Your tag was “the best” yet you denied us “the Best” by recommending “we choose” and it left me in the same place I was before watching. We’re looking for your expertise and honest opinion of which one was “the best”…

Buy the Leica, or Swarovski if you have the extra dollar. Victoria Harpia, 115 BTX

So basically this is just y'all messing around with 10-15k worth of glass, and in the end you can't choose. So you're line is, "pick the one that's best for you..." Not really much of a review. Is what it is. Sheep need to be corralled and led to the right product, since they can't make a choice on their own. Not that I'm a sheep, because I already know what's the best in my opinion (price point and quality.) I already understand that it's very difficult to see the difference between the top tier models, and it basically comes down to price and comfort.

No Swarovski?!?!?!
@bradleyjohnson3068

Agreed. You don't call it a comparison of top glass without Swarovski in the line up.

Overrated. They've been the same forever, where every other brand has been improving. But... they are clean, clear and light. With all the improvements in glass in the past 10 years or so, you really can't go wrong with most manufacturers (top tier models)

And no Kowa....

I think it was limited to what manufacturers sent them free spotting scopes for this youtube video. That's how it really works. Of course Swarovski and Kowa weren't going to send them free spotters and everyone who are not totally ignotant already knows they are the best brands that money can buy.

@@ndbowhunting9200 I was really shocked when I found out the Vortex Razor and Leupold were made in CHINA. What is this world coming to?
@johnp5139
@johnp5139 Год назад
How about where a scope is made? For instance Leupold made in US vs Vortex made in China or the Phillippines, does where it's made play a factor when choosing?

It’s more of a two friends chat, please be more specific and call things as is in regard of the scopes.

No model numbers, no conclusion...guys did you read your own title?
@dslade353

Not a good review. Not sure what anyone was supposed to take away. Kowa should be in any discussion with the title "Best" and Leupold, not!

The top brands for spotting scopes are Swaro, Kowa and Zeiss. The Vortexes and Sigs of the world are not even in the competition.

Can you provide the specific models that you evaluated?
@EastmansHuntingJournals
@EastmansHuntingJournals 2 года назад
Absolutely. Here's the lists: Leica APO Televid 25-50x82mm, Leupold Gold Ring GR 20-60x80mm, Sig Sauer Oscar 8 27-55x80mm, Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85 mm and Zeiss Harpia 22-65x80mm.

How do you think the maven would compare to this line up?
@commonsense5709
@commonsense5709 10 месяцев назад
The Maven would have been neck with a Leupold SX5 Santiam 27-55x80 had this current top of the line USA made Leupold been added to this comparison. IMHO Maven is really on the pricey side considering they are direct to consumer without any middlemen.

Vortex really shouldn't be in the comp. Has anyone else notice Vortex image shrinks as it zoomed out? Bad internal glare.
@gollygeewillickersbatman1824
@gollygeewillickersbatman1824 2 года назад
It would have been more apples-to-apples if you guys had a Leupold SX-5 Santiam 27-55x80 Angled Spotter in the mix since rest of the scopes are all angled spotters. Who knows, you probably would have even found your Elk too. But it would have been a much shorter video though, since the SX-5 would have given you guys even less to talk about, since all you could basically come up with was differentiating / complaining about the straight eyepiece design on the Leupold Gold Ring spotter, which definitely has its place in life. But I agree that the better optics manufacturers have made some pretty big strides in last 10 years, for sure. However, that only begs one very obvious question, namely: where's your Swarovski BTX rig hiding at? Oh well, there goes another 9 minutes that I'll never get back. Just messing with you guys. God bless and take care!
