In terms of this video for any travel or any flights at anytime, there really isn't a reason to the get an Avion card. You'll do much better with other cards. The Avion cards are good for the initial bonus and are good for converting points to British Airways, WestJet, American Airlines etc. As mentioned in the video, you can increase the value by combining an Avion Card with an ION+ card and while that makes the program better, other cards still do a better job in terms of value for any travel anytime rewards.
Correction: National Bank World Elite Mastercard points can be redeemed against any travel for 0.83 cents per point when redeeming less than 55,000 points, or 0.91 cents per point when redeeming more than 55,000 points. It should now rank much higher in your standings.

Even watching a few of your videos to see what justification signing up for avion, the only reason would be to get the signup bonuses I want to experience booking flights with japan airlines and so far, we can book with that particular airline to japan for points is through american airlines. I’m surprised that amex doesn’t have american airlines as their transfer partner yet

Note to self: read my own reviews of the cards before making these features! I'll make the corrections to the feature - will not be able to update the video but will add it into the description. Outside of the sign up bonus, the conversion options for the Avion are OK as well for the base spend that isn't higher on other cards (Amex, RBC ION etc.) as they will be equal or better when they run their bonuses to British Airways and WestJet. For Japan Airlines, I recommend keeping a close eye on the MBNA Rewards World Elite Mastercard. If the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan conversion option comes in like they promised then this card will be the best option for award flights on JAL.
