At the end of WW2, a disgraced kamikaze pilot named Koichi returns home to find it devastated. Over time he builds a life for himself and an adopted daughter and woman he takes in, but the appearance of a mutated and giant monster known as Godzilla threatens everything Koichi worked for, and his sanity itself.
