This firmware solved all my troubles with my printer! Was about to trade in my Ender 3 V2 for Ender 3 V3 SE but I dropped that thought after installing this FW. Printing's much more smoother and this solved the problem where my printer would fail to print after homing. Big thanks to you for introducing us to such an awesome firmware!
I've chatted with Jake Myers in the Ender 3 V2 group on facebook several years ago. What I think is going on with the Jyers firmware is that Jake is a college student (or was at that time) and apparently he now has other demands on his time.
I installed this firmware 4 months ago. My Ender 3 S1 has never worked better. It's just amazing how many features have been packed into this upgrade. I love the automatic mesh leveling. The amount of tools included are simply amazing. I highly recommend installing this... love it. Great review by the way!
YES! This is what I've been looking for for SO long! There is an option in the menu that will allow me to use the the extended z axis I put on my printer without having to recompile anything!!!! Glorious!!
I've been running this firmware for a while now, and it has made life a lot easier with the E3V2. I was very disappointed with Jyers, because it was never really completed. Even the most recent version of the firmware had a bunch of issues and limitations that I encountered. Thank you for putting this one out there, the more people that know about this firmware, the better. I still haven't played with some of the more advanced features in MRiscoC's firmware, yet, but am looking forward to checking them out over time.
Amazing firmware and video, I have been using the Jyers FW for the last year without much issue but have had to recently replace my motherboard and lost all my settings. Since the replacement I have been fighting to get my bed level even with the CR touch, within 5 minutes of firing up the new firmware the tramming wizard had got my bed level and I was printing again!
Here’s a nice feature. If you use a SD card adapter you can enable media check in the menu and it will refresh the card whenever you select the media (print) menu. No more rebooting the printer when you change cards!
Just had a friend ask for a print after not using my V3 for 2 years. "I wonder if Bryan has any updates for it", and here you are as always! Thank you!!
great video as usual Bryan! Your videos make this a lot less intimidating for beginners! I put off updating my firmware for a long time until i saw your video on editing and compiling the jyersui firmware. Now upgrading my Ender-3 V2 is not that scary anymore. I've upgraded a bunch of things, like micro swiss direct drive extruder, bl touch and dual z axes.
This firmware is AMAZING! Thank you Bryan for this guide. As a new 3D printer user this was like man discovering fire! Finally I can control my mesh level for first layer control for a non-auto leveling bed! This type of control and user experience is what ALL printers should be striving for.
The best of best firmware for 3D Printers today, can imagine how much work involve in this firmware to get to this level, WELL DONE , thank you very much for your work.
Great video, as usual, but this new firmware offers nothing extra for me. The Jyers has been the neatest thing since sliced bread for my Ender3V2, thanks to your videos, so I'm staying with it. Happy printing!
having watched the video relating to the features I find myself in the same position as yourself. I did the Jyers upgrade well over a year go which added so much particularly the manual levelling that makes dialling in first layers so easy. There doesnt appear anything much to be gained by upgrading again so I'll stick with Jyers, till someone comes up with a,good reason in future
Hey Brian! Just came across this video and downloaded the firmware. All I can say is WOW!!! The best firmware on the Ender V2. The Traming Wizard was amazing!
I like your videos 👍 they are a gift when you are a new to 3d printing. I have been enjoying mriscoc's firmware for a little month now and all the nice features it have, I really like it. A new feature also worth mentioning is the possibility to watch gcode previews on the screen (DWin, maybe also on Dacai) like on the Ender 3 v2 NEO.
Bryan, it seems like every time I need information about a printer I have acquired, you seem to have a video for it. You're becoming my one stop shop for info. Guess I'll catch you again after I get another printer.
Thanks Bryan for the great video! I’ve been using Mriscoc Professional for about a year and absolutely love the abundant features. Pairing a bed probe with this firmware really makes it shine! Kinda like Reese’s Peanut Butter cups; “two great tastes that taste great together.”
Thanks for posting this. I struggled for quite a while with the JyersUI; the mesh levelling routine did not seem to get along with the CR-Touch. I had to re-level each time I ran another print, and it still wasn't right. With the MriscoC, I ran the guided tramming first, then the mesh levelling, and it has held perfectly. Ender 3 V2 4.2.2 board/CR-Touch/Sprite Pro/twin-Z axis/PEI build plate
Bryan. For your viewers that are having issues getting Windows 10 or 11 for format a card as FAT32, MBR and4k sectors, the easiest way is to use a program such as EaseUS Partition Master FREE EDITION (I am not associated with them and why pay for what is provided in their free version). It provides a simple point and click interface and takes about 45 seconds. Keep doing all you do!
Thank you! I recently got an Elegoo Neptune 3 Plus and really didn't want to get rid of my Ender 3 v2 but the firmware was so dated. Now I have 2 great printers and I have noticed that my Ender runs much smoother than before.
This is hands down the best firmware out there for the Ender 3 v2. I switched to another firmware for about 15 seconds before missing some feature added in this.
Thank you for this! The main reason I switched to this firmware was, by default, the new print bed area with this build is 230x230mm (which I needed for a large build) and this was (by far) the easiest way to go beyond Creality's stock 220x220mm default.
@@ronnymatalalampi9770 You can set it to 230x230 in Cura, but the stock Creality firmware (physically) forces it to 220x220. It will truncate/cut your printing area right off! So no, it requires different firmware that allows a larger print area.
@@ChrisSchroederPurdueEngineer not sure about that. Both on my stock ender 3 pro and ender 3 v2 i could make it go out x+ and make awfull noise. It was through octopi thoo. If it makes any differens.
@@BV3D so far so good. Still have a ways to go before I’m really taking advantage of it. Definitely like the display upgrade, way nicer than the stock version!
I used your excellent video on Jyers a couple of years ago as a guide for updating to that as it gave me the confidence to try a firmware change. I wish the mriscoc one had been up when I updated to that a while back, but still excellent nonetheless and should help many do the same without having to look at multiple sources for research. A great resource for the 3D printing community as ever.
I've been using this with my 3V2 for a while, at first mostly because it let me set the maximum height _without_ having to recompile, and it's been great. And since I extended the height of my printer, that's kind of a necessity. Love it.
Yeah, that feature right there -- the ability to adjust the printer's dimensions -- makes this so awesome. I can put this on my Ender-3 Max that I've upgraded with the V2 screen and not have to recompile.
subscribed because of this guide! just installed on my V2 after having added CR touch, silicone spacers, capricorn and a pei bed. thank you for taking the time to do this guide.
Amazing tutorial. I've been troubleshooting a lowperture issue on my ender 3 v2 and this has made it much easier to track as I work through my possible problems. Thank you!
Thank you!! Your videos are so helpful, step by step simple instructions. I've been wanting to do this upgrade since you first put it out but I am always so nervous about messing something up. I've since upgraded to the E3 V3 SE which makes me more apt to tinker with my V2. So the first thing I did was find this video and made the jump. I wish I would've done this when you first published this video but again... my apprehension got the best of me. I upgraded the firmware with my CR Touch and the screen, super awesome upgrade!
Thanks for the video. It's a bummer about Jyers (it was game changing) but it's great to know that there is something else out there that's still being supported. If I add a filament runout sensor to any of my E3v2s, I'll install it.
I've been using his firmware for several months now on my Frankenstein Ender 3 V1 (it's somewhere between a V2 and S1 Pro). It works great and I love it.
Does your v1 have a sprite extruder? My v1 is very much not a v1 anymore. V2 display, 4.2.7 board and dual z axis steppers. I really would like to try this but idk if the sprite with bl touch is supported
Sprite extruder, dual Z-drive, mains print bed heat, 4.2.7 board, CR-touch, diamondback nozzle. In fact, mine sounds a lot like yours, and the MRiscoC works great. Auto bed leveling with up to 81 probe points, auto bed tramming that takes all the guess work out of the manual method. There's no reason it won't as well for you as it does for me. He even has a version for the 300 degree C hotend.
@@lindeleasley I jumped into it last night. Found the T13 compilation. What a night and day difference. Why does Creality tie the hands of these things like they do? MRiscoC on the same Gcode did a better job. After I ran all the PID and Nozzle temp calibrations, set E-steps, the tramming wizard (which is an absolute gem), set z offsets and set a mesh and ran it I couldn't believe the difference I saw. I can only imagine once I set the slicer settings and enter the G29 lines in how much more I'll like it.
Great, thorough video! I'm glad that you covered this terrific firmware. When I got my printer last year, I was going to install Jyers based on your earlier video, but I was really concerned about the lack of updates and support. I gambled and installed the MRiscoC firmware and have been really happy with it.
Thank you so much, what a great tutorial! I'm a beginner and really appreciated the way you approach your audience, I feel confident and supported, not patronised (like I have done before when asking for help). Thank you again!
Awesome man you just saved me from the black screen of death lol can you make a video of you upgrading the heat I have a sprite extruder on my ender v2 I’d like to use for nylon prints but I need to be in the 280c for that
thank you so much for doing this. i followed your jyers vid over a year ago and it worked great, but after i updated my system board it worked, but i forgot to uodate the firmware for new board version, and estimates and some other minor things were out of sync. THIS NEW FIRMWARE IS AWESOME! TY!
What about Klipper?although it need a rip or a computer as a upper monitor, but I had never seen any other 3Dprinter firmware has Resonance compensation or a UI like klipperscreen
@@BV3D I am having a problem that during printing the 'Z' axis is not moving up, maybe it goes up two or three layers, the motor is running from the menu, but not during printing, I have already tried different firmwares. I have already put the bed on level.
Great Video Bryan!!! Been using the Professional Firmware since it came out. Really like it! There was a learning curve but after you use it for awhile, it works great! Thanks for the video!
Been on JyersUI since your video about it, but I'm going to give this firmware a shot! I love your videos, thanks for your great enthusiasm and informative content!
great video brian! this is an awesome new firmware and the icons are brilliant too. you explained the install perfectly, although the ender 3 v2 are pretty easy to update. Thanks again Brian
You´re incredible¡ recently my printer have big problems, layers dispplacement above all so i can´t fix with creality firmware, buy with this workly perfect and exact, literally I revived my printer.. Thank you so much master, you have a new follower greetings from México
Thanks for the information on the display boards. I knew about DWIN and DACAI but I didn't know that there were two others. I spent hours trying to update the display firmware in one of my E3v2s. I'm sure it has one of the other boards. I learn so much from your videos. Thank you.
Hi, Ender 3V2 with a 4.2.2 board and a DWIN display board. I flashed this firmware without problem, so thought it would be nice to update the display. When powering on the printer with the display SD card inserted, it first went blue and after a few seconds orange. I removed the SD card and rebooted, but all I get is a black display. The printer was still "live" at this point because pressing the knob gave a beep. Tried reflashing the display several times, no further display, just black. I then thought I'd try reflashing the printer firmware, as there were a few threads that said this had worked. After reflashing the printer, I've still got a black display and now no beeps if I press the knob. Any help or suggestions gratefully received, or failing all else how do I get back to the factory firmwares to start again!
The firmware you are talking about is in fact probably the Best available for ender 3... Ender 3 v2 firmware for sprite pro with and without CR touch provided by Miguel saved my mental health and prevented me from throwing e3 v2 away...
Another nice feature it has over the stock Creality fw is that it supports preview thumbnails embedded in your gcode files. It does require a plugin for Cura. I don't know about support for other slicers.
@@erikmcgavin1950 Well, I have tried to reply twice now, and it keeps getting deleted. I don't know why. But the answer is on thw Wiki tab of the firmware page "How to generate a gcode preview" section
II tried to update my firmware on my E3V2neo but everything went wrong. The motherboard didn't do the upgrade and the screen went blank. Several versions of the Creality just didn't work. So there we are trying to do this version of upgrading, everything is now ok. For that, my deepest thanks foor the clear way of telling and explaning. Let the fun begin.
Super glad you reviewed this! I moved to Jyers a while ago based on your past video. QUESTION: Will the Jyer's screen update work with the Professional firmware?
Something to mention with S1 models, you can tell if you have a F1 or an F4 chip by checking your firmware version. 3.x.x versions are F4 chips, 1.x.x are F1.
Hi Bryan, thank you very much for posting this video. On your video for Jyers Code, I installed it on my V2 and it still works fine. Now I would like to print on higher temps, since I installed an all metal hotend from Ms... And my question is: is it possible to print with more than 260 degrees C with this new Firmware? Greetings
i have just purchased a bl touch. before i could install it my screen went blue with lines going through it. I had absentmindedly set something on top of the board box that jammed the printer. Thats when my screen went blue. should i install the bl touch before installing the firmware?
Thanks buddy after messing around for a few days this seemes to have cracked it!! so thank you. I have built a stainless steel printer head. it prints fine on my test bead in straight lines to .4mm with and .2 hight 100% metal density, but to figure out how to remove all the hot end bead stuf from murlin is bejond my abuility ,, but with this it looks like I just need to set all the tems and fans to 0 Hopefull we will be in business!! BIG thanks again.
This is the best firmware ever. I added CRtouch and upgraded to direct drive and tightened the rail and this is a whole new level of printer now. JUST THE TRAMMING WIZARD ALONE was worth the CRtouch!
I had a heck of a time putting mine together! As vaas said, what is the definition of insanity? Its really owning a 3d printer. But you know repeat, repeat, repeat expecting different results. LMAO. Mine was the diagram not giving proper instructions as to what goes where at what angle or side. Was a rough guesstimate eventually I got it right, then it keep rebooting when I was doing preheat / print. Noticed I got the two wires backwards and fixed it. Rebooted again. Thought it was firmware, had to get the plate open on the bottom to get at the board. Found out it was 4.3.1 followed instructions. Still rebooted. Checked the voltage at the back, was set to 230 changed to 115. DOES NOT REBOOT NOW! Yippie. But the bed was off. So I gotta toy around with that more. And the fillamint. Then I will be cooking!
This is great firmware once you get it up and running. I struggled to install the firmware properly on my Ender 3 S1 (STM32401). My model had the TJC display and needed special firmware flashed to both the display and the board. Just something to be aware of if you plan on doing this yourself. Great video, by the way!
can I ask what issues you had? I think I have the TJC display (will check after my big print). I tried installing the main firmware and was just stuck on creality logo and wouldnt go further
Hey, did you ever figure out how to properly update the display for your TJC? I have the firmware installed for the printer and tried installing the special precompiled bin files for the TJC displays, but it still looks weird, so idk if i did it properly.
it is nice firmware, I have had issues with it on a Ender 3 that I converted into a V2 that came with a version 4.2.2 mainboard. for this particular setup I had upgraded to a Sprite Extruder Pro kit with a CR-touch bed probe. Something about the High speed on the version I had compiled was causing an issue where I can print once with no issues, but if I want to print again I have to power cycle the printer. If I do not do this it doesn't deploy the probe so it buries the nozzle into the print bed when it goes to home or probe the bed to make the mesh. I just downloaded the latest version and I'm going to try again making only the minimal changes needed for the probe offsets and nozzle positions, max size, etc. and hopefully it will work OK this time. I got a 4.2.7 board to swap in if that doesn't fix it.
@BV3D Where do I begin, well I bought 2 Ender 3 V2s over a year ago and to be honest, immediately I was not impressed with them and their printing capabilities. I was expecting great things from them as they were taking over from an exhausted original Ender 3. To be honest their print quality was never up to par with my original Ender 3. To make things worse one of the V2 printers had this odd quirk to it where it would pause for a microscopic amount of time but it was long enough to leave a blob of filament as a result of the hot filament still oozing out of the hot end and spoil the prints. The only prints I could do with this printer as a result of this flaw was flat pieces, panels for the want of a better word. I did find articles on line referring to the power loss function/feature having something to with it but alas the original firmware on my Ender 3 V2 did not have an option to enable or disable it so I was stuck with a well below par printer. I was on line looking at taking a hit for the new Ender 3 V3 SE so I RU-vidd some videos for research before purchase and by pure chance your firmware video came up as I went down the rabbit hole of video recommendations which is RU-vid. To make a short story long and short again you are a life saver. This firmware up grade has my two V2s running as smooth as butter for the first time in their existence. So thank you, thank you, and thank you.
I've been compiling MRiscoC firmware from the beginnings of his releases. I've even tried to integrate creality laser to work with laserGRLB but caused some weird memory leaks and I have a life so abandoned this project. This is the best firmware so far for Ender 3v2. The only thing I find odd with the project that he keeps parts of his work close sourced, that prevents the change of several aspects of the firmware sourcecode. Even changing the text of the splashscreen resulted in wierd bugs. Passed months from the last time i have compiled the firmware, so things may change since.
Hello, I hope you are well. I followed your instructions carefully to update the firmware of my ender3v2. The display becomes completely black. does not enter the parameters. And now I can't go back to the original firmware.
The firmware is great. But you skipped an essential installation step. The physical settings used to let the printer know where the printbed and nozzle are is pretty vital if you have changed the hotend. I had quite a few issues when I changed over to the Professional firmware because it didn't immediately take the new x/y min position. Making me set it twice and question my sanity and the documentation.
