The Best Compostable Cases For the iPhone 13

So we dug up all the compostable cases that we buried a year ago. We weren’t sure what to expect as the area that we buried the compostable iPhone cases in is quite dry and hot during the summer months. Between the Pela Case, Incipio Organicore, Wilma Eco Essential, Casetify Conscious, UAG Outback and Caseable Eco Friendly, the case the degraded the most was the product from Casetify.
Now a year ago, we rated every product in the ground based on iPhone usability. The Top 3 ended up being the Incipio Organicore, UAG Outback and Casetify Conscious.
After taking into account how well the cases compost, here's the Top 3 list:

Now out of the all the cases we pulled out of the ground, there was clearly two groups. Cases that crumbled and ones that looked like they were left outside for a year. If we factor in compostability into the scoring system, the Casetify Conscious ends up being the best product. BUT Casetify doesn’t make the product anymore (they have the Ultra-Compostable which we haven’t tested yet).
So the Best Compostable Case for the iPhone 13? Is going to be the Incipio Organicore. It’s a thicker case so it will offer more protection than most compostable cases but it still suffers from a color problem.

It's really helpful to know that some of compostable cases actually do decompose. Although, the comparison might not be fair, as some of the cases seemed to have larger contacting surface with the soil than others, and these ones are likely to decompose faster?

Interesting video! I love how you guys go the extra mile with your reviews! 👍🏼 I’ve got, maybe an odd question. Can you connect an external CD drive to a iPad mini 6, & will it work? I just found a bunch of music cds, & would like to transfer them to the iPad. Can this be done without having to use a laptop or desktop? I’m trying to live my life without a computer.

So long as you have an adapter, probably! Like as long as iPadOS recognizes it as a standard usb device. Did you look up reviews or anything?

Pela has a few articles in which they said other companies are green washing and claimed they tried to compost Incipio’s case but it didn’t compost nearly as well as their own. I always felt like it was a bit sketchy so now seeing this update. It somewhat confirms my suspicion which is they are trying to bash other companies and claim they aren’t truly compostable and that their case is the best and the only truly green case. Also they talk about how environmentally friendly they are but ship some cases from Hong Kong so Pela is a no for me from now on. I dropped my phone with my Pela case and well my phone has a dent in the side of it now. Thank you for doing this review so I can possibly either buy a casetify case or go buy an incision organicore case which I used in the past and enjoyed.

I mean this is cool but at the same time this isn’t composting them it’s just hurrying them lol. Compostable means actually composting them so they are in an environment that gets moisture, oxygen, insects. You may not like compostable cases but we as consumers have a responsibility to limit our waste and plastic pollution in our oceans and even the water that we drink and the fish that you guys like to eat. That world sucks and is full of trash and is being destroyed because of companies who don’t care and because of us consumers not giving a crap and just being wasteful.
