same time I was so angry it didn't sound fake anytime so I can really prove myself. I had to see it in the comments hahaha
Took me out of it a little but I appreciated the effort taken. Some worked with it... some didn't. I stopped halfway through to put on some relaxing soft jazz because I thought it would fit the theming better for me to enjoy it more.
@@Fabrustin i actually felt like nothing was really synchronized and it kinda ruined the expierence because the sounds were just too overtop. It felt like over dramatic voice lines or music in a none dramatic situation like in some bad movies or games...
Forget the ASMR, it's just incredibly satisfying AND fascinating to watch the properties of these materials and how they respond to heat/pressure/etc. on a small, slowed down scale!
That and the sound design is brilliant, personally my favorite part since it makes me think of what they couldve possibly used to make the sounds they make
The fake sounds added afterward were a little much. Edit: I'm surprised how many people liked and replied to a comment of mine I completely forgot about, lol. Apart from a few exceptions, everyone's opinion on this has been interesting.
I think a lot of them are great Foley work / sound designs. Since slo mo sound isn't really a thing I love hearing how designers try to meet our expectations for what we think slo mo sounds like. Besides you could watch it muted if it's uncomfortable.
