Thanks a lot for this review and informations in the comment section. I wanted to replace my SKB Bass Safe for some time already but I had doubts about this one because of the soft top. Good to know that it can protect the bass from the delicate treatment of airport employees :)
In good condition! The airlines always bash it about a bit, but it’s okay. I’ve probably used it less than I thought I might, having not known COVID was impending, but it’s a good piece of kit! T
Is the top portion also hard underneath/in between the padding? I’m worried about another hard shells corner banging it up through the padding, I’ve seen it happen before. I’d appreciate any feedback, thank you!
I’m not sure I’ve quite understood this! Could you explain which part more specifically? The top half of the case is hard, looking at it sideways, and then there’s a hard layer that divides in between where the bass and the other items live. T
@@TylerSpicer sorry if I’m not clear, hard to explain. The part that opens separating the basses from other items (lookin at it sideways). Is the hard shell covering the front of the basses, also? Or is it just hard foam?
@@haneyhanes Just received one of these for an acoustic guitar and am going to return it. The top is fabric. Not hard. Zero protection. The middle layer is the foam/light plastic padding that flexes like a soft case and it's in contact with the bridge when zipped up. Any added pressure from gear/clothes in the pocket over the bridge plus anything running into the fabric top would push the foam layer into the bridge. I zipped up the empty middle layer and put some body weight on it and it sunk in. If the top used the polycarbonate material used on the sides, there would be no issue. The electric design might be alright for solid bodies but I think they just tweaked the size and didn't think through the acoustic case.
@@lahloonatic yea I came across it a lil after this lol I ended up getting the mono duo case I love it!! I didn’t like how on this one the stack on top on each other
It held up really well. Did take some knocks and scrapes but nothing as bad as my SKB bass safe did, and looks much more presentable. Always amazed at how much stuff you can get into it! T
@@TylerSpicer how are you flying with it? are you checking it? and have you had any problems? i joined a band that is over 10 hrs away from me so i plan to fly mostly but ive been trying to figure out the best way to transport my guitars
@@micahrichardson9646 I check it and it’s been absolutely great - though has the usual scuffs that anything that gets checked gets! It’s definitely too big for carry on… T
