Lovely conclusion with your bee's 🐝 I believe that you will slowly overcome your fears. Baby steps maybe suit up and just walk by your hive or tend to thing's nearby. Be kind to yourself ptsd is an awful cross to bear. You are an extremely strong woman believe in yourself and you will thrive. Big hugs from me in the U.K. Steph xx
It's amazing how much different the natural light makes! Please keep showing us your dishes like this, they look so delicious. I hope that your fridge gets better soon.
Yes, in this case the camera also adjusts the lighting due to the brown tones of the wooden countertop, which doesn’t help the browning of the muffins to stand out, maybe on a white background it is more visible too, in case you don’t have the natural light while filming (in winter maybe?) just a tip ;). Love your videos!
A good appliance repair man is worth his weight in gold these days! I just refuse to buy new, large appliances (or cars either) and mine has saved me so much money in the last three or four years. He also sold us a matching washing machine for our very old dryer, a stand up freezer to go with our little chest freezer, and the money I saved now allows me to have TWO, huge side by side refrigerators! It really makes food storage so much easier. Okay...on with the video. ;-)
Fingers crossed 🤞 that your refrigerator is operational again. I know how frustrating it is to have your kitchen turned upside down. It is a blessing to have a spare refrigerator in the garage.
Good morning, Jessica. Thanks for postings this week. I look forward to watching your "little" family growing up. You're my new Little House on the Prairie❤
Blessed Sunday, Jessica and all! I’m grateful you featured your muffin recipe. I’m looking forward to using that for company that’s coming to visit next month! I’m an RN and this is not to worry you, but would advise you to have an epi pen in the house as you continue to have bees and also Benadryl nearby. Sometimes, once you are stung as many times as you were, it sensitizes you to react. Have a wonderful Blessed week with your family.
Thank you for the heads up. They had warned us of that at the hospital after the attack. Thankfully we have a bunch of epi pens around the house due to my son's allergies.
@@threerivershomestead that makes sense that you would be prepared with many epipens due to Gabe’s severe allergies. I’m glad about that. I grew up in Texas and my dad was attacked by fire ants. After that he became allergic to bee stings and every time he was stung, the allergic reaction worsened. Like the original commenter I’m not wishing to be negative or alarmist. Just wanted to share what I witnessed with my dad so you are informed and stay safe. ❤
This is not a criticism, just information. Jalapeños is pronounced ha la pain yo. You are well spoken and if you are anything like me, I like to know the correct pronunciation of words. Love your videos 😊. I'm glad you are going to keep trying with the bees. God is good.
Jessica, you seem remarkedly calm for losing your main fridge! I know you have an extra fridge in the garage for your overflow but I would be in panic mode if that happened to me, lol. Your garden looks beautiful. Have a great week.
Jessica, could you please do a video explaining how you get your kids to eat such small portions? I ask because overfeeding children is a HUGE issue. I noticed that you never just pile miles of food on your kids' plates. Too many parents are UNKNOWINGLY fostering the spirit of gluttony in their children.
Happy Sunday to you and your sweet family! I'm the same way about my kitchen. Praying your fridge can be easily fixed. Love your videos whether they are short or long. I miss having mulberries. When I was growing up, we had two very big mulberry trees in the back yard. We kids ate them throughout the summers (as well as wild blackberries) and picked tons of them for our Mama to make jams and cobblers with. After both of my parents passed away, the trees died too. Of course that was just a coinsidence. The trees were at least two hundred years old according to the number of rings inside the trunks. Such sweet memories come to mind just hearing the word "mulberries." Have a wonderful upcoming week! Blessings! 💙💙💙
Your girls are looking so grown! 😭 I don't know if you remember me, but when you had your miscarriage I selfishly complained about how it's hard for me as someone who is infertile. I wanted to let you know that God has answered my prayers and I'm twelve weeks pregnant today. I feel like I need to share my infertility issues, though I know with you struggling with your hardship it was not the best time. Thank you for being so gracious with me then.
God's blessings!! Sometimes, life will send something trying to take your eyes off of your blessings. But you have so much to be thankful for this week!! Glory HALLELUJAH!! Keep on looking for all of those blessings cause you have so many from our Lord Jesus Christ!! Amen ♡♡ Thank you for sharing with all of us
Funny how God keeps us going forward even when we would rather stop. Hopefully the wild bees will be respectful of your care. God’s abundance is all around us if we look. My salsa is more on the drier side, no beans or corn but bell peppers, celery and garlic and several jalapeños . We put it on everything even meatloaf and scrambled eggs . I top stuffed eggs with it too. Hopefully your fridge returns to a working status. Thank you again for giving me guidance in canning and gardening. Take care~
Great to see you 😄 Your strawberry muffins look so good. I'll definitely make them. Would love all your recipes actually 😊 A cook book would be awesome. Hannah is growing so fast...such a beautiful little girl 💕. Hope Adam can fix the refrigerator..... Have missed your vlogs . Greetings from a cold Canberra , Australia 🦘
Jessica, your garden is looking amazing already. Seems it’s only been a few weeks since you got it going. God is a wonderful provider and knows what is best for us which is why he sent you new 🐝 🐝. Take your time, one step at a time, overcoming the PTSD. ♥️
Yes... looking beyond the winds and waves... thank you for sharing your journey with us! Blessings on your family and your growing season! 🌻🐛Carolyn in Ohio 🌿💚🙏💕
Jessica, if you do see this, knowing there are hundreds of comments, could you let me know what brand of food processer you have? I love the size of it and see it when you film it thinking, you should just ask. So I am asking. If any subbies know, could you help me out with the name brand? I need a new one and like the shorter version of this style. Thank you anyone that might have an actual name of it
There is a new video this morning. Yeh!! I thought well she has been doing them every two weeks for the past month or so . Therefore I was not expecting one again until next week but I checked anyway. Thank you! I am so sorry about your refrigerator! And that you managed a video in spite of that. You do wonderful family videos. God bless!!
Very thankful we have a backup in the unattached garage, but making that trip back and forth with all the food before and after each meal definitely is motivation to fix the problem soon!!
Hi Jessica 😊!!! Happy Home Church Day!! Been a while since I commented, but I am back!!! Hope you are able to get over the fear of the bees. You seemed to enjoy them so much before. God Bless You and Your Family. Your Michigan Fan and Friend Araminta ❤❤❤
I'm like your little ones with no to minimal heat in my food. It's thanks to an uncle who was trying to get me to stop sucking my thumb when I was a baby. He put hot pepper juice on my thumb. My mom said it didn't work, and my lips would be swollen and red, 😄 . Now I'm 44 and no longer suck my thumb, but spicey food is a no-go. 😂
I had 5 bushel of green tomatoes last year. I made green tomato salsa, and relish too. My recipe called for 10 jalapeno. In a bushel of tomatoes. I used six, only one with seeds. My children love it. Perfect spice in it. For me I like it spicier, so I put some liquid in like tobasco or whatever I have.

Jessica, off topic but could you possibly tell me the brand and name/ # of the green paint on the walls of your kitchen. It’s such a lovely color! Thank you! 😊
I know it's called Great Thyme and I got it at Menards. Can't remember the brand, but I will try to figure it out. When we pulled out the fridge I realized I never painted behind it, so I hope to get a can of the paint this week to touch up the walls. Adam used all of my leftover paint on the freeze dryer stand he built me.
Jessica, I've been meaning to ask you if you ever use Pomona's pectin? If not, why not? I'm diabetic and would like to make some jelly or jam with a little less sugar, but not if Pomona's wouldn't work well. Thanks for considering my question🙂
where would I find your video about making vanilla. I'm new to your channel and have absolutely learned so much from you. A big thanks Within the next week I'll purchase a dehydrator...do you have a promo code for your brand dehydrator? Also, was looking for an add to coop and I'm signing on w Azure. If I say you referred me will that get you anything. ok off to more of your videos. You're such an inspiration❤
Oh yes! Love the salsa recipe! I’ve just started getting tomatoes to form on the plants and fresh herbs, beans, cowpeas, rutabagas, turnips, beets, chard, oh it’s just a wonderful time! I’ve had to cut up and preserve my remaining butternut squash I grew last fall before they start to go bad because the new squash plants are starting to produce. So exciting! I’ve got fresh onions and garlic as well. All the timings for things are so different here in the south from there up north. 😮I have to get all my tomatoes as soon as possible before the heat peaks over 100 degrees (we’ve had a few days at around 95-97 already) So I have to try to get all I can at once and preserve as much as possible before the heat kills them off. Same for green beans. Which is why I plant cowpeas so I have something growing all summer and some make for good snap beans and I use them that way until the fall. I also plant a bunch of sweet potatoes as well and rounds of potatoes as well so they’re not all ready at the same time. It’s a crazy time of year! I’ve also started getting cucumbers as well and I’m so excited to start pickling and making tomato and cucumber salads too. Great year so far for my garden (it’s my 3rd year gardening here). Each year it gets better and it’s so exciting! I love this time of year when I worry if I’ll have enough time and energy to get everything preserved before it goes bad or the plants die. It’s stressful but in a good way. My goal for a years worth of tomatoes preserved is well on its way! Honestly, even God has been planting volunteer plants for us this year. We’ve found lots of wild foods growing around us as well that we didn’t know we could use but they’re extra plentiful this year. So amazing!
Hello beautiful family! I love catching up with your videos. Here in Australia our end of year is before a long school holiday in December. Everyone is exhausted by Christmas day. My reason for writing is your old dog TOM, who I suspect he has bad arthritis from the way he walks. These days vets have very good meds to deal with the pain and stiffness he must feel. Unfortunately sleeping outside especially in the winter will increase his arthritis. God bless and thank you for all your encouragement.
I have a question about your Chamomile. How long did it take for it to grow tall? I sowed seeds in a grow bag on April 29, and they are only about 5 inches tall. I'd love to be able to start harvesting them to make tea. The type that you found in the driveway was the kind my grandmother used to harvest, and it did smell great!
I’m excited to see what you do with your radish pods. I just pulled up my four wasabi plants since they were falling over and sprawling too much on top of my onions. I did pull off all of the pods and am searching for ways to preserve them. I didn’t much like them fresh.
The wild chamomile/pineapple weed makes the most delicious tea. I harvest the flower bud and the top set of leaves. I prefer it by far to any other tea ingredient, including cultivated chamomile. It also makes a tasty sorbet.
I canned a few pints of salsa and it was soooo good ,only 2 pints left! Guess I will need to make more! I don't add corn or cilantro( tastes like dish soap to me) . Loved the strawberry muffins!!
Jessica I have a juicer I guess you call it like the one you use all the time. I think you said a neighbor gave it to you. I dont have the metal.stand but if you would like it I will mail it to you.
You definitely could! If I wanted to can it I would definitely be more precise with the acid and either test pH or find a similar approved recipe and pay better attention to ratios of ingredients.
I last bought a new refrigerator during the pandemic. It was a miracle I got one then. 3 different appliance people me that appliances aren’t meant now to last more than 6 years. Ugh….
I have chamomile but I also collect pineapple weed from my driveway. You use the whole plant not just the flower part and I wash it about 5 times since it grows in odd places. I like it more than chamomile for tea. MN here and I have to say you are well over a month ahead of us here. My mulberries are tiny little greenish things still, but I know they will come in and overtake me! Thanks for sharing and hope the fridge gets fixed!
