I have a question for you , and your answer will be quite important for me :) First of all I am a physicst in academia and macbook user for years. but last year after the M1 and M2 processors, all the programs I use became useless. or they run in rosetta. so I switched everything to Windows platform. iMac to AMD CPU desktop ipad to Samsung tab series iphone to Android phone. I am happy all these decisions but still I could not decide for the laptop. Now I have macbook air m1 which I just use for media and browsing. I mostly use Matlab, python, ray tracing simulations, a lot of inkscape, lots of mails. and I do them in my powerful desktop. But I travel a lot, I go conferences, research stays and having a macbook makes my life hard. only good part it lasts 15 hours, battery life is crazy but it has no meaning if I can not for anything. So I was about to buy Lenovo thinkpad z13 with amd 6650u CPU which offers crazy amount of battery life similar to Macbook air m1. Then now I saw your video and cancelled the order. Thinkpad z13 and Asus rog g14 2022 is almost the same price. and compare to what g14 offers z13 is not more than a fancy businesman computer. so if I come to my question :) I do not need that external GPU if I don't play game. I do not need huge computation power in the conferences. Just editing my Google slides until my talk. If I turn on ECO mode for boht CPU and GPU, decrease refresh rate and brightness, would I get 8-10 hours screen on time productivity? or that 8-10 hours you mentioned is not fully screen on time?
i'm getting an easy 7-8 hours on Eco mode, so far. I hear there are other tricks to extend the batttery life on this machine, such as "undervolting" so yeah, this 2022 G14 machine has great potential. I bought my laptop for my graduate studies, it should suffice.
Hi, when you’re sitting on the couch and the laptop on your legs, and you’re just browsing or watching RU-vid so no gaming or high processing, and you’re wearing shorts or very light pants, is it comfortable or does the back of the laptop sitting on that thin edge make you uncomfortable? Also how’s the heat in that use case?
@@semicomprehensivereviewer apart from heat, the keyboard gets lifted up so the back of the laptop is standing on your legs on just a thin edge, doesn’t that hurt or make the sitting uncomfortable when you compare it to traditional laptops?
now i am hesitate between legion pro5i core i9 13900hx 4070 ddr5 32 bus 5600 and rog strix g16 13980hx 4070 ddr5 bus 4800 (can up grade to 5600 later) at same price which one should i get?
Hey, when I do office surfing RU-vid , low demanding things . Will the fans speed up ? I don’t want to hear them @ these kind of things :) Looked like I can put them to 0 rpm in Asuses Programm.
There's a quiet mode you can enable in the settings that will reduce fan speeds and make less noise. However keep in mind if you do anything more than web browsing or light work the laptop will heat up.
