Take my hat off to you ben, those usa made rods will go fast, very happy to see a big youtuber going that route,I think homegrown would be a fitting name congratulations
Knew you promoted 6th Sense Fishing, but didn't know you were part owner. Cool man! Casey needs a Canadian outlet to avoid the shipping and border costs for us Canuk customers!
Wut up Ben, Slaw and Mfers! Gotta get me and my son some Mfer rods. Especially my 14yr old. He is about to start his bass season for school! Wish I was offered a damn fishing team when I was in school! Keep kicking ass bro! And good luck to my son Landon!!
Love this! I really appreciate all of the tutorial vids and especially this one as I'm trying to learn more specific reasons to have certain rods I can't afford the exact ones you described but I look for similar. Thanks for all that.
I usually fish spinning rod on shimano using popping cork with live shrimp and also tie on swim baits or plastics. I target bass, redfish and trout. Which would be the best rod to use for this type of fishing style? I appreciate any feedback.
An amazing rod line up. I noticed you had several with 50 and 60/65 lb braid. What brand of braid would you recommend? And in what color? I just got the MFer 6”10 spinning rod for Christmas. Looking forward to getting some time in with it. Appreciate the rod video. It really helps with getting our gear ready to go.
Great video and I appreciate the work that you and Coleslaw put into the content! You named all the swim baits in this video except that line-thru that you use, what brand is that line-thru? I like how you showed that it can be rigged either bottom or top hooked and I really want to get some of those.
Yo man. I thought you use to throw North forks? They have some new C602 rods. If ya don’t know…now ya know brotha. I’m sure you do. I just picked up a few swimbait blanks can’t wait to build them up! Tear em up love your videos thanxx man.
For someone who enjoys fishing but doesn't like the idea of carrying more than 2 poles.. Which would be the best all-rounder rod? I do bank fishing, and sometimes boat fishing. Only thing I don't do is throw them crazy big baits. Anyone able to help?
I really enjoy these rod and reel Arsenal videos! I think they are very insightful and gives anglers an idea of what rods are being used by the guys we like to watch and why they use them for certain techniques. Great Video Ben!
I'm just starting out in big swim baits and I've been watching your videos to try and learn as much as I can in your opinion is the shimano antares dc monster drive a little overkill for for swim Baits that weigh between 1 1/2 to 4 oz or would I be OK with the regular antares dc the reason I'm asking is because I really want a antares dc
Walmart special ugly stick with a decent reel works just fine with medium heavy action ..I break to many rods kids shut them in car door or just random bad luck...so until I know my luck has changed around and the kids move out I will stick to the cheap ones for now .I do have one nice rod and reel and one nice fly rod but they come with me on my solo fishing trips only can't be mad at anyone but myself if they break then
This helps a lot, and it gets me hopeful as a kind of new angler to see what combos I should aim for if I want to fish a certain lure. Thank you, man, and keep up the good content.
@miliken, do you have anyone maintain your reels for you? I own a reel service company up in Michigan, and think it would be badass to clean and service your reels man.
I have been fishing with the same rod since I was a kid lol. If you are a full time worker that loves to fish you don't need to get this crazy lol. Decent rod with decent line and you will be just fine. Don't forget, it's just fishing, and you should enjoy your day off work, and a beautiful view more than your equipment. Stay humble and be thankful for the days you get to fish fellas. 🙏✌️🎣
you said at one time you wanted some old beer cans for your garage , is that still your plan , if so i have some for you i'll send them to you if you would like , how do i get your p.o. box address
Man you, your channel and all your tips, tricks, techniques and advice are all around badass brother...I'm mainly a catfisherman but have been gettin into bass fishin more lately and I'm lookin for a spinning rod that would be idk kinda like a all around rod for all types of lures..what would you suggest I look for as far as sensitivity and length?...any input is gonna be greatly appreciated..thanks and good luck and tight lines brother
Very informative video. My 7'9'' extra heavy 6th sense rod showed up last week and I'm just waiting for my Tatula 300 to show up. I fish a relatively clear water lake (not in Texas don't worry). Any suggestions on brands for line? I normally throw Berkely Trilene, but I've never thrown a $50 swimbait or A rig into the water. I'm looking for reliability given the investment.
I think it's important to note that your style of fishing isn't the definitive way of fishing. Everyone can have a different preference to their style. I mainly use spinning rods but I generally fish for small heads. Dragging tubes, craws, swing heads and whacky rigs all on a 7' medium heavy. But we all have our own style.
Seriously man, I watch/apply or buy and modify, seriously you do not lie. I havent caught monsters, but im catching more fish than i was. Ive bought 3 different draws and absolutely love them on the mfr swimbait rod. There is no joke to any of this. Thank you ben, sincerely thank you
Nice video and long over due! In your travel MFer rods which would you suggest for salt water ! I would be using it off rocks aiming for Barracudas or Blue fish ! Using lures! Also which reels would you go with? I guess shimano but what size please.
Man... I need to buy a Extra H rod so bad. I own one heavy rod strong enough to throw the trace. I thought my 12 rods were a lot. This makes me feel like a big ole bum. Don't even own a boat - Kayak fishing only. Upgrading to a boat in 2024 is the plan.
If you did that all in one take well done. If not Cole did good editing. Garage/fishing cave looking nice and organize since last vid. Always like your content. Keep it up. About time for another MFer of the day! Fingers crossed me.
I've been itching to get the ESP 7'9" Med/Moderate casting rod. Sounds like it would be amazing for making BOMB casts down shallow banks with a Crush 50/100 or something a little deeper like my favorite Curve55 to cover lots of water easily. I would like to see a 6'6" Med/Mod for close quarters squarebill cranking. Making those tight roll cast. I enjoy being able to come up to a tree in the water on the bank and roll cast a Crush 50 into the gaps and slowly crank down between the branches and I feel like a shorter Moderate rod would be great for that. Get those little fatties hiding in the trees 😅👍
Hey so I know this was a rod video but I was just wondering, have you ever tried the kastking capstan 300 reel for your big swimbaits? If so, what'd you think?
Great video Ben, I think the next video you should do is your maintenance on your rods and reels. What depths do you go when cleaning and oiling/greasing your reels. How often do you do it? Cover those kind of things.
Just got my 7'2" MFer at my doorstep yesterday. Looks and feels badass, can't really use it yet up here in northern indiana but i got it rigged up ready for ice to melt
I have a lux and two esp rods and just ordered two of the milliken travel rods so I don’t have to get ones every trip I take thinking bout Colorado next
My favorite is my Emmrod paired up with my shimano antares dc, best backpacking compact rod ever and that reel is just smoooth. Had a dad stop me fishing to ask how my little rod was casting so far with that light of lure an its all in that reel.
I have all Shimano SLX reels and love them. They were my first bait caster reels. Would love to see a video of how you set up your brakes for a new reel.
Hell yeah great video!! I appreciate that you didn’t need to include the reels but you did I love that. Only other question is what flourocarbon do you like to use?
Thanks so much for showing the travel rod! My husband wants a rod for his truck to store behind or under the seat he could just pull out when he wants.
