What was not mentioned about Hayate, which quickly became one of my new favorite DDs in the game as a DD-main, is the guns have (obviously) IJN HE. They hit extremely hard and the fire chance (9%) is very high for a DD. I personally think its greatest weakness is, despite being a strong gunboat (and should be specced only for guns, including AFT), its rather slow rudder and large turning circle, which makes this boat vulnerable to enemy torpedoes, especially if you hunt DDs with better concealment. Medium range the Hayate can deal with pretty much every enemy DD, with a very few exceptions, thanks to the very high alpha damage. Hayate is the strongest hybrid DD and one of the strongest gunboats at T10 right now. One nice gimmick that I often use with great success is the torpedo reload booster. I use it right at the start of the game and torp caps or buff zones as soon as the torpedo range covers the target area. Enemy DDs often don't expect torpedoes so soon at game start, which often takes them off guard and I land surprising often torp hits on DDs that rush into caps. You have to know the usual capping spots (or path to intercept them) where DDs go to make it work though.

Really nice video and probably the most comprehensive version of the coal ship list. I agree with you 99.9% on your list as I own all but one of these ships and see the impact of the ships as you do 🙂 .

Mostly coal ships are not that bad. But some are not strong either but they are still OK, ships(here I am talking about C tier which is satisfactory/average)

Don’t listen to bad comments about your mic quality; I thought it was mostly fine with some very short moments of wierd rss in a solid 3 hr video. Good overview, o my missing out on Hayate! Great little hybrid DD especially after the recent buffs, the thing is NUTS.

Coal per month, figure 3 coal containers a day being around 1600 every day. Then 12000 from the battle pass if they keep it about the same, but it is developing. So 12000+ (30x1600) or 48000= 60000 coal per month not counting other free stuff WG puts out for free. So 720000 coal per year. so what of the tier 10's per year. Also remember the clan buffs for coal income.

Do you recommend the Groningen if I have the kitakaze? Specifically for ranked, I don't know if it's worth it or I'd better buy the kearsarge. Pls, help me.

Groningen is really Strong Destroyer, but if you have kitakaze, it will give similar experience in terms of firepower(but remember no torpedos on groningen) but now you have 5 km hydro to push into enemy destroyers and a great defensive tool from torpedos which kitakaze doesnot. If you really like battleships specially sniping battleships while also have some experience in aircraft carriers, I think kearsarge is a better pick than groningen. If you ask me personally, I pick Kearsarge first then groningen, since you have kitakaze which is a really strong destroyer as well.

Duke of York dont have 5 guns in front and 3 in the back, but it has 6 guns in front and 4 guns in the back. It has 1 turret of 4 guns in front and in the back but it has 1 turret with 2 guns extra in front. So FRONT: 1*4 and 1*2 and BACK: 1*4

Yeah, it was a mistake in talking about the turrets. But its an Ok ship in my opinion. For new players, its not a bad pick. But there are way many better options.

There is nothing strange about Italian BB not having SMOKE, if it would be cruiser or Destroyer it would have a smoke for sure.

I have enough coal saved up to literally buy any ship on the list. Originally, I was saving for the Black, but I keep thinking about the Forrest Sherman or Groningen instead. Haven't played anything with such a low reload time, though, and my fear is that some of the potential DPM will be lost when trying to shoot and maneuver at the same time. The 3.3 seconds of the Black may be more manageable than the 1.5/1.8 of the other two, making the realized DPM more on par. Am I wrong? The Holland is the closest tech tree ship at 2.0s, but I don't know if I want to grind that just to find out.

Groningen just from the pure firepower experience is better than black, but the sherman gets up one more notch from groingen due the absurd SAP damage you can do when getting broadsides of cruisers/battleships and killing destroyers. Overall, all three destroyers are really good picks but the black is powerful because of the radar/smoke combo, not from its gun power. So pick accordingly.

Interesting, good job and like all of these it's subjective. Overall good. Played since Beta so IMHO However I wouldnt put the Sherman as broken. Its good at what it does but does has some pretty big draw backs and it's not just the ship it's self but how it fits into the game and winning said game as a team. It turns like a brick, it's not a great cap contester due to its concement and has only a few torps with awful angles. I have it and don't get me wrong it's very good, but it's not the next level. You spot it easy and it gets focused hard as it's big and turning is bad. It's a spammer not a game winning ship necessary. The Napoli would be the broken ship IMHO, hence why it's constantly used in CBs. Tanky as hell cruiser with smoke, hard hitting guns, long range torps, fighter plane and great secondaries.

I know it is your opinion but i think it is kinda overestimated T7 Flint and underestimated T7 Lazo : I only play PVE Operation ( too tired for toxic player in pvp) ,Flint has good DPM,as long as no bot aiming at you at 12km (which is not the case in pve since bots will mostly aim for the closest ship, nuke you up in HE rain from DD or Citadel from BB) ,limited use of Smoke wont help at the late game,120mm with 5 secs reload probably kill most DD in combat,but to CA and BB -not so much On the other hand,Soviet HE Spammer will burn everything at 20km provided that you are not run straight into enemy due to it high detect and paper armor, keeping distance is the key, Torpedo is only the last resort in close combat, The high shell arc help your shell elevate over terrain, Lazo required a lot of aiming and teamwork to make good use of it

Malta is almost an S Tier, its just having really bad armor and not really decent enough AA which pull it to borderline overpowered carrier.

Sherman is unfortunately very strong as a selfish damage farming ship. Its this nature and sluggish in general with no speed boost can downtier for some players from S to A tier. But it is SUPER FUN, specially if you have halsey legendary captain on it.
