To be fair the gamers endorsing these products are absolutely clueless and uneducated so its not like they know the product sucks. Not saying they should promote the product but I dont think they are knowledgeable enough to make informed decisions. I wonder how much money they getting paid to endorse the product. Seeing as they are already making millions you would think they would not waste they time endorsing a product unless its extremely lucrative.
@@toonamelts anecdotally I disagree. The overlap of my friends I see in the gym on a regular and my friends I see playing video games on a regular is small
Just to say coach Greg I ve never seen any friend of mine or friend of Friend take this g fuel drink it's too expensive maybe it's just my country But still even streamers dont drink this in bw streams some do well exceptions are there but most don't So its a shitty product but no one buys it from my opinion
Pretty sure anyone that watches this channel is already smart enough to not buy this, one look at the label and you should realize it’s basically kool aid
Xqc drinks 20 cans of cola a day and streams for 15 hs, eats trash (take out) and probably drinks 10 servings of g-shit, the fact that he is alive is crazy
As an avid consumer of GFuel, you just gained a subscriber. To me, it's more of a flavored, caffeine drink than a supplement, with the benefits of some proven nutrients - and it really is quite delicious. I don't know if it's a placebo effect, but I do feel it's a little more effective (and fun) than drinking coffee or tea. That being said, this video kind of helped me adjust my expectations from this product, and I don't think I'll be buying GFuel quite as often. On the topic of scrutinizing supplements, have you ever done a video on AG1 (Athletic Greens)? It has a lot more going on in it, but it also seems to have a lot of people divided. I would love to see a channel or individual use such a thorough approach to assess whether or not it's something worth using.
I drink coffee and tea and I’ll still be drinking Gfuel. I never believed it was a magical elixir but it is a sugar free energy drink that has PewDiePie / Megaman / DBZ flavors. This video was pretty funny but I think most people aren’t looking for the type of product he’s offering so much as they’re looking for a tasty pick me up.
This, i dont think its fair to compare a "gamer" drink to "preworkouts" its "severely underdose" because its not really for that, I think we all know that the gaming industry doesn't need preworkout to sit for 8 hours of gaming lol i love my preworkouts, i love derek and the fitness community but this is comparing Monster energy to Gorilla Mode. And I think its unfair to call them "money grabbers/only for the money" when people like pewds actually love the drink, not the supplement, the drink itself. Like you said, Its a good flavored Caffeine with some nutrition. Not everyone wants to have those nutrition that are needed for BODYBUILDING/EXERCISING.
@@eidolon0170 Exactly the sugar free part of it is the seller for me too. I want my caffeine but its too bitter for me and I dont wanna add so much sugar to just make it taste good. And I think its more efficient than buying a 6 can pack of monster energy that will cost more than just buying a tub that serves 40. At the same time I dont want to drink my preworkouts for my daily activities lmao.
It's difficult to review them because in cans of carbonated drinks, (depending on their target market) it's difficult to find ingredients that are actually effective and can actually sit for long spans of time within carbonation, in an effective dose. So when it comes to premixed energy drinks it's difficult to find any effecatious ingredients that don't degrade in carbonation over time, so in my opinion any energy drink you buy, you are just buying it for the flavour and caffeine. TL;DR: don't buy energy drinks for anything other than caffeine and taste, and it's tough to breakdown with no better alternatives
Well A. It’s because they typically use non-Chinese manufactures and B. Literally the point of youtuber merch is to support the creator. If you’re going to a youtuber’s merch store looking to get the best bang for your buck, I’d say that says a lot more about you than it does the youtuber lol. Do you also go to concerts and and get mad that they sell T shirts for more than $5?
I like how Logic's description is "Twitch Streamer & Music Artist" like he is some dude who got famous on Twitch and also uploads music on occasion. I didn't even know he had a Twitch account tbh xD
it's marketed as a focus and cognitive improvement blend, but obviously as derek says what you're getting is a slap to the face and some nuts on your head
Gfuel is honestly just water flavoring with a few added minor supplements. most of their budget goes to marketing. as per advertising from the content creator goes, i dont watch the others but i do watch felix. i dont remember him ever advertising it as an effective supplement. He always talks about it being tasty and that's all.
That's also a problem don't you think? What about the person that's interested in it? How are they gonna know what it is if he barely says what it is? The viewer will go to the website and see their marketing. The effect is litteraly the same except that he can shift the blame or say "I didn't say anything". That's just as bad imo.
@@w花b What is wrong with the marketing? It is marketed as an alternative to heavily sugared energy drinks aimed at gamers. It is not a pre-workout and is not marketed as such.
Remember clashing with a top destiny2 content creator on Twitter, I said that literally it was just sugar water and his best defense was “ it’s not just that” then he links g fuel web lol like gfuel isn’t going to lie and be bias with his own product 😂😂😂
It's just an alternative to softdrink or kool aid; i've never seen anyone endorse it as a nutritional drink or a health drink or whatever. At least it has 0 sugar.
@@aidanwerner7759 I don’t think I’ve heard any influencers ever promote it like that. I think most people just see it as a tasty drink to replace sodas. I personally wouldn’t drink that stuff but I don’t ever see anyone drinking it with the intent to be super focused or anything.
@@ErneSaurus exactly. I buy gfuel but just drink it for the fruit flavors. I also only use half of scoop because a whole scoop is 140mg of caffeine which is too much for my age I think so I cut it in half
This is probably a dumb question but there is a website call dogfoodadvisor and you can type in any food brand and they will highlight the bad ingredients under red. And anything above 4 stars means it’s completely safe and non cancerous. I wonder if there is a similar website like that but for supplements, pre workouts and protein shakes etc?
It's an open secret. Adderall and beta blockers. It's like gear use in the IFBB or the Olympics. For some reason outsiders can't wrap their mind around the fact that everyone at the top level is using
@@gregbredenko2290 because drugs are bad, mmkay, and society has glorified sobriety and going all natty raw dog, while demonizing using exogenous agents, both for performance enhancing and just general recreational use purposes.
@இந்திரஜீத் more mentally taxing, but not more physically taxing then physically working out so pre-workout would do nothing because your not tearing or damaging your body. The best pre-workout to gaming is coffee, the healthiest being black coffee because it helps with your feeling of being tired, but you dont really need it if you got a good nights sleep, which you should do anyways because it helps with everything.
I mean to be fair most of the time When I see RU-vidrs promote it they just say that it’s a good sugar free energy drink and don’t even mention anything about it “helping” you become better at gaming
As someone whos had gfuel a lot and tried many different pre workouts(including gorilla mind) and energy drinks, its targeted at an entirely different market. We see supplements as metrics that need to be hit but the target market for gfuel is people who want a drink that tastes good and has caffeine. Thats it. They dont care about much more than that.
@@critterdude Foreal ! I was hooked on Gfuel for a bit but don’t drink it anymore but it definitely useful for a quick caffeine/ focus boost and it’s definitely a better alternative to other energy powder out there. I definitely recommend it for someone who gets the jitters from other powders
I can only speculate but I think Derek is in the process of leveraging his knowledge and formulating a gorilla gamer. Because why wouldn’t you take a product with efficacious dosages, and super-physiological cognitive formulations to capture a dub. For the label add a gaining headset to the gorilla mind mascots boom done.
A majority of Derek's video lean towards the "More Classes More Asses" rather that More Plates More Dates. The biochemical fitness, supplementation and dietary information he provides is truly one of a kind on both quality and quantity on this platform. Not to degrade other creators in the industry, but in terms of formal education delivered in an informal method, Derek is king.
They way I view gfuel as someone who has bought it before is a way get some caffeine that tastes good and is zero calories. Never bought it for anything other than the caffeine.
I remeber in the days of Wolfenstein: enemy territory where clans had rule "Drink water, have at least a 1,5 litre bottle next to you when playing a match".
That is the best competitive team multiplayer FPS I've ever played. I hope it gets remade in the same style. The game mechanics and maps are all perfect, it only needs a visual upgrade.
I think gfuel was never really seen by the people it was marketed for (gamers) as some kind of special supplement. For me it was basically just a powderd energy drink that is at least cheaper than buying rockstar or monster energy the whole time. I don't think the average people to buy this buy it for the "focus complex". They just want some caffeine that tastes good and wakes them up.
@@youlaughyouphill842 I've been preaching to my gamer friends about how diet, exercise and sleep will make them feel better physically, mentally, emotionally, etc but they don't want it
@@filipgajewski7170 How it's so over priced for what's basically caffeine and L-citrulline. The doses are decent but you can literally buy those for much cheaper and control your doses. I take 9-10g of L-citrulline, to get that same dose with octane you have to take in ~300mg caffeine.
Not that hard to think why people would use any kind of drug or supplement to give them a edge when playing tournaments for over a million dollars/euros with huge audiences as well. Things like beta blockers for less adrenaline and caffeine to stay up and practice all night, adderall for increased concentration.
Pre-Dish Wash Formula: Totally destroy your next culinary scrub sesh with a unique blend of focus and endurance enhancing ingredients to help you not only get those glasses gleaming, but give you that extra edge to ensure you push through that dirty dish stack with even the pruniest of hands, all with a refreshing lemon scent 🍋 🍋 🍋
@@theirmanager5204 Look, sometimes I hit a wall towards the bottom of the stack and need a little extra carbonated colored sugar water to get those last pieces clean. Some oven baked dishes take a 50+ rep set.
People actually drink it as a supplement? I have been drinking it for years for a little caffeine hit as I don't like to overconsume caffeine. It's not gonna kill you. It's pretty tame compared to other stuff lol
I've been a SEASONED pre workout vet, and these cans of G-Fuel rock my nervous system like never before. I legit projectile vomitted before making it to the toilet and then proceeded to achieve liftoff while my cornhole blasted at max boost. What a fucking ride that Faze Rug edition was man, my nerves were absolutely shot. The flavours taste super synthetic, it's like suckin on dirty pennies while buttchuggin Prime (don't get me started on those).
Been watching the delt god for some time now, i play low level competitive call of duty and when i switched to gorilla mind over shit-fuel i could feel the sauna built around me as i zoned in and annihilated my opponents. On a real tho if you a gamer buy his products, it’s not life altering but the impact from the two products compared, is night and day.
**If anyone is wondering what to buy as a first time buyer for gaming purposes, my recommendation is the Gorilla Mode energy (top link in his bio), if you hyper-respond the caffeine and feel it’s too high using a little over half a scoop is still far superior to gfuel and if you combine it with Gorilla Mode Smooth (his no caffeine nootropic and is typically what i use) you’ll still get some energy with near peak levels of natural focus/concentration. I find i feel overall better and much easier to get “into the zone”
Dude I’m telling you. I remember after a workout I still had gorilla mode energy in my system then I got high after and I was a monster in whatever game I was playing😂
Could you imagine ? 10 years from now the supplement industry is so insane, that you have to drug test before you take a major test. Then you start having “Natty or Not” for the smartest kids in the schools lmao
Uhhhhhhhh This is already happening. I went to a top university and during exam season a friend asked what we thought about taking drugs to being able to concentrate for longer (adderall, etc..). She had friends who did it, idk if she ended up doing it or not, I suggested her not to but people don't necessarily tell you the truth It's extremely common. Ask people who went to top universities and everyone will tell you it happens. Whether you are in the circle that does it or not, it's a known thing. I find it extremely sad, but the standards are so high some people feel they need to do it. For instance, at Oxbridge you have to write multiple papers every week on top of normal work. How can you keep up with studying the material if you have to churn essays weekly?
@@arma2976 it really depends on the cliques of people hey, but yeah a lot of stimulant usage in more prominent unis... I'm quite interested in the general culture of substance abuse at university - alcohol, cognitive enhancments, peds, recreational drugs. All of it way more common than you would think.
@@arma2976 I’ll never understand why people who don’t have any disorders need drugs to focus. Literally limit distractions in your day to day life and you’ll be sharp with everything you do.
@@SnekNyx honestly most kids who do good in school naturally have good focus. Never seem to overwork themselves and they are efficient with everything they do.
This stuff kept me up when I was in college and especially helped when writing English essays. It was a better alternative to drinking Monsters. After a couple of weeks' use, you can't even feel it sadly. I have a high tolerance for caffeine so no surprise there since this only has 140g per serving.
@@mayhulk7514 “get protein powder” omg your beyond clueless. Stop getting nutrition advice from basic fitness influencers and learn how the body actually digests and utilizes nutrition. Blows my mind how people think a scoop of whey protein is some sort of magic and any different than actual food. They make it from dairy byproduct.. a banana will give you energy. Stop wasting money on shitty protein powders this isn’t 2008
You gotta understand that gaming addicts drink ungodly amounts of whatever flavoured drink they choose. So they're gonna have 7-10 of these drinks per day to distract them from their games. Thus the abysmal dosage per serving isn't that bad for them. It is however an absolute ripoff.
It’s not to distract them from their games. That’s so uninformed. No matter what they consume they believe it to be a performance-enhancing supplement. Caffeine is the classic and every drink that has some in it has gotten thorough use because they (in some cases correctly) believe it will increase their positive outcomes in-game and give them other benefits like increased reaction time & etcetera. This is most common with those who play shooters although you can find gamers of all types doing this.
except 7-10 of these drinks is 980 mg caffiene MINIMUM (140 per serving). 400 mg is considered 'safe' for the average as the most before getting heart palpitations or other potential cardiac problems.
@@user-zi8hj5ne1z 400mg is not the mist before experiencing issues. 400mg is simply not problematic at all. 600mg or more CAN cause issues, and you can quickly build up a tolerance for caffeine. 980mg is a very large and certainly unhealthy amount of caffeine, but it's not like it will give your average caffeine chugging gamer a heart attack. Not straight away at least.
@@kevthebassist7150 Flavours you won't find anywhere else -> do a juice by yourself and see if you can't do these flavours. It's not like it's been synthesized in laboratory so you just gotta find the components that give texture and flavour and you good to go
14:00 this is the content I love and keeps me coming back man. Killing it as always Derek! thanks for the no BS, solid information and keeping transparency with big name products.
I had thought about getting gfuel in the past, just ordered gorilla mind instead. Thank you for opening my eyes to my ignorance with an excellent informative video!
bruh some people just like having rgb in gaming rigs as it makes it look better if done right. although i understand where youre coming from, as rainbow rgb is so boring and overused
RGB looks great tho makes my room look like a club with all the rgb and neon lights. Also rgb strips literally cost $20 for 33ft and that will cover an L shaped desk. RGB bulbs cost $10 each. It's not expensive at all compared to overpriced G Fuel. $20 for a pack of 6 lmao
I've tried GFuel and the first time I get the pre-workout tingle but after that literally nothing. Just an expensive way to flavour my water now until its gone.
I get what you're saying Derek, but you need to understand this is just an energy drink for people who play videogames for long periods of time. Is not like a pre-workout like yours. I love both tho, i take Gfuel on my weekends when i play videogames for 5 hours straight and it tastes good. Then i take GorillaMode 2-3 times a week for my workout.
My tub shipped like 4 days ago cuz I’ve been a longtime customer since I need a coffee replacement cuz I hate it. It sucks that I have to stop drinking it, tastes so good.
Who says you have to stop drinking it? It's a quite cheap coffee replacement that tastes really good! Yeah the formula is lackluster, but as a simple energy drink, it's quite good for its price! You get a delicious caffeinated drink at a low price!
Idk man. I used to drink coffee all day or energy drinks loaded with half a cup of sugar. And now I drink gfuel, no jitters, energy all day, no crash. Best switch for energy I ever made.
As a former c4, jack3d 1,3 dimethyl junkie I believe gfuel was aiming at this products not a prework out but healthier then monster, rockstar but also doesn’t have that good good you need for working out
