You’re welcome everyone! I take pride in being the guinea pig for Lightwerkz with this setup. Thanks mainly to the T4R forum where I shared the idea with LW. Love this shop, so lucky to have it in our backyard in NJ!

Just purchased this kit and I will called it 100% kit if they put extra work on it like adding that side hole needed on F2Bracket where you insert the extra hardwares to hold it on the bumper and slotting that hole for adjustment also adding that extra nuts and bolts. I think these small things will ease the install.

I just installed these in my 06. Took some time, as I imagined initially it did for you as well. In the OE bezels, need to mention that it’s best to go in from the rounded side first and push the pointed in last. That cost me an additional $50🤦🏻‍♂️. But, they really needed replaced anyway. Gave me a good excuse! Overall, really REALLY looks great! Btw, the connectors are polarity sensitive!

I just did this install and think a few additional things would be helpful. Mostly, it is not intuitive how the lights fit into the OEM bezels and how to get everything into place. I didn't find a place that bezel fitment is touched on in any of the 4th gen videos. I ended up wedging the F2 brackets into the bezels and putting the whole assembly into the bumper from the front. Takes some finagling and a lot of pressure to get things together properly. I also did not see it explicitly listed out which way each side F2 Bracket is to go in. You can piece it together from this video but it's not explicitly shown or described. Thicker side of the F2 bracket goes to the outside, thinner side to the inside. Opposite of how the SS3 pod's bezel is fit. The pods have thicker side on the inside, thinner on the outside. Some additional adjustment would help a lot too. I think maybe I misunderstood what you meant by boring out the adjuster on the F2 bracket. Hindsight, I think maybe you meant to give the pod more length to travel forwards so that it sticks out more and has more adjustment? I thought you meant to make the channel wider to allow up/down movement. More adjustment, whether it be a dedicated bracket for the 4th gens or something to make this more workable would be great. Also, thank you for offering a product for the 4th gens! They look really good and the whole install turned out great. They do end up sitting in the bezels really nicely and filling things out to leave very minimal to no gaps. I'm waiting on some custom headlights to come in that have the DD SS3 pod in the high-beam section and am really happy that someone offered a fog light mount for the SS3 pod to match.

I wish this was out when I decided to use the SS3 on my fog lamp location on my 4Runner. I had to mod/cut the housing hole to get the SS3 to fit then mod it to hold in place. With the front bezel on my 4Runner looks like and the SS3 doesn’t stick out of its housing and doesn’t wobble either. This product would of been a whole lot less of a headache.

It's not official solution from Diode Dynamics but it works quite well! Sorry to hear about your head ache from the previous install. maybe you can convert it to this with brackets and bezels. If you need help with parts please email us!

Do I really need that F2 bracket/mount? I bought the SS3 lights and wondering if there's an alternative to spending another chunk of money on a bracket.

Great question, You can fab something up. All depends on how crafty you are. Also depends on how much time you end up spending and how you value your own time. The F2 bracket is an easy solution to make it work.

I just got my light, so I'm going to play around and see what can be done :) Thanks for the video... Two questions: 1) Is it possible to have the SS3 backlight with the fog lights? I have the backlight version, but not sure if they'd work, or how to make it work. 2) Is it possible to have the fog lights turn on without the headlights?
@LightwerkzGlobal
@LightwerkzGlobal 9 месяцев назад
Yes you can have the back light feature on the SS3 fogs. You just run the wiring to any 12V source, most people use their parking light wiring. Look up the independent fog light mod for the 4runner. You can do that pretty easy. @@michaelfrymus

Is a wiring harness recommended for these fogs?
@LightwerkzGlobal
@LightwerkzGlobal Год назад
It is directly plug and play with stock wiring. The kit includes everything.

I cannot for the life of me get the harness to connect and "snap" into place with the factory wiring. Anyone else have that issue?
@LightwerkzGlobal
@LightwerkzGlobal Год назад
Are you sure you have the right 9006 connector? If so its just a matter of pushing hard. Sometimes I trim a VERY minor piece off the tab on the connector so it can snap in place.
