Beware if you do a lot of long highway drives. Droning exhausts can honestly give you a headache after an hour or so..and also interferes with your music. I have a 2021 turbo hatch and opted to leave it as is...nonbody is impressed with a 4cyl sound unless you have the full rally style pop and bang😂

All around a great video. Audio and video quality great. Background music pleasant and not loud, and your comfort/chill vibe was easy to enjoy. Your excitement was exciting. Exhaust sounds good as well. P.S. Kinda wish I went with the white/'greige' interior color in my 2019 sedan. The all black gets boring at times.

Omg, I have a civic sport touring hatch and I LOVE it, but the AWD on the 3 is beyond tempting. Thinking the 2.5 turbo, its a similar sticker price to my sport touring. And you just made it 10x more tempting! !!! it sounds mean and I feel like a meaner looking rear diffuser would add to it! My husband is gonna hate me if I switch my car... again 😂

the AWD will DEFINITELY handle better, idk if its snows in your area but if it were to ever snow you won't get stuck and you'll have the power as well since its turbo'd. The Mazda 3 is made pretty well in terms of power to weight ratio so the AWD version will make it even better.

I have a 2021 3 Turbo HB and the exhaust note is non-existent. Listened to so many posts of those who have installed custom and big name exhaust components and IMO NONE of them sounded good. Your relatively inexpensive option is by FAR The Best! Sounds great!

They're suuuuper fun! If it fits the budget, definitely go for a hatch with a turbo. If my hatch had a turbo, I would be even happier with the setup but either way, Mazda 3's are goals 🙏

I would of got the turbo if it came in a standard. I was on route one and one straight piped pulled up next to me and it sounded nice, a bit raspy though without a high flow muffler.

Thank you bro! 🙌 and this is not a magnaflow exhaust, this is a single-chambered exhaust to 2.5" straightpipes to 4" exhaust tips. All made with different parts lol

Good job, this sounds better than most of the cat-back kits I've seen. Normally those short single chamber mufflers are pretty loud-- do you think it works here because your turbo helps to quiet the exhaust?

It actually works so well because I left the resonator in 👍 the sound will not resonate so much because the single chamber muffler will take most of the noise in the rear of the car and the pressure is now to single muffler. Its a weird science but its such a cool mod

Do you know if the single chamber muffler is only for hatchbacks or could i yse it on my sedan (non turbo)? Also does exhaust tip size have anything to do with the noise/tone? Great and quality video.

Thanks for the support! 🙏 So the single chamber muffler is a universal piece and should fit any car. What I would check is where your rear axle is located and your exhaust pipe. The challenge is finding the perfect location that is straight enoough and has space for the the muffler to fit. And The bigger the tip, the deeper BUT it's a slight change in the noise and tone. Hope this helps!

Great sounding exhaust. Nice Bass n Growl without sounding exaggerated. But this Gen of Mazda vehicles have great isolation from outside noise. Does the exhaust sound comes in the cabin a big deal or is it moderate? I have the CX30 2.5 Premium AWD looking to get nice exhaust notes

Thank you someone does something smart when it comes to exhausts. I did something like this but with a chambered resonator and a step up in pipe size heading out ,no muffler and the thing is quiet when you need it and changes to a slightly louder tone up in the revs.

It's really hard to make any 4cyl sound good, Hyundai seems to know how to do it on their N cars, some VW's and Audi's as well. The problem is highway droning...you're going to get some no matter what. Car companies design their exhaust system to limit the drone at the expense of sound when revving at standstill or low speeds. That's why I haven't touched my 2021 Mazda 3 turbo hatch exhaust.

@@itsnorrin Even the best aftermarket exhausts (or the ones that don't eliminate Cats and make your car fail inspection) have a minimal effect on performance, especially on any car made the past 20 years or so. I enjoy my fall roadtrips each year (anywhere from 500-1200 mile round trip) and droning would ruin my peace out on the open road. I took a fairly short 150 mile round trip with a friend who put a Borla exhaust on his V6 Accord (it doesnt drone bro, really!) and started to get a headache within 30 minutes. Sounded great revving around town though.😁

the pipes coming out of the single chamber muffler was supplied by the exhaust shop, just have them weld 2.5" inch straight pipes to the exhaust tips 👍

It really was one of the best mods I made so far to any car! Very inexpensive and the sound is just right 🙏 I believe the shop used aluminum 2.5" straight pipes for the muffler

Definitely measure your muffler to see the dimensions but if you can fit ANY single chambered muffler within the OEM muffler spot, you can always branch 2.5" straight pipes to it 👍

No intake!!! Everything is stock EXCEPT for the exhaust I modded in the video. An intake will definitely have it whistle more, I've heard NA and Turbo 3's whistle more with them on 👍

Hey my man, just updated the link in the description of the video! Yea, my wife hates that raspy sound and this setup will give you a DEEP tone where there is ZERO drone while driving. The only time you here SOME drone is when youre in 2-3 gear and keeping it at a mid-high rpm. I would highly recommend to get the car sounding BEEFY lmao 🤘

Hey, so far the setup has been amazing! I will be making an update video of the setup as well as more mods but the noise level is decent. Minimal drone, only gets loud when you get on it.

Hey man I am planning on doing this same thing to my 21 Mazda 3, so I was just wondering what did you need to bring to the shop when you got the work done? (like muffler, exhaust tips) cuz I only ordered the muffler and exhaust tips and wonder if a shop would need me to bring more. This is my first time doing any sort of mods to a car so I am a bit lost lol

Thats all you need bro! Bring the muffler and tips and the shop SHOULD supply the straight pipe material. Majority of exhaust shops have pipes ready to weld or cut 💪

As long as you can see that there is space neat the axle for the single-chambered muffler to fit, you should be good 💪

I would check the piping location as well as the muffler location and check measurements to see if the muffler would fit in the same position

YES! NOT the turbo model, this is the FWD 1.5 preferred model of the 2019 MAzda 3 hatchback 👍

Hey! So the main things you need are 2.5" straight pipes to connect the OEM exhaust to the new muffler. You also need a SINGLE chambered muffler to replace the OEM muffler you have and then just get any 3"-4" exhaust tips and you should be good! 👍

Minimal to zero drone! Only drone is when you get on the gas, but other than that, the sound in the cabin is not noticeable

Ayyy lets gooo congrats man!!! MPG stayed completely the same and no Check engine lights whatsoever. This set up is really good because youre honestly just improving airflow. But, no leaks (as long as the shop does the welding well) and sound has been broken in a lot so it's sounding better 👍

I don’t think there are any sensors that you’d be messing with by doing this plus I’m certain they use that crazy stock muffler specifically to make the car quieter. I agree with the op that as long as the welds are straight you shouldn’t have any issues
