From everything I’ve heard about JJ he actually wasn’t that and was borrowing his sisters sneakers to play ball in HS, but he got lumped in with the Bobby Hurley’s and Christian Laettner’s. It also doesn’t help that he was a fantastic player and is still the all-time leading scorer for Duke.
