It’s the day after one of the greatest football games ever and you’re feeling a little ‘under the weather’ cuz you may have had too much to drink. But fear not my friends, because this delicious, cheesy and perfectly greasy combination with grilled onions is exactly what the (fake) doctor ordered.
Should be self explanatory - but even if they're not...just make em.

We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

I love watching Sam make amazing food but a bologna sandwich here in the South consists of two slices of cheap bread like Wonder bread, 1 or 2 slices of crispy fried bologna and Duke's mayo or Miracle Whip. The cheese is a bonus. 😅🤣😂🤣

I've loved fried bologna ever since I was a kid (I'm 46 now), so I don't need to add this to my recipe playlist, but I always love seeing someone sharing the love of fried bologna. A couple pointers for future efforts in the frying of bologna. You seemed to figure out near the end that the bologna needed to be split pretty far to keep it from bubbling up in the center; I recommend four cuts leaving a space about one inch in diameter in the center (preferably making the cuts BEFORE you start cooking it). Second, it's even better with the thick cut bologna; the thicker slices let you get a better sear on the outside while still having enough bologna inside that you can actually taste bologna rather than just tasting char (if I buy thick cut, it is specifically for fried bologna; thin cut is for regular sandwiches). The only other suggestion I might add is dill pickles; the flavor of some nice dill pickle slices is a perfect compliment to the smokiness of the fried bologna with just the right sear and the creamy tanginess of the mayo--I guarantee it will make it better! If you try it, I'd love to hear what you think of the difference made by my suggestions. As for recommending something different for you to try, I'm sure it wouldn't be worthy of a video, but you should definitely try this if you never have. Peanut butter and bacon sandwich. I know it sounds weird, if not horrible, but literally everyone I have convinced to try it has loved it! Toast up your bread and slather it up with peanut butter, then put on a few strips of nice fatty bacon, hot from the frying pan and still dripping with a little grease. The heat of the bacon softens the peanut butter so it mixes with that excess bacon grease and it all melds into an amazing symphony of flavor! Like I said, probably not worth doing a video about, but you have got to try it!

You don't need to put so many cuts in it. Just one good size cut down to the center will do it just fine and keep it from breaking apart. Also the normal original Bologna is better than the beef version 10x.

Sam and family..love your show. Another idea with bologna sandwich is how my dad made em. You grill onions and tomato slices cut in half. Put the bologna on flat top do NOT cut bologna. It will rise up and make a cup so you flip over making a bowl. Crack open an egg and drop into bologna cup. Cook till egg is finished then top egg with cheese. Texas toast heated on flat top then construct bologna egg cup with cheese, tomatoes onions, jar hot Italian peppers on top of that the Mao & mustard to taste. This for lunch then Goulash for dinner great to feed da kids on Saturdays.

Yeah, Oscar Meyer is going to make a so so sandwich. The South uses actual butcher shop bologna in their sandwiches, and it makes a real difference.

My southern grandma would make fried bologna sandwiches for me. The meat was not pre-sliced. She'd cut thick slices and fry them; mustard, Miracle Whip, diced white onion, pickle relish...all on Wonder Bread. Can't eat that stuff now...HBP.

A good go to recipe I like to make is putting a piece of cheddar on bologna, rolling it up and microwave for 20 seconds

The deli section of your grocery store will cut you slices of all beef bologna 3/8 to 1/2 of an inch thick. Cut a small hole out of the center of each slice before frying them. Substitute swiss cheese for the boring American cheese. Add slices of tomatoes and lettuce. Slather toasted wheat bread with real mayo and yellow mustard. Your instantly transformed back to when minimum wage was $1.25/hour and gas prices were under 50 cents per gallon.

I was laughing and saying in my head, "fried bologna rookie"! Never tried fried onions on mine, looks good. Like other have said, use the thick bologna, and always slice the sides. I use Swiss cheese on white Wonder bread, with ketchup and mayo.

Max was right. Cut it from the middle to the edge. It creates a pac man shape. So at least 2 pieces are required so you don't have just a bite of bread.

Be interested to hear from whoever won that contest. Came back, not to slam you sir, but c'mon. First, the phrase to someone who is helping you when you're cooking a fucking bologna sandwich is 'excuse me', not 'back up snap'. Second, those onions aren't caramelized. Not even close. Third, you sound quite pretentious with your opinions about bologna. Sometimes that's all some people can afford. And not that fancy beef Oscar Meyer shit either. Lastly, if you're gonna tell us about food, know what you're talking about. Beef Bologna has no pork.

Frying baloney (not bologna) comes as second nature here in the south. One slit from the center out is mandatory.

I love me a toasted balogna sandwiche with a thick slice with melted cheese, mayo, and mustard or honey dijon mustard. Don't really need that many slices, just one thick slice. Sometime i like to fry up an egg to put on there if i decide to have one for breakfast.
