Haha, they’re the best protective glasses I’ve worn for downhill. I tried so many other styles until realizing these are the perfect size to block wind and debris from my eyes
Thanks for making this video. I have skated elixir thane and clear thane urchins with this core. I did enjoy the clear urchins very much, I found that the core kept that urethane and shape feeling consistent throughout the life of the wheel down to the last drop. However I was not sold in the shape and core combo of the urchin. Having skated the red elixir thane urchin I found that because it had such a rigid supportive shape that skating wavy pavement or anything with inconsistency allows for the wheel to skip and bounce and hookup rather agressivly and Sharp, unpredictably so. I think it works well with the super destroyable thane but once you get into the harder more reboundy urethane it’s a double edged sword. I think it’s to rigid of a core for free riding if the urethane is hard and that creates and inconsistent, unpredictable slide on anything except perfect pave.
spot-on...I almost want to say that the least a seismic LOOKS it'll slide, the better it actually does. Their proposed slidey wheels have strange window of control IN the slide to me .
I had a set of Urchins that felt great, but when they got smaller the inner lip kinda shredded apart on me and I could feel it flapping about in my slides. Granted I'm only like 130lbs. Loved the feel of the wheel but never got another set after that experience. How have they held up for you?
I think that happened to my friend with his Defcon Urchins, but not his clear thane urchins. I haven’t owned a set, but I tried his set a couple times and was very pleased with them. I didn’t skate them when they were tiny, so maybe Defcon gets weird at small sizes. I hope to pick up a set sometime to find out for sure, or the pink hotspots might give me an answer if I get through them
Would you think some harder duros with this core would be worthwhile to try, due to its shock-absorption properties? edit: by harder duros, I specifically mean something like the 85A Defcon or 92A BlackOps Hot Spots.
I think the two you listed are a little unusual. I think yes, harder duros on this core will generally feel softer that usual, but the 85 and 92 hotspots are really just legacy products for classic cone slalom and cruisers. I personally wouldn’t buy them unless I got a good deal, and even then I’m not sure why I would reach for them instead of a different product. But of course, if you find out, let us know how they are!
@@owencampbell777 I feel like the 3DM 84A BlackOps one will be the best not-low duro Mini-EC core wheel to try. I'll find a chance to try that one in the future!
