im still learning to ride, and on schools Honda NC750x i also cant find the 2nd gear, everytime i shift from 1st i go to neutral

Was looking at a mt03 for my first bike. Not sure if I would regret not getting an mt07.

@@siamesefightingfish2861 best thing you can do is test ride both. If you can afford it and can respect the bike, you’ll be fine. I think mine is a perfect amount of power and I don’t do stupid shit on it to abuse that power. I’ve been fine so far 😊

The bite point for the clutch on that bike is way deep it’s why sometimes you don’t shift correctly with the clutch

I did find that two finger use of the clutch meant the travel between the clutch and my other 2 fingers resting on the handlebars was actually right before the bite point. Maybe I need to reassess this finding. Thanks!

What he means by bite point is basically where your friction zone engages. It looks like your friction zone engages ONLY at the last 95-100% of the distance the lever travels when letting it all the way out. You should have it adjusted so your shifting can be more smooth.

@@ChaseFickett Oh I know, but it’s not there. It’s practically right in the middle of the entire travel of the lever at the 50% area. The first 50% (when pulled in) will not move the bike at all till I hit that 50% and it slowly starts to roll forward. If it was 95%, I’d have 0 chance of 2 finger shifting and still holding the handlebar with my other 2 fingers. Conveniently that 50% is enough space to have my fingers be over and under the clutch so I can 2 finger shift. I’ll adjust it though and see if it improves. Cause yeah it’s right on the cusp of comfort

Hey bro, looks like your jerky shifting is because you are dropping the clutch too harshly. Let the clutch out a bit smoother at the last 20-30% or so and the jerky shifting should ease up.

I recommend leaving the phone off the handlebar unless you are using GPS.

@@EMTOHytthat and it could be distracting when screen lights up with notification, think most people are wired to naturally glance at screen when notifications pop up. One second of that could result in accident, specially in corners. Could otherwise make sure you have it in focus mode when u ride to avoid that

@@rorysailor Yeah I feel like half the appeal of riding is feeling one with the bike. Transmission is a big part of that. I really enjoy shifting gears (when I can find them)

How does the suspension feel over bumps in the asphalt or small pits? How does it absorbs them?

@@spring9603 it’s hard to say as I don’t have much reference being new and all, but from other descriptions of other bikes I’ve read/heard, it’s good! I do feel like it doesn’t do well in twistier technical roads, but that could be a skill issue. Like it feels like it can’t stay on a line when going through a corner. It does bounce around on rough unleveled surfaces tho

MT07 = naked bike with power. Power = wind. Naked = no wind protection. So 07 is a bad MC.

@@Derolo808 MT-07 is v good bike. V fun. It’s a commute bike anyway. I don’t feel wind until over 80, and I’m under 80 majority of the time 😊

@@mikeadz1 nothing to do with being scared, I’d say. It’s just a pure comfort thing. When I started, the wind was a lot, but I’m used to it now. But my commute home is 100 for 40 mins which can get a bit tiring especially on windier days which happens. I mainly picked the MT-07 for urban riding. If I figured I was going to be doing higher speeds more often, I’d have gone for an R7

@@sureeyapk2180 MT-07s are on the CP2 which is a twin parallel engine. 2 cylinders. The R7 was actually 2k more brand new vs the MT-07 and I actually like the MT-07 more. It suits the style of riding that I was looking for as I mainly got it so I can commute to work faster and cheaper 😊
