The fact that all his talents are good makes him incredible in chaos wastes. Also makes weapon exchange alters very low risk as all his weapons are good.
I just got back into V2 and discovered your channel. I'm glad you're actively making content (however frequently or infrequently) because it's nice to get hyped over the game from people on RU-vid while I play on my own end too
I'd watch every video you do (idc even what game it'll be or even not a game at all). Because there's two things I appreciate the most - honesty and irony. Your style is epic, I love it!
Stagger is probably one if not the strongest abilities in the game, and footknight just completely abuses it, making him super strong in almost every situation
FK was one of the few classes they re-worked in a meaningful way, and a lot of people still sleep on the class due to things that were changed well over a year ago now. He's an incredible carry and a ton of fun to play. He doesn't need to be played with just a stagger shield build, heck with the spear and shield he can stagger everything with a push and still out DPS most classes in hordes while having one of the best special sniping weapons in the game slung across his back.
100% I still see everyone just thinks oh take shield and bash things however he can do that with basically every weapon and as you stated all the while popping head shots from across the map
this is a rlly good video tbh i never really realized how well FK is designed, especially his skill tree. like now that youve mentioned it im really noticing how well its designed lol, most other careers just have talents at certain levels that are significantly better than the others
Feet are back on the menu, boys When I first started playing VT2 I decided immediately in the prologue I wanted to play Foot Knight. And so it was, a grand adventure began
Love it. Best use of invincibility on the ult is yeeting yourself off a certain-death drop and activating the charge to cancel the fall damage, leaving your teammates wondering what just happened.
Haha thank you. I script some intros like the one to my Pyro vid, but for the most part I just have sort of dot points of what I want to ramble on about maybe write some specific things down and the outros are total rambling of a mad man lol. I’ve tried scripting totally but I just can’t follow one
I love this channel. I keep rewatching these videos despite having stopped playing vermintide about a year ago. I'd watch your stuff even if you were playing other games, or not playing games at all.
Foot knight's ability is so good that Fatshark copy and pasted it onto the Ogryn in Darktide, they even threw in Bull of Ostland! as part of it by default.
@kryptkick441 Honestly I think combat is way way better in Darktide than Vermintide 2, and I feel like VT2 could give me more reasons to play on the higher difficulties (hey why does Cata give you the same exp as recruit I know it doesn't matter after a while, it just seems like an oversight). Everything else VT2 does better though or Darktide does so differently that I don't think they can compare in that aspect.
Somethings are better some things are worse but I just feel it should have been easy to figure out which is which and it would have been an absolute home run. That being said, we’ll get our home run it’ll just take a lot of patches
A lot of people these days are talking about Mainstay, and I've never found a way to make it work, including on Foot Knight. Can you upload a video of using Mainstay on Cata to showcase how to actually use it, because I'm a theory crafter and built an entire team around using it and we all barely managed to crack 20k damage on a +hordes map.
Very interesting I might do some bot runs and have a play around with it see what I come up with. Never really heard anyone say it's no good it's just the general "if no Smiter take Mainstay" mentality
@kryptkick441 Our circle is Assassin; Smiter; Enhanced Power; Bulwark; Mainstay. In that order. I like to say Mainstay exists to reduce the viable options to 2.
@@SmGTwist Sorry for the late reply yt don't give notifications for replies for some reason. I am still yet to test, however, that being said. My opinion is it can beat out EP and even Smiter if specific conditions are met bur firstly lets look at circumstances where it could at least be beneficial. 1 when it comes to ults that put enemies into a stagger state AND they can be used frequently i.e. FK. I think FK is a pertinent example because his ult causes enemies to be in a stagger for a considerable amount of time allowing you to take take advantage of the damage bonus for longer. 2 Weapons which start their most common and/or crowd clear attack pattern with a push. Obviously if you start your attack chain with a push you're going to start your attack chain at 40% bonus. 3 Has to be a low damage weapon because of course the redundancy of Mainstay is caused by the vast amount of enemies in the game being killed in 1-2 hits completely negating it's usefulness. However with these things in mind let's try to formulate a build where it could be useful. Let's go Merc, high cleave has both access to Mainstay and Smiter, his ult while relatively lengthy in CD can be mitigated somewhat by CDR, his level 30 talent and a high cleave weapon. Further we take the Tuskgor Spear which has insane cleave (helped by Merc's passive), insane stagger and relatively low damage (meaning we not gunna be one shotting everyone just because we run Smiter) AND we for the most part start our horde clear attack chain with a push. Combine this with the stagger from spamming his ult and (for hordes at least) we are starting our attacks at a .6 bonus. Also it's low damage and has a very heavy stagger meaning we will require many hits on a high health enemy and hopefully will keep them in the most optimal stagger state while doing so. All in all I think this could be a contender for outshining Smiter but as I said I haven't tested. Of course there is also obvious use cases like Zealot's Hook as using the weapon special gives a guaranteed stagger
That's awesome the whole reason I make these vids is to promote the game which I love so if it contributes to people getting into the game I am pretty happy about that thank you! Best overall tip on getting better is learning to not take damage lol., That sounds simple but there is a lot there. Every monster has a way to avoid its damage completely look up a guide on how to do this and monsters will become a joke to you. Learn the audio cue for specials and take them out as quickly as possible 9/10 runs end in people getting taking out by specials. When you hear a special drop what you're doing and take it out ASAP. Then is comes to the dodge dance. Seriously always be dodging even when you are just attacking in a horde you should be dodging. If you master the dodge you master the game. Then weapon combos it took me far too long to realise how important they are. For what ever weapon you are using look up the corresponding guide on Steam and use the most effective combos it will insanely boost your dps. Hope that helps and thanks for the feedback
Hey krypt this is groundqt on another account I forgot my login and thank you I still love this game thanks to you and I hope we can see some content soon
I loved FK since starting the tutorial. Kruber is my highest lvl class atm (max lvl + 54) since i pretty much only played FK for like 200h and i think it will stay that way cause i don't really like how the other classes play or their weapons too much (Although i do love Ironbreaker and Slayer a lot too). One handed mace is so underrated, i was suprised how hard it goes in chaos waste when i got a decent roll (it wasnt even that great of a roll if im honest)
Footknight is a fantastically designed career with the best build and talent variety. But in a game with so much power creep his main weakness is being well balanced. Merc is the superior class overall with better damage breakpoints and team temp hp generation, but I find him far more boring to play. He has zero talent variety, and there's very little synergy between his best talents and any particular weapon or playstyle. You just take the same thing every time. The Grail Knight is probably the most egregious example of a power creep DLC character in the game - he's just a big, dumb bruiser with a career skill that is both overpowered and incredibly boring, and extremely good passive talents that just sort of happen without any skill on the part of the player.
Yeah that's my main problem with Merc, he literally has one build. Albeit it is a very good build but it gets boring quick. Interesting and true point on GK also. Basically all his talents involve no engagement and therefore more boredom
I remember how bitchy my friends were when i told them i was switching to kruber and that i wasn't going to be their temp health provider or ammo provider. They called me a fool but i shut them up right quick after clutching a few runs with an emergency charge into a horde to pick people up.
Oh man he is the undisputed Clutch King. Not to mention making their life much easier by only having to attack enemies laying on the floor gasping for air
@@kryptkick441 bret sword + x sword, its rly fun Edit: my normal build is 212311, though having swipe on ult (3) is better on higher difficulties, the boss damage makes the brain happy
@@robo-dog-chan887 the outline around his player character, which is foot knight in this case. It's one of the most difficult frames to get, possibly the most difficult.
This is exactly why I main fortnite (according to auto-generated caption). I love charging through a horde and it's hard to choose and stick to one talent as all of them are great and none "outshines" the other. That and Bretonnian Longsword.
@@paulgallagher5889 Yeah he sucks I been trying to work him but no matter what you do there is so much upkeep, so many useless. Further, he gets like 11 Troll hammers! So basically nothing can begin to compete with that and I like original unique builds. I feel if I put out a non Troll Hammer build i'll basically be greifing anyone who follows it lol
