As a poor grad student / former swimmer / lifeguard/ watch nerd who has loved your videos and always refer them to friends- love that you cover such a wide price range. I've swam and used my Casio Duro for diving, and the Orient Kamasu is my favorite piece in my modest collection (and it's also seen water). Feel like a diver is one of the best choices all around for someone starting their collection.

@@soraisfinallyhere1305 I don't have an orient, but I do have a Seiko SRPD and honestly the Casio rivals it. Of course the Seiko is better quality, but the bang for buck from the duro is incredible. I should add that the Casio is quite large. I have 7.5 inch wrists and it's borderline large on me.

I have truly learned so much from your videos. A watch is such a part of the wearer, the owner. It's a part of their personality and history, or maybe just their mood on a particular day. They give us something to aspire to and something to look back on. So many beautiful tastes, styles, price ranges, etc. I love the way you catagorize these videos, still offering ranges within catagories. I love it!

Great video, Teddy! I think the popularity of dive watches is that there is so much variation in the segment, so you’re bound to find something you like, regardless if you’re a low-level desk jockey, a weekend warrior, or a hardcore SCUBA dude. I vote for the Orient Kamasu in generations I and II as the absolute king of cost-effectiveness in mechanical divers, followed by the Casio Duro in the quartz section. The Kamasu in particular offers great specifications and aesthetics compared to what Seiko has around $200.

another vote for the Kamasu. While I don't dive or swim, I am real rough on my watches, they get dunked in water every other day, the bezel gets used to time things and it looks professional enough manning the desk. These seem to be more readily discounted in the UK currently and I picked mine up for £770 (30% off RRP). I think if you can find a deal to bring it below £1k it is more of a no-brainer. At RRP it’s too close to Oris & other great options. Beautiful watch and really versatile with straps. Would take the Certina DS Action Diver over the Tissot. Better bracelet. ISO certified to 300m. Ceramic bezel and same Powermatic 80 movement.

Yep… it’s a good value . I looked at that, but ended up with a Mido 600

@@iLeetjeehnot same movement. Certina has new caliber 80.611 with nivachron instead of 80.111 in Tissot

@@iLeetjeeh I don't even use the bracelet. I swim with it all the time with a NATO strap, and use a navy blue leather strap the rest of the time. I probably adjust the time once every 15 days. For $500, hey, it does the job, swimming, water sports, snorkeling. Fine for me.

How about the Citizen PMD56 Titanium? Solar, 200 meters, sapphire crystal, non-corrosive, stronger than steel, light as a feather, Arabic numerals, good lume, great legibility, and atomic clock/radio setting accuracy for less than $500.

The 300m rating of my Omega is important to me, its possible I might leave it on when I'm washing the dishes.

I have recently bought the Citizen NY0085. Not a expensive watch and its a legit dive brand. For the price range its one off the best dive watches on the market in my opinion.

Another dive watch that now I'm using daily is the Vostok Amphibia. I'm surprised of the quality for the price, and has a lot of heritage too. Great video.

Would like to see the Q Timex for the Desk Divers and the Doxa 300T for the Heritage. But still a good list. 😊👍 Nice to see this type of vid. Thanks Teddy.

Lot of good picks here with some crossover on category. When you look at the overall versatility it still seems tough to beat the BB58.
