In this video, I head to the home pond to attempt to break my streak of struggling at this lake. I grew up about 10-15 minutes from Burr Oak, so I usually when I went fishing as a kid, this was the lake we went to. Over the years, I have struggled to catch fish. A good day has been 2 or 3 fish that together the combined weight was around 1 pound. There's good fish in this lake, but they are tough to catch and there are a ton of dinks. I haven’t fished Burr Oak much at all this year but thought I’d give it a try. Going into the day I had a game plan and I executed it to near perfection even with losing 2 more decent fish. The theme of the day was to be different, fish lures that not many people fish at this lake, but still fish in a way that gives me confidence in what I’m doing. I intended on fishing 3 lures and all 3 put fish in the boat. Flipping grass edges with a power shot was the money today. I put several fish in the boat doing exactly that. I also spent time covering water with a jighead minnow (without FFS) and targeting deeper points with a wobble head.
