I like Optimum No Rinse. It saves a lot of time. With it, I use Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wet Wax if I need to boost the gloss. When it needs claying I use a clay mitt with the ONR and Wet Wax. I learned this technique from you and I like it very much. I think there must be some synergy between the two products because the slickness and gloss seems better than each product alone. I like Chemical Guys VRP for tire dressing.

The turtle wax ceramic wet wax is an awesome drying aid. The protection isn't super heavy so it's perfect for after every wash.

This will be fun! Where to even start... Let me start by my favorite brands Bilt Hamber Polish Angel Leatherique Carbon Collective Kamikaze And of course we use Gyeon, Sonax, Jescar, some carpro, some other main players that escape my mind. Let’s start with my wash process. Bilt Hamber Touchless & N-914. Taking the best of each world and putting them together, I simply call at the hybrid wash! My dad was a big believer in rinseless, and I was raised to believe so too. I too thought pre-soaps/foam cannons were a waste of time, however, I came across Bilt Hambers autofoam, and their new touchless is even better. Not saying names, but after using touchless, I don’t take any other presoak seriously as I never did. My normal rinseless method would be to apply the rinseless on the entire vehicle through a sprayer, either pressure wash that off if really dirty, or for lighter soiled vehicles just go straight to the sponge. It worked great and always will. But with my foam cannon opened up, I have a 6 foot tall spray pattern and I can circle the entire vehicle in about 30 seconds average covering it with Touchless. While touchless is doing its magic on the body, I scrub the wheels and tires with the appropriate brushes that are also covered in touchless, works better than most APCs. In fact, I find that a APC’s just gets in its way. After I pressure wash off the entire vehicle. On my tests, on both coated and NON coated vehicles Touchless cleans better after just being rinsed off with a garden house compared to most presoaks being sprayed off with a pressure washer! N914 included. Pressure washing touchless off you have a near clean vehicle. So it cleans better, and most importantly, it’s faster to apply. My pressure washer is modified so it dispenses soap under high pressure application. So as I’m rinsing touchless off N914 is being applied. From there, the typical rinseless wash is carried out. How long does my wash take on average? We clock about 13 minutes one man, with two men it’s about a 9 minute process. And because the vehicle was 99% cleaned by touchless before even doing the rinseless, the water in the rinseless bucket is still crystal clear after the wash, so we dunk a couple microfiber’s in there, squeeze them out, and now we have a free interior cleaner as well. For drying aids and LSPs I enjoy everything by Polish Angel. I love Kamikaze Ceramics, but have recently been messing with Carbon Collectives coatings and they are amazing as well. I don’t go over different brands with clients as it confuses them and at the end of the day they really don’t care. I just offer them an entry, and premium option. Going back to Bilt Hamber, I use their entire anticorrosion lineup for vehicle under sides, aviation, and marine duties. They are truly phenomenal protection. Surfex HD is obviously my APC of choice, Autowheel for heavily soiled wheels, and Korrosol for my iron remover. All of these are at the top of their class. I’m not saying all this about Bilt Hamber because I’m a fan boy, I’m a fan boy because these products work so great. For paint correction, I use jescar compound and Sonax perfect finish for the most part. These two teamed up will do any car. No need for 5, 6 or 7 polishes on the shelf. I’m both a FLEX and Rupes fan, each have their pros and cons. We have 3 of the Red Beast Inside edition 3401’s. Number 38, 316, 469. And both Flex and Rupes rotaries and a couple LHR21’s, 75E, and a couple Carbon Collective Nanos.

I'm closer to 50 than 40 and until recently, I'd never even hand washed a car before. I was one of those guys who ran my car through the automated machine or paid some detailer at the mall to wash the car so that I got good parking close the exit. I bought a new car two months back and decided I would do my own ceramic coating. I watched far, FAR more hours of videos from Yvan, Pan, the Rag Company guys, and Brian from Apex, than I care to freely admit, but I was confident I could pull it off. Added complexity was that our townhouse complex has a "no running water" bylaw so I had to go fully rinseless. I used ONR in an IK Multi Pro 2 Sprayer for a pre-rinse and some ONR with the Ultimate Black Sponge to do a contact wash. I then dried the car with the Rag Company Gauntlet - I have a couple. At that point I went for a chemical and manual decon using some Australian-based products, Bowden's Own "Three Way" and their "Claying Rubber". Once I was done, I hit the car again with the IK Sprayer and ONR, then did another ONR w/ UBS contact wash to get everything off. Dried the car again with the Gauntlet and did a full run over the vehicle with Gyeon Prep, just in case. The car is a metallic red color and the paint was in terrific condition out of the dealership. I'm not interested in it being ABSOLUTELY perfect, so the idea of taking on polishing at this point just intimidated me too much for the very minor benefit that I couldn't even see from five feet away from the car. Finally, I put down a layer of Gyeon Can Coat EVO. To my surprise, even in the tight space of my garage, terrible lighting, and poor ventilation, the Can Coat coating when down flawlessly. The next morning in the sun outside I found one or two high spots that I buffed out quickly with the Gyeon towel. Subsequent to that, I've been doing ONR rinseless washes and will hit it with the Gyeon Ceramic Detailer product maybe once a month as a drying aid after a rinseless wash. It's been a blast playing with all this stuff - I now have a new hobby!

I can totally relate to many of your statements (closer to 50 than 40, used to run through a car wash, watching many of hours of professional detailers on RU-vid, no running water policy at condo complex, etc.). I thought I was reading my own post 😂. I’ve been detailing my car for a couple of months now and am going to install a ceramic coating. Thanks for sharing!

I light Carpro products inside and out, but gravitate toward Apex Metal Oxide and Ammo Reflex Pro for coatings. Over time I’ve gravitated from most APC’s in the interior to Ammo Lather . Still use a lot of MultiX and Optimum power clean. Inside windows it’s a 15% IPA , cuts the grease leaves nothing behind. Tires and wheels it just depends on how lightly or heavily they are soiled. I like Lake Country and Rupes pads, 3D1 and TW one and done, Sonax polishes, Angel Wax perfect polish and Carpro essence for jeweling. Love my Big Boi blower and Lake Country system 4000 pad cleaner. Panel wipes for coatings by the manufacturer or Gyeon.

Not just same stuff in different dilutions but they try to make one product to cover whole bunch of stuff with real performance behind it. They really inovate and actually manufacture their own stuff - so they are not just "a label". I highly recomend them

Product list TL;DR: UBS, ONR, N914, OPT Power Clean, Brake Buster, OPT Car Wax, Ceramic Opti-Seal, Sonax BSD, 303 aerospace protectant, ultra clay towel, a twist loop drying towel!, iK’s multi pro and foam pro 2! Wheel and body brush, chemical guys total interior, and Turtle Wax’s branded 3 gallon bucket with proprietary grit guard 💂‍♀️ My routine wash is always *ONR* or *N914* with the *ultra black sponge*, a bucket, and a grit guard of course! Strangely enough one of my items is a specific bucket. Go to any target and they have a *Turtle Wax branded bucket* that’s 3 gallons, has a wide mouth, and the proprietary grit guard sits very low to the bottom so even after filling up my iK multi pro 2 (another great product!) there’s plenty of water left to wash with, or even top off your sprayer! I’ll top my tires off with whatever spray dressing I’ve got nearby, they all work. On the inside it’s gonna be a rinseless towel, some power clean 20:1, or CG total interior. Use whatever you like and have fun :)

I am absolutely sold on McKee's 37 N-914 Rinseless wash! As a father of 3 young boys, time is ALWAYS of the essence and N-914 gives me a quick way to wash my Honda Odyssey and give it that "10-foot clean and shiny look". I use it as a rinseless wash, waterless wash (paint, wheels, tires, interior, EVERYWHERE!!), clay lubricant and even tried it as paint prep! P&S Brake Buster is my go-to for more extensive wheel/tire cleanups. Love Koch Chemie Green Star as an APC for dissolving road grime on paint, cleaning rubber mats, engine bay and as a general purpose cleaner in the garage. P&S Bead Maker "makes" the list as my preferred paint sealant for ease of application, low cost, great shine and slickness! Gyeon Wet Coat for quick spray and rinse protection when doing a full blown foam wash using CarPro Reset (also my favorite car shampoo), finally CarPro IronX does a great job for chemical decontamination! That's it!

Artdeshine NGC. Truly an amazing coating from durability to slickness. Doesn’t clog easily like others if any and doesn’t get water spotted easily. In my opinion, the price tag on some products are worth it. If a lesser priced product takes you multiple passes or a lot of usage to achieve a result vs the higher priced product that gets the desired result quickly with less usage are you really saving? If a product saves you time it makes you money.

Yvan I enjoyed meeting you at ‘18 SEMA when you were at ONR booth. Since then your no-BS approach to detailing and the detailing business is refreshing. Ok…for APC I use 3D Super Citrus at 1:45! Wheels , tires, decontamination washes, sometimes upholstery, etc. The dilution saves $$. Totally into Koch Chemie polishes/compounds. Usually with KC pads. Rupes wool pads are the bomb with KC heavy cut. ADG Wipeout for rinseless. Wipeout at 1:10 is a great clay lube. I clay with a cordless Flex buffer with Nanoskin pad. Tool in one hand and sprayer with lube in the other. You can fly - with excellent results. Now getting into GYEON coatings--cave man easy with stellar results.

Yvan had me scratching my head because the only product he endorses is the Lake Country Pad cleaning system. There are so many amazing products out there we as detailers are truly blessed. For soaps I gravitate towards CarPro, Koch Chemie, and Apex by Phoenix. For polishes I use Koch Chemie, Phoenix Papa and Fab, and Meguiars 110 and 210. For pads I basically use Rupes and Lake Country. For coatings I seem to stick with Artdeshine and Phoenix! For interior work I use Koch Chemie Greenstar and Polstar for cleaning. I have been using Artdeshine for interior coatings (I almost feel coating the interior is more beneficial than coating the exterior). For the wheels I use Meguiars Non Acid wheel and tire cleaner. The product which makes my life easier is Titan by Phoenix. I have used this in a wet method just like Gyeon Wetcoat with amazing results. I would like to share my products which I use. When it comes to car shampoo - I use ONR but now I'm going to use N914 and compare it. For now I can only say that I love its apple smell. I like APC from Koch Chemie - Green Star. You can get great result with it. Optimum Power Clean is also extremely good. Few days ago I started to use Turtle Wax 'wax it wet' as my drying lubricant (I know, it's not necessary with rinseless wash). Cheap price but it's not bad product in my opinion. I can get same results as with some expensive quick detailers - shiny and protected car. I also want to test Turtle wax new product line with graphene. I forgot to mention - I don't have my detailing business, I'm just a "Sunday detailer" and it's my hobby 😁

Question here: the space between my dashboard and my front windshield is really tight (i have a 2021 mazda 3), how can I clean the very edge of the dash where the two surfaces meet? As well as how can I put interior dressing all the way there? Thanks!!

Yvan doesn’t name brands so i will haha invisible glass makes something called the “reach and clean” tool. You attack microfiber towels or bonnets to it. You can use this to clean the windshield and dust your dash :)

Great idea! Though I wonder if RU-vid is the correct format for this. Let's try! Optimum No Rinse: of course! Saves a bit of time and effort in the washing proces, seems to be safer and makes drying easier. Great interior cleaner that leaves no residue on plastic and leather surfaces. Also use it in my pad washer and it's the best glass cleaner that will ever exist. Optimum Hyper Polish; easiest Polish to ever exist and probably the best as well. You can't go wrong and with the correct polisher and pad you can still have great cut. With the Zentool 21e2 and rupes blue whool, I can pretty easily remove 2000 grit, 1500 even if I sand carefully and polish some more. Easy wipe-off, you can polish trim and it gives as deep a shine as anything out there. It's bad boy sibling Intensive polish is the best polish you can use on weathered white vans, but is sometimes a bit more tricky to use. ONR on the pad and car helps. Hyper Compound has given me SO MUCH problems, it's unbelievable. It feels like an unfinished prototype! But when it works, it cuts like nothing else. Zentool 21e2: the most balanced DA polisher out there (well, except for all rotaries). It's 10 times more balanced than the Rupes 21M3 (owned and sold), using Rupes pads. Quieter as well and lighter. I can use it all day with no ill-effects. Seems to cut more than the Rupes as well and is easier to use (pad rotation. Can have great cut and still finish perfectly. Really curious whether the new Optimum DA will improve on this! It does tend to run a bit hot, even at speed 3-4 & no pressure. Rupes blue whool 6': I rarely use anything else. Leaves a bit of micro-marring on the softest of paints (like b-pillars). But the cut is off the charts. It saves me a lot of time, but sadly the foam tears and lasts for 20 cars max. So I'm looking for a sturdier alternative! MF Scrub mitt: The #1 tool to clean upholstery stains. Way better and easier than using a rotary or DA!! At least in my experience. Also works great on plastics where ONR doesn't cut it. Save me a lot of time and effort! Lake Country Pad washer: huge time-saver! I use ONR and Power Clean as a pre-spray. Rac-a-tac: a necessity! Or a car lift, but even still. Bucket dolly: also a necessity! Koch Chemie PSS: love it for use on exterior plastics. Easy and great lasting results. Opti-Bond (gun): easy to use and great results on wheels and wheel wells!! Took me a while to learn hoe to use it, but now I love using it. The Rag Company Double Twistress: the best drying towel for me! Also use it to dry seats after scrubbing the seats clean, and as an (inside) glass drying towel. Works perfectly and leaves no lint. Especially on glass, it seems to work better than a waffle weave for me. I think these are my favourite products, at least what I can think off. I think I got to most of it because of you, so thanks a lot!

Entry level ceramic coatings: Ceramic Pro Sport and SB3 Solo Both are extremely easy to use, quick to apply, and a great upsell. Multi Year Coating: SB3 Alpha- Works great, super forgiving coating, and at $160 a bottle you can do around 5-6 cars with it Polishing Pads-Rupes Course Wool, Rupes Yellow, and Rupes White. Especially the yellow pad I can get great results on any car with the yellow pad. Polishes1 3D Aca 500 for cutting, 3D One for One Steps, and Hyper Polish for finishing, enhancements, and some one step corrections
