A couple of notes: First blend only the limes with the water, do it for no longer than 10 seconds so it doesn't get too sour, and strain it. Rinse the blender and then you blend that with the condensed milk, ice and a little sugar. Trust me. Also, I think it's so funny you guys say "Brazilian lemonade" when we call it "swiss lemonade" over here. Our "normal" lemonade doesn't have the condensed milk.
i watch a lot of travel bloggers and love to see foreigners give 0 fucks and end up in place they shouldnt be.....there is always entertainment in that
@@rae6140 yes! That's our "normal" version. It's really nice too! The normal version stay to the rule of the 10 seconds especially, and normally don't take too long to drink it all, or it can also be sour later. It's best to drink right when it's made.
Alright, Mr. Preident, I have something for you. About 15 years ago I worked for one summer at one of those KFC/Tacobell combo stores. While I worked there, I was allowed to go off-menu and order the Popcorn chicken quesadilla. Let me tell you it was by far the single best fast food entree I've ever had. Unfortunately, it's been many years since I've been able to get one, it's become my white whale, so to speak. If you live near a KFC/Tacobell combo, I highly recommend befriending the staff there and see if you can get them to make you one.
That sounds amazing, were there any other cross franchise concoctions? I could imagine a beefy 5 layer burrito with added bacon, or the cheese subbed with kfc mac and cheese. Hell, just take a KFC Sadness Bowl and just wrap it all in a tortilla with Taco Bell cheese sauce and sour cream and call it a day
Tip: if you peel the central pith out before fully chopping/blending you will keep all the flavor but avoid at least some of the bitter back edge of tongue cloying punch that can be unpleasant and almost chemically. Additionally, if you heat the limes first (like use 3-5 sec turns in a microwave at a time) until they are warmed to like… sitting in the sun mid summer type heat, and roll the lime until its almost like a stressball (while warm) this activates the sugars and transmutes some of the alkali components, leading to an even more intensely citrus taste, reducing the harsher bite, and creating a natural sweet Pop to the flavor you would not otherwise get. Also works with other citrons
@@hansolobutimdead first: peel it like one normally does with an orange, making “slices” (do Not actually cut). Second: grab any of the fluffy pith and pull it off Third: you should have “slices” that have most stuff off of them, but still have the “sack” around the inner fruit, take a knife or scissors and cut Just the seam that runs on the inner curve, try to not cut the pulp sacs that are inside, you are just opening the outer sack’s skin. Fourth: hold the body of the pulp cluster in one hand and gently peel off one side of the outer sack so that its free from the seam to the corner, the flip and repeat on the other side Fifth: now that both sides are loosened hold the pulp sack in one set of fingers so that it cant easily move, and use the other hand to peel the sides back and pull it away from the spine of the “slice” Sixth: use a toothpick to pull any bits out that didnt come off clean and slide any seeds out That is the low tech way, its free to do, but a bit tedious, however, there is another option, and, is how companies make the massive batches of mandarin oranges look like they do: Buy Pectinase, follow the directions on the packaging, it dissolves ALL the pith and sack materials in one go. In a quick glance the type you can get on amazon can run between 95¢ an ounce and 35$ an ounce, most likely with varying degrees of accuracy, taste modification, and more, but, this makes almost Every citrus fruit better. You can actually like inject it into or submerge a full fruit in the mix and leave it a while so that you have clean slices inside a newly thinned peel, but that can be a mess or go strange, and uses Way more material. Its generally better to make a big mason jar filled with “slices” the pour in a batch to cover it
Like bro... he probably filmed each part of this at least a couple times before he got everything perfect. Including the taste test. And even if he didn't film the taste test more than once, it doesn't take an oscar award winning actor to make an extremely animated face and a complete overreaction to everything. I actually can't stand his reactions for the same reason, because they are so fake. Like bro.... EVERYTHING he tries warrants him rolling his eyes into the back of his head? I don't think so lol..... even if it's the smallest thing ever, like "i heard that if you add salt to McDonalds ketchup, it tastes so much better," and then he acts like he just ate the best thing in the world lmao.
I actually blend the limes and water on their own, strain it, add it back, then condensed milk, and just a handful of ice. Just a handful gets you foamy effect and doesn’t have any ice chunks which makes it way smoother.
A little tip with the limes as well. If you grate off the zest of the limes and peel away the remaining pith (the white stuff surrounding the fruit), it will remove some bitterness if the limeade is too bitter for you 😊
@@deykno87I made this a couple days ago with lemons, blended the whole lemon....and despite straining and adding lots of condensed milk, it was still really bitter 😬 even if I diluted it, added more sugar, and such, that bitterness remains. I understood then why limes would be best as it has very little pith in comparison to lemons 🙏
The white flesh under the skin-the “pulp,” or also known as pith- can cause the flavor of this drink to be unpleasantly bitter when you blend the limes whole, but it depends on what kind of limes you’re using. Jordan appears to be using a smaller, rounder variety of lime that has a thinner layer of pith. If your limes have a lot of pith in them, you can zest the skin into the blender and discard the pith before blending the rest of the lime to avoid this.
Brazilian limeade is amazing and so is Vietnamese lemonade. With Brazilian limeade, it's all about the condense milk as that's the secret. With Vietnamese lemonade, it's the exact same as American lemonade but, they add a little bit of salt into it, which then completely changes the taste. Well, might as well try Vietnamese coffee as well as that's amazingly good and also uses condense milk as a sweetener.
Ngl I made it a few months ago because I wanted to make it 8 months ago or so then forgot about it, then saw a video of Cardi B making it and that reminded me that I wanted to make it so a week later I did...can't say I remember acting EXACTLY like this but oh my...the drink, indeed, is heavenly.
@@saysoun752 y'know the funny thing is that in Brazil this is actually called limonada suiça (swiss lemonade). Seems like it hasn't caught up in the english speaking world.
@@isaac4273 I had to look it up as to why you guys call it Swiss lemonade. Looks like it's because of the condensed milk as that was marketed by the Swiss in the 1940s. Google is my friend.
You don't have to sell me on it, I already want this. That's lemonade anyways dude. Heck that's basically all the stuff we drink anyways. Have you ever looked at the back of your soda, coffee really anything you drink?
It's its own thing - the lime flavor is distinctly different than key limes, but now you have me wanting to try it with key limes - if you try it, it might be worth going by weight. 4 limes are probably equal to something like 12-20 key limes (depending on sizes), so weight is probably a better measure.
@@kunichuck That's how it is normally made. I found out about this drink several months ago and am obsessed with it. But yes, quarter your limes and blend them with the water first. Strain that mixture and then blend it with condensed milk (you don't need to add sugar).
Same with lemonade, If you soak the lemon peels in sugar overnight and then add them to the lemonade…..the sugar soaks up the deep lemons flavor from the peels and adds it bad into the lemonade. Not sour or bitter but a flavor explosion
@@ThePrayinmantiz mix straight sugar into the lemon peels. It won’t look like much but stir the sugar in the lemon peels and leave in the refrigerator overnight in the morning there will be juice in the bowl and add it all to water mixture and the water will extract the deep lemon flavor and sugar.
I have a suggestion and want you to try it out, zest the limes, and squeeze the juice into the blender while getting rid of the white part, it can massively reduce the bitterness amount and you can also add some rock salt to it as well, give it a go!
I recommend just squeezing the limes if you're going to make a lot of it, or zesting it and then peeling, blending it with the peels makes it bitter faster (i know it's not really the peel but idk the word for it), if you're going to just make enough to drink in the moment then it's fine most of the time
You can make it how you want, really no need for the sugar with sweetened condensed milk it's enough. Brazilian lemonade is also notoriously bitter because of using the whole lime including the pith thats where the bitterness is. So you zest your limes then cut the limes up without the pith. The lemonade will have NO BITTERNESS.
Nooo Jordan, you're not supposed to put the green part of the peel. You gotta peel it off like you'd do with an orange! Come to Brazil to a barbecue, we're gonna make you caipirinha as well.
Aqui fazemos limonada com casca às vezes. Tem que tomar na hora (!!) pq amarga muito mais rápido. Mas, pelo q sei, importante é tirar esse miolo branco.
As a Brazilian I can tell you a secret... We call those Swiss Lemonade... Also, blend the lemon first, restrain and then add the rest... The process is faster.
Replace two of the limes with 500g of strawberries and nix the sugar, and you have a drink I've been obsessed with for months. It's damned incredible and dirt cheap to make just like this
Ive made brazilian limeade a few time and while its interesting its an inferior citrus beverage that will get you an upset stomach solely because of the amount of condense milk in this drink. Youre better off making Egyptian Lemonade instead. Its basically ice blended lemonade with mint leaf in it and its the most delicious refreshing drink you'll ever have. Just slice up lemons and put in a blender along with water, sugar and a handful if mint leaves, blend it then strain and lastly pour liquid back in the blender and blend with ice and enjoy a very refreshing drink during the hot summers.
Sorry bruh, Im still blown away and fully commited to the "Kool-aid-packet-in-the-Simply-Lemonade" thing. You are truly a man of the people. I'm bookmarkin' this one tho.
My man! Me and my son ordered a variety pack of Kool Aid flavors on Amazon and have been testing new combos. Sharklberry Fin and Mango Pineapple and the truth! And Lemon Lime........... looks like Hulk piss but DAYUM!
His reaction had me CRACKIN UP. That’s a serious drink right there. He should make this into a commercial FORREAL. The stores would run out of limes and sweetened condensed milk so fast.
Hi, yeah, the condensed milk is good, and yet I usually try to go against my mother's recipes and only use half of the condensed milk. If you add a bit, not a lot,, not a spoon mountain, of salt, and maybe heat the sugar up slightly so it caramelizes, aint gonna care if people use more sugar in the actual recipes, yours going to turn sweeter (if, you heat it up the right enough way, there isn't a right way but there are wrong ways or mixtures to heat up sugar)...
Jordan! I highly recommend trying out a Dr. pepper shake mixed with Caramel! I got my hands on some Dr. Pepper syrup meant for snow cones, and I just mix it with vanilla ice cream, and some caramel. It is SOOOOOOO GOOOD!!!
My glucose monitor started beeping from me just watching the stuff get put into the blender. Which is odd since all my monitors boxed up in storage lol
Life hack: buy a large lemonade with no ice from Chik fil a, and order some of their ice cream, and then you can store them in the fridge/freezer and blend them up yourself whenever you want one of their frosted lemonade (like on Sundays)
When i was visiting the philippines with my family to see my extended family, i saw something on the restaurant menu that looked curious so i tried it. I refilled it so many times i didn’t even keep track. It was cucumber lemonade. Now, normally, i don’t really like cucumbers, but this really changed my perspective on it. In my opinion, it was way more refreshing than regular lemonade.
Fun fact: You can make bucees/gift shop fudge (the kind that costs $20 per pound) with 14oz sweetened condensed milk (You can also use stevia sweetened or coconut condensed for dietary requirements) per 16oz of chips (If you want chocolate, use chocolate, else you can use peanut butter, cherry, mint, etc.) Melt them together in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time to prevent burning, then spread into a baking pan, and put on the top rack of the fridge for 1 hour or until hardened.
I saw this recipe months back, and decided to make it earlier this week (before this video) since I had both lemons and condensed milk on hand...it was very bitter. Either remove the pith (white part) or use limes as the recipes recommend since they tend to have way less pith in comparison to lemons...unless you really like bitter stuff. It's certainly refreshing and creamy, but I would have enjoyed it more if it tasted more like sweet or sour lemonade. I'm looking forward to trying it again with limes ☺️
Okay I tried it today with a lime. I only used 1/3 of the peel/pith just in case, but it's not bitter at all 🙏 I may try the whole lime next time if that's the case! I don't mind a hint of bitterness, but I don't want bitter to be the main node and the main aftertaste like it was last time when I used a whole lemon 😅 I really couldn't finish it
@@kamekomiyamora nah girl, zest the lime and try not to make zest the white part. I did 4 limes and zested the skin and it was delicious. I try to blend 2/3 more limes in the same batch and then it came out bitter🤦🏽♀️
@@xtelfolaj haha I'll try just zesting next time! Thankfully, we got a thin garlic grater thingy, but just being able to cut em and throw em in is nice when you're lazy 🤭 I was wondering if the pith adds to the thickness/creaminess at all, cause if we wanted a watery drink with a bit more oomph, we could just make normal lemonade and add some zest to it 🤔 but regardless, a tastier drink is always preferred! 😋
@@xtelfolaj so I tried it your way, and it's really good! Didn't get to add as much zest cause this lime's skin wasn't as nice as the other one (UberEats groceries, no control). It's just as tasty, more lemony for sure, and you avoid the grittiness that the pith may add when blended, so it's really smooth! 😍
@@kamekomiyamora I'm so happy it tasted good. I used 4 limes, 6 cups water and coconut condensed milk (since I'm lactose intolerant) and it was amazing it gave a coconut lme taste. I have to make it again one of these months
If you like it, that’s fine. But I just wanted to prepare anyone about to try this … expect a very strong lime peel taste. It ruined the experience for me but you may like it.
Speaking of good drinks, I always loved the vanilla iced coffee that IHOP had. It's a shame they don't have it anymore, I used to chug multiple glasses anytime I was there I haven't been able to find any sort of equivalent replacement. Definitely would make my day if you actually had the recipe/brand for it
Sweetened condensed milk is one of the three ingredients of my favorite "no-fail fudge" recipe (the other two are chocolate chips and butter), so I am not at ALL surprised at the idea of it bringing a sweet richness to that drink.
You are basically the dad of RU-vid at this point you are the only content creator on this platform who talks to us as if we are on video call with you i love that about your channel you remind me of my dad🥰
Another amazing tip for this is if you dont like the slight bitterness, then you should zest the limes before putting it in the blender and get rid of the white part since that is what causes the bitterness but make sure to still include the green outer part
Its well known that sugar addiction is a big problem for US, but I never thought that things are this bad. What about drink a fresh gallon of sugared condensed milk, it’s yummy too.
