Dont know... Looks like a 5€ game like Vampire Survivors or Death Must Die. Its "okay" but I would much rather have siege or something like that return. If I wanted to play something like this I would be playing one of those two games I mentioned.
Just as an FYI: if there is just 1 person playing they dont need a lot of server power for that. They dont need to sync stuff between people etc. so single person lobbies dont hurt them as much as you think
I have no idea how Riot servers are setup, but if each game instance reserves a specific amount of memory designed for 5 people but only one is playing. It's still as if 5 are playing therefor a lot of that memory goes to waste, no other server can use it because it has to be reserved. and if 5 people play solo instead of together it's the same as if 25 people were playing at once.. But then again. I have no idea how they are setup so handling could be different.
It's not that, he already got a skin this year. Dragonmancer + prestige. My only issue is that dragonmancer was done to "catch up" the both of them, and now Xayah has another skin without him. This might become a cycle in which rakan's duo skin releases 2 years after Xayah's one and vice versa. Yeah I'm not a fan of it either :c @@surrealllama
it's so annoying, they were launched as a pair, and always got skins as a pair, but because of money riot decided to separate them, stop making synced recall animations and even stopped launching skins for both. They just killed their narrative, and because they aren't mega popular, riot doesn't care
That would be a stretch, like if we count heavenscam lee as a separate legendary, he will be in line with her. 3 of sera's "legendaries", which are actually legendary in quality, are bundled up in a definitive skin. So it doesn't really work in the way you would like to.

Fun Fact but Enfo, from WC3 "Enfo's Team Survival" fame, applied to Riot like 10 years ago and pitched all these mode ideas. Riot didn't hire him saying modes wouldn't work or be popular. How very, very wrong they were. I can only imagine what might have been if they embraced his pitch back in the day and actuality followed through with it.
It unfortunately doesn't look like it will stick around for more than summer time, but, if the reception is great, I can see them making something like TFT, where it just becomes its own game. I love vampire survivors, so seeing LoL and VS combining is like a dream
@@charmquark7514 however, there's hope. This gamemode looks very promising, I'm a B I G fan of Odyssey Event, but this might top that. Replayability, being a survivors co-op, all that for free? Ain't no way this game won't pop off.
100% wont be permanent. Server issues aside, it is a reality that Riot wants the ranked ladder to be the main gameplay element of LoL. One thing I can say is that, this ''mode'' has too much work went in it for them to just scrap it. It will be like Arena where we will see it rotating imo. As the other commenter said, this becoming a TFT 2.0 is also very possible.
Well, be one of the people to play it for a decent amount t while it's up so Riot will see it's popular a d put more resources into it like they did with arenas.
as someone who plays too much vampire survivors -like games, Holocure still stands at the top for making unique characters and gameplay difference for the most part

@@Xephyranth Exactly. And what I see here is a half-baked product losing hard to it's indie competitors. The mode is just a ad for the skin line, needs AT LEAST 6 more months in the oven from gameplay video vandiril showed alone.
I mean, you are right that holocure can make characters feel more unique than other VS-like games, but they too have only a different weapon with like 3 unique passives per character. It does seem like swarm is at least close to that while being 3d with leagues graphics. And these events with unique "loot" where you can drive a tank as stated in the video do add more depth to it. The different maps having different gimmicks like a base that heals you or turrets is something that holocure does not have (or at least didnt have when i played a while ago).
i just realized this is such a good way to get new players in and teach them what the characters do and hopefully get them interested with playing the real game LETS GO

Actually, it makes perfect sense why this mode is free to play. You gotta understand that while yes, the cost of running the servers is high, Riot pretty much has endless amounts of money, keeping up these servers is probably spare change to them. With all this being said, the game mode looks insanely good, can't wait to get my hands on it😍
"we're seeing a massive shift in lol content" no we arent. we're getting a single pve game mode thatll vanish in a couple weeks and we wont get anything tangentally close to permant playable pve game modes that push forward leagues story or expand it and itll always be au's and itll always be chances to shill more lux and seraphine skins.

Funny how a game called temtem swarm was announced earlier this year to be a co op vampire like game. Just thought it was funny they both ended up using swam in the name. Doughty they are trying to copy them it's not like it's a hard idea to come up with
If they implement WASD movement (yeah I know they’ll have to remap some keys and you l’ll have to get get used to it), it will really change the game and I will come back to league PC. Wild Rift is much more fun simply because of the movement mechanics.
I loved doing challenge runs in odyssey game mode when it came out. We would go for 2 augments highest diffculty one with 1 malp 4 yasuo and we would try to oneshot kayn
and now i need a colab with a playable character only for that mode that plays like firefly and a firefly skin, with a unlockable augment/ulti das unlocks her true form/power. thanks riot! :)
I'm excited to get to play any kind of PVE League mode for the first time as the two previous PVE events happened while I was taking a long break from league :)
Once i saw that aatrox skin, i was sold. That skin, takes inspiration form my FAVORITE fighting game character Susano'o from BlazBlue. The bright colors running down the body, the head with grinning mouth and barely anything close to eyes, and shouldrrpads with mouths. I can't wait to start blasting his theme and playing aatrox
So I guess you do deserve a huge thank you for being a big inspiration for this gamemode then! Maybe if it wasn't for your videos about PVE back then, this gamemode may never have existed! So thanks Necrit for holding the frontline of PVE requests! :D
