Thank you so very much for posting this video! My husband is Assyrian and since my mother in law developed dementia we have missed her blessed cooking skills. She only had sons and never wrote any recipes down. We have been trying many dishes some successes, some not so much:-). After making this dolma with just a couple lil differences I remembered. It tasted so good! The best part was the look on her face when she tasted it. The happiness it gave her goes beyond measure these days! God bless you both.
Thank you for publishing this video. My mother-in-law has amazing dolma…Chaldean dish. This looks identical to how she makes it. I’m the American, ha…I appreciate your video. Thank you.
Very nice and looks delicious! Us kurdish jews have our version of dolma. We call it yaprach, and of course we refrain from eating it with yogurt (unless the dolma is vegetarian).
@@SevenSpiceLifeByLisaK thank you very much. I’ve learned a lot and you gave me great tips for the next time I’ll make it. Certainly it’s a grandma recipe 😀
The word "dolma" comes from the action of filling in Turkish. You can make "dolma" with vegetables such as pepper, eggplant, zucchini, tomato. The word "sarma" comes from the wrapping action in Turkish. You can "sarma" vegetables such as grape leaves, cabbage, chard. Appropriate thickness is the thickness of your little finger. But it's not that easy
Yes! We talk about what you can fill in the video :) also if I wrapped thickness to my little finger there would be no filling LOL! It would look like a slim cigarette hahaha.
Thank you for this tutorial!! I want to surprise the guy I am talking to with dolma since it's his favorite childhood dish. I've never made it before, and I think I've found the recipe I'm going to follow 😁 Cross your fingers for me everyone 😂 let's hope he likes it.
This is Levantine food, the only three things missing was the black lemon/lime and sumac And paprika but this was so on point good work girls 👍 I wish you love happiness, health, happiness, prosperity, knowledge
Hello!! I love this recipe so much and I will be trying very soon💕I was wondering if you cook the basmati rice before mixing it with the meat and other ingredients??
When you try and make this recipe with your Assyrian hubby and you use red pepper paste instead of tomato. 🤦🏽♀️ I’ll let you know how it turns out in two hours. 😝
Thank you. I love to taste new things, so i love this kind of videos. :) But do you have to be so beautiful? As a man i some times get hypnotized by your beauty and miss what you say so i have to go back and see it again, again and again.. lol
