Thanks for such a detailed video on the installation! Did the install by myself and save $1k. The tip on circling the 4 bolts up top for the front suspension carriage was perfect.

You are welcome. What coilovers did you get?

@ZEVcentric USA MPP Comfort AWD w/ rear camber arms. Lowered to 34mm front / 14 rear. I originally tried to use the manufacturer specs of 74mm front / 24 mm rear but realized I have the OE spring kit version instead. Front end was super high.
@zevcentric
@zevcentric Год назад
@@raim7908 yup that happens. We did that once as well before they included the new #'s into the guide. Sometimes their #'s don't correlate with new suspension. It will settle and then more likely align with what #'s they provide. We end up about 10mm higher than their published #'s on new suspension.

Just gotta use some muscle while using spanner wrenches. I put tennis racket tape on the handles to help. Should be easier to lower vs raising. You can also try and use a spring compressor and adjust.

Really love these type of videos, very professional, all the necessary steps are shown and really informative. 👍 Great job! 👏 This will surely help out a lot of owners. Cool to see the changed design of the spring seats on these MPP coilovers too. Is this for both their comfort and adjustable coilovers?

Thanks Robbie. We take our photography pretty seriously so doing our best to get the video stuff on par. Hopefully we're doing well for our first go at it.

I think this video is very well done. I for one, would like to know the initial settings for the spring perches recommended for street use. That could be a timesaver for me. Ditto the bump and rebound settings. You could share street and track setting recommendations in another video perhaps?
@zevcentric
@zevcentric 5 месяцев назад
We share those values with our clients after consultation. Rishie can send you that info Hans but give him a week’s notice prior to installing your MPP coils.

I hear clunking sound on turning right or left or going over a steep hill and then turning. How can I fix that noise?
@zevcentric
@zevcentric 6 месяцев назад
Impossible to solve without seeing it in person. I wish I could give you a definitive solution. I would have a shop or someone inspect it to determine exactly where the noise is coming from, shock, lower control arms, or upper arms.

How did you torque the top hats to 20ft-lb as recommended by MPP? It wasn’t shown in the video. Thanks

Was able to do the rear easily but the front gave me trouble and had to stop. For the life of me, I was not able to disconnect the balljoint (like in 1:40). I tried to squeeze but it was impossible to remove the bolt. Both sides gave me trouble. Any tips? M3 perf -21 at 100k miles.

Should be able to squeeze and slide out. If not get a second person to try and tap the bolt out while you squeeze. Are you in snow/salt climate?
@theqllix

@@zevcentric Yeah I'm in Finland so half of the year is basically snow + salt. I fought around 1 hour with both sides with no movement, so I guess I need professional help :(

Why didn’t you show a picture of the after you installed it? Doesn’t mean anything to me as I’m not the one installing it
@zevcentric

There's plenty of pictures of lowered Model 3's on our Instagram page @zevcentric as well as google. This is purely an instructional video for installing MPP coilovers on a Model 3. When and if you bring the Model 3 to us for install we can review all those details with you to set the ride height accordingly.

As a DIY guy about to install my new parts, if you didn't have a pass-through ratchet for the top hats is there room to get a wrench on it?
@zevcentric
@zevcentric Год назад
Sorry Jeff we were on vacation. It is very difficult but if you have an offset wrench you might be able to. It is just more time consuming. Harbor freight has pass throughs for pretty cheap.

Do u find that when the car goes over bumps after installing these it sounds like the suspension or the rim is loose a little bit? Like it’s abit shaky, is that normal
@zevcentric
@zevcentric 9 месяцев назад
Not normal at all. Check all your stuff. Maybe you need to check the top nuts on the shock or your sway bar end link nyloc. Either way it should not be shaky.

Could I follow the same steps for Model Y?
@zevcentric
@zevcentric Год назад
It is virtually the same by is actually less steps on the Model Y because the front is easier to work with. We have a new video releasing this week of the install.
@don.newlon
@don.newlon Год назад
With this also apply for the model Y?
@zevcentric
@zevcentric Год назад
they are practically the same. The frunk removal is slightly different but the same principles apply.
@jansiegrist1798
@jansiegrist1798 Год назад
I'm a little disappointed - at the beginning of the video you show a 15" measurement from the center of the wheel to the skirt of the fender yet you don't show that measurement 'after' the installation. So how much is the Tesla Model 3 actually raised? Not rocket science here...
@zevcentric
@zevcentric Год назад
That is not the intent of the video. We are sharing procedures and torque specs for best practices to install coilovers and we have accomplished that quite well. Since everyone is different adjusting heights to your liking we leave that completely up to you. We simply advise that people take before measurements so they can log all their data before and after.
