Saw a random picture of Sasha on the internet last week. Reverse searched it, found "Behind Enemy Lines," watched it. Felt he was the drippiest villain ever, thought of putting his outfit together. 4 days later, this video drops. People are worried about these micro chip implants, I'm worried I already got one.
Adidas was very popular in the Sovjetunion during the 1980s All those glimpses into Sasha Ivanics earlier life makes this character really come to life.
You have no idea how happy this makes me. I've always loved that character who played the antagonist but was just a dude on the battlefield doing his job. I could not hit the preorder button quick enough.
I've always looked at this jacket and wanted it from not only Grand Theft Auto IV being my favorite game but also enjoying Behind Enemy Lines as well. So glad to see it's being produced by you guys! Hopefully you'll still have some in stock on friday for preorder when I get paid, might have to sell my kidney. Also a really cool detail hearing the One + One - No Pressure (Deadmau5 Remix) from Electro Choc in the backround. Thank you Kommando store, very cool!
dudes literally read my mind. been wanting his fit for years and considered making it myself but yall's version looks insane, glad to have to have the opportunity to pick it up, thank you so much!!!
You've got to be fuckin with me, I've been working my ass off sourcing these jackets. especially the grey fleece with it's massive collar on it. I love the look and love that you guys are making it but I kinda wish you'd sell the fleece on its own since that's where the drip really comes from because that big collar under any 90's era sports jacket or windbreaker gives tremendous vibes.
Would be awesome if you guys did a repro of the WEP jackets used on stargate SG1 specifically the 3 color BDU version because it was made by the wardrobe department
I loved this movie as a kid. Saw it on TV randomly one day. Always thought this dude was badass. I may just have to cop this and embrace my inner Czech and Polack
In the movie, Sasha's drip gives him a lone wolf merc vibe which makes him stand out. Guy worked alone wearing a tracksuit while the rest of the pack wore uniforms.
ok, i really shouldn't.... but man that is drippy. what's the lead time looking like on these? my gorka K2 ended up taking like 2 years to get to me lol
@@KommandoStore yeah it's great, part of me was tempted to cancel after like the 2nd delay but then the other part just wanted to see if you guys would actually follow-through and you did, so great job
My sweater and jacket arrived a few weeks ago. The quality for both is pretty decent. The pullover sweater definitely not as thick as I thought it would be. The jacked is pretty solid but has some minor stitching problems inside especially by the zipper. I wouldn't wear this combo in weather below - 10 celsius. Either way. Solid recreation.
I remember watching Behind Enemy Lines just prior to my deployment to Bosnia with SFOR in fall of 2002. We also watched the movie in country on that tour. Good movie, and yes, Sasha is a pretty iconic villain. I also remember reading the Scott O'Grady story in Readers Digest probably around '97 or '98 his rescue wasn't quite as action packed as the one in Behind Enemy Lines, and the fact to fiction comparisons feel similar to how they changed the ending of Lone Survivor for the movie version. Jacket looks sick!
My dad loves BEHIND ENEMY LINES, and the channel FX has been playing it often since July 4. I watched a little bit of it, saw Sasha's outfit and said, "You know he's Slavic because of the tracksuit".
So waaaay back in the day like early 60s if im bkt mistaken eastern Europe thought adidas was a high end fashion clothing line. But when they realized it was just regular sport gear, they continued to custom make clothes with the adidas stripes.
Lol honestly this was a amazing surprise. I always felt Niko was based off of Sasha but now I know it was 100% intentional. I grew up with the movie BEL but I always respected the drip Sasha had being the hard core slav he is.
More detective stuff next? Working Columbo clone jacket with a convenient cutout for a shoulder holster? Or something retro with a long coat, greatcoat, soviet or something. Hard to get anything in tan and I'm sure yall could beat out Burberry and pals at something police adjacent. Might even get a contract with a film or PD
I'm not much of a cosplayer, but don't let me rain on your guys parade. I appreciate the attention to detail, and hope you guys sell them like crazy! "Stay down before I finish you off!"
As others have pointed out, the fake Soviet "Berezka" camo from Red Dawn would be awesome to have, either as a lightweight jumpsuit or a hooded jacket/pants combo. Would love to see some lightweight BDU style jackets and pants in either the fake duck hunter style Soviet camo from Rambo First Blood part II or the fake North Korean amoeba/blotch style camo from Die Another Day. Movie camo seems to be a sadly neglected part of the reproduction uniform community since there are quite a few interesting and unique patterns out there.
Behind enemy lines was a great movie made even better that it was a true story. It doesn't make sense that the person that this happened to wasn't consulted. Niko Bellic and Tommy Vercetti were the two most well rounded characters in all the GTA games.
