If these had Nike ticks or Three stripes /// on either side people would be hailing these as one of the best drops of 2024 already. New Balance is grossly underrated
I guess I know why. At least for me, it's the goofy N of the laterals. It's only due to channels like this or Boot Wizard's that I've started to give them a second chance. They should rebrand the logo. Even UA has a catchy logo
Not only because of the logo also NB’s prior track record before 2019 weren’t great and a little lack of marketing means not everyone will give NB a chance. Since 2019 they’ve been making a lot of strides and at the moment they are very much up there with adidas,Nike and mizuno
I bought the harvey Elliott ones in red. By far the best boot I’ve tried this year. I got them for $140 on new years. The quality is great, I catch myself playing more in them than my Adler,Mizunos and asics. The fit reminds me of the phantom venom elites.
@@vidliam6880thats right! Right now im playing on wet grass;almost soft ground, therefore i need a boot with more response in lockdown and with more bite on traction. The sole plate on the tekela is perhaps one of the most innovated compared to what im getting from the big japan 3. Don’t get me wrong Adler is great, but if i know that I will get great results with the tekelas than the adlers on wet conditions, Ill go with the tekelas anyday.
Broo I loved the venoms, I tried these on at dick sporting goods and these felt great sort of like the venoms. The v7 pro did a little as well with the off center lacing for me.
This is one of the best I have owned and I have a lot of football boots. However, I get heel blisters wearing the low-cut version while the same high-cut laceless version is absolutely perfect for me with no blister. It may be something that people might consider when buying. I just tape my heel when using the low-cut variant and live with it lmao
@@Luaone I go up half a size for my foot shape. Tho', the length of them are similar to half a size down from Nike. I normally buy us7.5 for Nike and us8 from new balance tekela v4 fit me perfectly. However, I would go true to size on the furon v7. Havent tried the plus version just came out so I cant comment on them.
I work at a sports store also and wanted to order a pair for myself (we don’t sell top end football boots but I can get myself some) but I was wondering if the heel of the tekela is the same as the furon because the furon gave me crazy blisters and I can’t wear them more than 10 minutes
@@tristanboivin8882 oof… it’s been a while since I tried the furon and it didn’t really stand out to me so Im a bit hazy on that. But if u have a medium shaped foot the tekela should secure ur foot nicely w/o much movement
Hey Jimothy, are you going to review the Under Armour Shadow Pro cleats? Several colorways have come and gone. Some people think they are similar to the Hypervenom 1 but I doubt it. Maybe you can compare them.
I have always been a nike adidas kinda guy but then i got my first pair of the bronze tekela v4 a few months ago and it was amazing you can find them on sale allll the time and they have become one of my favorite boots.
Ive got the Orange mid cut lace less from last year this time and they are fantastic. Ive seen more and more folks in my adult league getting Newbalance boots
Josh, do you recommend these for AG pitches? The current facility I am playing at has a weird turf that has everyone slipping and falling when they wear FG boots. I’m not sure if I should invest in an AG boot since the fields have a significant amount of the rubber pellets. I’m not sure if a TF boot would have enough bite. Thoughts?
I have same concern , especially the blade on the edge, it really scares me if playing on ag. I also had some knee injury before, those blades on edge gives me PTSD.....
great review. i also bought a pair of NB tekela and it is great. WOULD LOVE TO SEE A REVIEW OF THE ASICS DS LIGHT X FLY 5 imo they are very underrated and would love to know your opinion on them.
Could you do a review of the Nike mercurial air zoom ultra se and the Nike mercurial Vapor next nature. They were released before but I still wonder if those are better than the current Vapors.
Hi Josh, could you give your opinion on adidas artificial grass version boots? How different are they from the FG? Are FG still ok to wear on AG like they used to be?
Hey Josh. I play mostly on AG pitches but I really want to give these a try would you recommend giving it a go or just go for a AG specific boot from Nike ?
Also last question, I heard the Furon v7+ are great aswell , if you could recommend either the Tekela or Furon to someone who hasn't tried new balance before, which one would it be?
Considering only performance - hell no. Question is if you are willing to pay extra for colorway you like better. I have OG Copper v4 Lows but if I had to buy today I would spent extra 45$ for new colorway.
The turf shoe market is undersaturated. I already like New Balance running shoes. If they made a TF shoe that feels like a running shoe (lower stack height obviously, I've played in running shoes before and it's harder to get under the ball)... Please include a highly water resistant upper btw ...I'm sure many many ppl would buy. I guess the main reason they don't is the reason Nike stopped making Mercurial Elite TFs. Ppl aren't spending $200+ on a pair of TF shoes. Another meme tech I'd like is graphene enhanced rubber outsole, the tread on my Mercurial Academy Superfly TFs you inspired me to buy is wearing at an alarming rate. Setting the audio level for the grip sock ad is pretty low so I turned my volume up...main content levels are much higher. I kinda appreciate u for making the ad quieter cuz ads suck, but I also felt deceived once I had to turn it back down again. 200 grams is pretty heavy. I just got a new pair of running shoes that weighs 140g. Went to do a track workout and was invited to play soccer in them. I lost count of how many goals I scored (8+). They're Saucony so they're super high quality upper, ultra durable, unlike Nike which disintegrate if you look at the wrong. I'd been playing in React Gatos (which weigh 260g+) so it was like taking off training weights. Afterthought: I appreciate the superfly / knitknit extension to keep turf pellets out of my boots. Super effective. My thoughts on the actual boot you're reviewing: the stud pattern looks prehistoric. I never wear cleats, but the circular patterns that Nike is putting on their highest tier models makes a ton of sense to me. It's great that they're extremely comfortable but I wouldn't play in them for that rzn.
yeah, i probably will buy these, most definitely! I'm not happy with Nike's line up going into 2024! They've killed the GX, who wants a Luna 2 high or low? nobody. if anything needed an update, its the Mercurials. And they've killed the tiempo by removing the kangaroo leather. At least New Balance know when they've gotten it right and are sticking by their design, i really like these, especially this colour-way
How much better are these compared to original Tekela (v1) I Don’t play outdoor much so I’ve been using a lot of older cleats from 2018 and slowly want to get back into it
Given that I personally tend to prefer the feel of leather boots, I’d lean towards the Copas, but if you typically prefer knitted uppers, the NBs are a great choice 👍
I did, but I think it's because of the sizing thing. Most people recommend going 1/2 size up. I've bought the +s a half size up. If that doesn't fix the issue I'll update this comment. They arrive tomorrow.
@@timeemaci think because you went a half size up, i went true to size and its been two weeks straight with these and no heel blisters and im wide footed
@@Luaone i went true to size and it was a bit tight at the for box and the heel gave me bad blisters. It seems like most reviewers say go half a size up
It's already making a name in there. They signed a Brazilian player coming to real Madrid this summer and basically gave him a gold colored ones which he debuted against Argentina a few months ago.
All good saying you can get them in wide fit but they aren't sold anywhere. It's fucking stupid. Not even the New Balance official site have them in stock in a wide variant.
I always gave new balance a chance until a bad experience with the tekela v3. I want to give them a chance again but they treat their customers poorly.
