You could review the dive computer functionality of the Garmin Fenix 8 and compare it with the Apple watch Ultra 2 and Suunto Ocean and Shearwater Tern.
We have dabbled with the idea of creating an in-depth review/comparison of smart watch/sports watch and dive computer. Is that something you would be interested in?
really appreciate your videos. would like a comparison with the Garmin Fenix 8 wonder how basic it is if it can go only down to 40M and if it really can switch a basic dive computer like Suunto Zoop Novo
Great companion showing all the different computers together. Obviously, the Garmin Fenix 8 doesn't have AI, but I'd like to see how close if not exact the Descent Mk3i and Fenix 8 readings will be on your "computer rig".
Insightful video, I've heard reports of a high pitched chirp from the transmitter, how did you and your brother find it? 🤔 If you could review the Ratio iX3M 2 GPS Tech+ and ideally compare it other technical dive computers such as the Garmin Descent MK3i, Shearwater Perdix 2, it would be greatly appreciated. 🙏
Yes, a lot of reviews are saying this and I'm sure my ears are not tuned into this sound, but I did not experience it, nor did anyone on the dive boat comment on it. We were all on SCUBA and I've seen some rebreathers complain about it, and that might be because they don't have the bubbles we did.
I think this watch is one of the best watches/dive computers all in one, but also is the most expensive... Now im considering Fenix 8 mip for daily watch and for recreational diving. Btw, in my opinion mk3i is so beautiful. I hope you review fenix 8, amoled and mip screen.
Maybe for this kind of very advanced dive computer an Apex DSX could be a nice comparison as well, with maybe more details on the planning and algorithm used. These are not for the casual divers, for which maybe the best budget dive computer could be more useful. Anyway, great review! It was very helpful! Thanks 🎉
Thanks for the advice. We did talk a lot about how technical we can go in teh video before people get bored and drop off. It's a hard balance. I'd love to test the DSX.
Great Video. I would like to see a comparison between the Garmin Fenix 8, Apple Watch Ultra and Huawei Watch Ultra. Or a comparison between Huawei and Garmin mk3 and Suunto Ocean. Or simple all Divecomputer / Smartwatch combinations available on the market. Because i like wearing a smart device (for now fenix 5) and it would be cool only to have one device which covers diving too. At best case technical diving also
@@DIVEindotcomyes first i dont know about the huawei too, but someone reminded my in the coments under the big dive Computer Video from you. A watch i would like to see is a samsung smartwatch with (technical) dive features, or a descent mk4 with the aditional features of fenix 8 like the better Navigation or New menu
@@DIVEindotcom I think a lot of divers, like me, are doing purely recreational diving despite having dived for 30+ years. We get by using the simplest of dive computers (I have an old Zoop novo) but some features are really nice to have and we all like to upgrade: bigger brighter nicer screen, AI, a user interface that don't require you to learn morse code (more than one button). While a Mk3i 43 would be my dream, the I770r, Eon core, Peregrine TX, Mares Quad Ci etc are in my opinion the entry level computers with such features (i.e. I can keep all my internal organs). Specifically I am looking for expert opinion on the "user experience" when compared to the others. I can compare the tech specs, but I can't use several of them side by side and compare the "performance"/comfort/simplicity/ease of use/limitations/irritations/niggles, and so on. But you can :)

@@DIVEindotcom They dropped the size from 52 to 51 mm. It is not as tall anymore either. In other words, it is more girly than before though still not as bad as Polar.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UntnUOx1SB4.htmlsi=8WcOaaytA9P2cYzB This is our first look at it. A more in-depth version is in the pipeline, we just to want use it more, both dry and wet.
Okay, good idea. We'll look at that one as well. I've always been a bit skeptical about the near eye computers, but everyone I've talked to who's been using the NERD says it's fantastic and that you get used to near eye computers in no time. Have you tried it?
Great review on the Garmin Descent Mk3! For your next dive computer review, it would be awesome if you could cover the Shearwater Perdix 2. It’s a popular choice among divers, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on its features and how it compares to the Mk3. Keep up the great content!
Great, we've tested it, and there's already a short review on this here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4kxeB6tR4oo.html Not as in-depth or technical. What would you like me to add in a review of it?
great video again),, would you please review Huawei Watch Ultimate, not a dive computer actually but more like a smart watch, with multi mode diving features! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
As always, great test, as quite new diver I'm always watch your test with high interest. I would like to test for more recreational dive computers with lower budget. I don't dive that much in a year to justify this high price tag. Would be nice to see: Aqualung i330R, Aqualung i300C, Suunto Zoop Novo, Cressi Donatello and similar ones (I know they are not new on the market, however will be great to se head to head test)
Yes this Mk3i is an absolute beast. With great power comes great price tags. If you check out here >> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4kxeB6tR4oo.htmlsi=RK88bSLdsTGx3F5m&t=1062 ,we test a range of dive computers, including some budget friendlier options like the Zoop or Donatello.
I’m interested if Fenix 8 is usable as a dive computer… a real dive computer for someone who is really in diving? Or just an “emergency” sollution if you do not have a proper one? Or just a reacreational sollution for those who dive once a year on their vacation?
Great video of one of the best Divecomputers! Instead of recommending the g1 as cheaper option I would suggest the mk2i as it now costs only 200€ more than the g1. As a suggestion for the next Divecomputer review I would say the Shearwater Perdix 2 ti!
