Nice. My ZV1 has the Ulanzi WL1, is in the Smallrig full cage and has the Rode Wireless Go receiver attached. All on my Crane M2 and it is all a perfectly working setup. I 'm not changing a thing. Jeff (Papaw)
Perfect combo would be vlogging w/ Sony ZV-1 & Ulanzi Wl1 you reviewed a few months ago (I think?). Won't need cropped active stab, hence finally people can vlog at a focal length many desire.
When I try the inception mode it turns some but beeps and then auto shuts off. I'm using a NOTE 9 but the gimbal can handle up to 1.98lbs so it's likely not due to the weight.
You'd really have to get the weight of both and see how they compare on the payload. To be honest, I doubt it, but don't have the sigma weight off the top of my head
I was looking exactly for something like this, thanks a lot... My first choice was Crane ME but it's not capable to handle my XT4 with a lense but this is perfect
Can you Help me? A Yellow/BLUE light can stop blinking. Manual Info its in Chinese. Gimble doesn't Works with The buttons and The app. Maybe its something related with The Lights.
Can any owner with android phone tell me, if the mimic motion feature is in the android app too? (The picture in the play stores shows no button like that. Either it is iphone only, or they didn't update the pictures.)
Hi Vic, I'm using the crane m2, which is great overall, but I'm a bit disappointed with the WiFi on the ZV-1. The gimbal can control the record button/zoom on the ZV-1 and does this over WiFi, however having WiFi enabled both dims the screen on the ZV-1, and deactivates face/eye AF in 4k mode! Come on Sony! What puzzles me is that the gimbal could have been made to control the ZV-1 via Bluetooth, which would have solved this and the dimming issue.
Hey Mark, yeah. It’s frustrating. Personally, I don’t really use the gimbal camera controls. Maybe it’s just a muscle memory thing for me but either way I get it. I doubt they’ve made changes to this in firmware 2.0 but have you updated the camera AND the gimbal just on the off chance there is an improvement
@@VicBarry I updated the camera yesterday for the usb streaming capability (thanks for the video!) but it's still the same unfortunately, and the gimbal is up to date too. The AF is still great without the eye AF so it's not a massive deal, just seems odd that having WiFi on would take so much power to mean certain features need to be turned off. Perhaps it would overheat too much? In any case, eye AF does work with 1080p 50fps so maybe I'll use that instead 🙂
HI Vic, I am considering two gimbals for the Sony ZV-1. One is the Moza Mini-P, which seems to offer a lot of versatility as it looks like it would work very well with my smartphone and the ZV-1. I have some pause though, as the Sony ZV-1 is not on the compatibility list. The similar Sony RX is on their list. Does that mean that functions like starting and stopping video will not work with the ZV-1?
Hi Vic. If I were to use this with my ZV-1 then what would happen if the camera auto shut/lens retracts after a while of inactivity. I know the lens doesn’t weigh much but does it throw off the balance? Otherwise it would be a pain to keep rebalancing.
Hey Sandeep, yeah, it'll throw the balance off if the lens retracts, probably not a huge amount, but once you power on and go again, the gimbal and camera will / should be back to it's initial balanced state
Love your reviews. I just got a ZV1 and was wondering which camera functions the different gimbals will control and how the do it? Some seem to use Blutooth and others USB-C. Have you compared or is there a list of which camera functions can be controlled from the different gimbals?
@@VicBarry how would attach the cable? The only way the ZV1 can be mounted is so that you can’t really use the mic jack, the charger jack and so on. I’ve tried to mount it on the L thing on the other side but then the camera faces one of the motors. :(
The Moza is a typical Chinese junk product. I tried to use it with a phone and a small point and shoot camera and it often gets twisted up. When I go for low shots, it jams and vibrates. It's not really that smooth and jerks a little going side to side, and really cumbersome to disassemble. I just put it in a towel in my backpack instead of the case. Overall, stay away from the Moza Mini P.
