The Best Gun Stock for VR Shooters 

I got the Sanlaki 3D-printed gun stock, and it's great. It definitely took quite some time to get used to, but once you do it's amazing. My accuracy got ten times better and it increases the immersion like crazy. Also, I've been travelling a lot with it, and it hasn't broken yet, so over-tightening it is really the only thing you have to look out for. Other than that, it's a great gun stock and I also highly recommend you try it if you're looking for a gunstock

I'm a ProTube early adopter and it's awesome seeing more people checking out VR gun stocks now as VR gets more mainstream. 4 years and multiple seasons in VRML with the ProTube and it still looks and works like the day I bought it, minus the strap which broke so I made my own. I can't imagine using a different stock at this point, I'm just too used to it, but it's awesome seeing the other options on the market.

Well, I'm surprised that the gun stock concepts haven't moved toward a spring/rope/pulley design yet. Basically, link the off-hand to an adjustable rope with just a tiny bit of pull strength as to guide the hand back toward the gun's resting point. With a proper mechanism, you could have a single button being pressed on the gun to readjust the resting points. (Press the button, ropes gets loose in the gun and you can place your hands/points where you want them then release the button and the ropes are now fixed kinda like muscles) Balancing weight with a rope system is rather simple and while magnet gets demagnetized over time, a rope-pulley design usually allow ropes to be replaced. Kinda like a compound adjustable crossbow.

If you want to be really cheap, and I mean really cheap, also if you play Pavlov. Just turn on virtual stock and brace your dominate hand against your off hand's forearm. It works pretty well for me.

Just got the Magni Stock+ yesterday and it took me 10 minutes to get used to it. It's still a good stock and simple, not too fancy.

U are for sure one of the better RU-vidrs I’ve found for the vr gun stock videos every other one seem very biased and try way too hard to be funny. Your editing is also very good too many stay in the same frame or don’t cut out enough unnecessary commentary so keep up the good work 👍

I generally use a cardboard stock i made and a lanyard attached to it. It works really well but i had to make it bigger after some time. It works grate for most guns i use go straight to where i want. Perfectly placed where in want but p90 works ok on it and for pistols i just let it hang and use no stock for it. the cardboard doesnt add to much wight and is really light but you have to replace the cups sometimes as it can break after time i use toiletpaper rolls for the cups and remember to dissinfect the cardboard.

So I bypassed the whole gunstock issue and saved myself a bunch of money in the process, here's how: 1) replace the lanyard of the off-hand controller with a longer loop of paracord. I made my finished loop about 14", but this will vary depending on your arm length and what's comfortable to you.. I also added a short length of tubing to the middle of the loop for extra padding, you'll see why in the next steps. 2) when in game, hook that long loop with the pinky finger of your trigger hand, and pull tight, pushing your off hand away, as though you're aiming down a rifle sight. It's hard to explain, but obvious when you have it in your hands. 3) the tension increases accuracy 3-4x, and you don't have to release it to reload in most cases. Don't pull too hard (you'll learn the right tension over time), or you'll cause fatigue in your pinky finger. 4) If you need to interact with the game UI, or switch to a different weapon, just drop the loop. To pick it back up, swing the loop and catch it with your pinky. It sounds hard but once you get the hang of it, it's almost instant. The little extra weight of the tubing/padding helps as a locator for this as well. Reloads are super easy as well, since there's no extra resistance from magnets or anything. This simple mod has saved me a bunch of money, since I don't need a stock. Plus, I can play anywhere and not have to haul around extra gear. I also don't look like a terrorist to my neighbors. 😉 Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to help. Happy gaming!

Idk if its because the psvr has really good tracking but after printing a bunch of shoulder stocks I have found that i prefer 2 points of contact over 3. 3 is kinda cumbersome and 2 is quick and agile / maneuverable.

I'm blown away that manufacturers haven't made standalone rifle VR accessories like the old Wii shooter days. We have electrifying vests, finger trackers, omni-directional treadmills, etc. But nothing that allows for a rifle *and* controllers.

I'm pretty sure that it can work on the Rift S too, just compared the ring size and they're pretty much the same

Btw 5th point of contact supposed to be your sling, attach to front and back and adjust until its perfectly tight whenever aiming

Haha I use an old guitar stand that I cut the end off of. The piece that holds the guitar's neck can be bent and fits perfectly on my left (trigger) controller. Then I just hold the other controller to the end of the pipe, letting the pipe press my grip button as I'm holding the controller against the pipe :D It's only two points of contact, but it works for me. And reloading is quick too, because the controller makes contact with the pipe where you're holding the controller, not 15cm below.

I can vouch for the Sanlaki gun stock. I got the elite which has adjustable buttstock and rotating blocker, plus the shoulder strap so you can go gunstock-free. It takes some getting used to, but if you have good muscle memory it's actually quite easy to reload. The trick for magnets is to pull down and out for a swift release. Now I have to work on pistols and throwing grenades.

That last one might be best to swap colors to neon orange or lime green as well

kobra sidewinder user here ! perfect for me, relatively affordable, lightweight, tough. it's got 3d printed parts, but they won't snap on you unless you're messin with em. and the stock is pretty strong, or as strong as a folding stock can be

I just sawed the stock off the Wii hunting game accessory gun and duct-taped it to my right Oculus controller.

For the feel of a real gun front end weight I'm used to it.

Id love to see the higg gun stock, obviously with quality improvements. The idea is great, making the vr controllers into a whole other controller, instead of trying to work around them While it is cool to be styled like an M4, I think it would have been better for them to omit the styling and just keep the necessary parts for their design, and of course its probably best that it doesn't look like an actual rifle (at least should have the orange muzzle tip to indicate its not a firearm)

I have some issues with the Sanlaki 3D Print. Apperantly the gunstock blocks the visual signal from the headset to the controllers while I aim and I get some major virtual gun drift. Does it also happends with you guys? Any possible fixes?

i have the glisco magnistock and iv had no problem with any flexability issues the only problem iv had is the handle cups breaking and making them lose. fixed by a roll of duck tape.

So all the stocks but 2 make it more like a real one with the weight so those are more for the realistic player I kinda like it

I use the VRX-15 the controllers link together to use a handgun/blade. It's made by Elvish Tac. It is 3D printed and carbon fiber.

My main problem with stocks is they inhibit movement in games like h3vr but they work great in games like pavlov

If the Glitco gun stock is falling out of its cups then i just like putting my entire weight on the controllers until you feel like its stuck with the cup

Okay, the glistco magnistock has served me well for a year and a half of rigorous service, some things to look out for though: The sling it came with can bend at the attachment points really easily so be looking at those so you don’t drop the stock, or get a third party sling The hexagonal pattern on the cups is really cool, but it will crack and fall off over time, just make sure you don’t take the pieces off and the friction fitting still works just fine Try not to have a big drop on the cheek rest, it can damage that height setting and you’ll have to go to the setting above or below it which might throw off your muscle memory and make you search for a sight picture I still do recommend the glistco magnistock for anyone who wants to play with a stock but is a more casual gamer or is a student who can’t quite justify spending a protube amount of money

The psvr aim controller is just so incredibly simple by design and comfortable af. That is what we need for pcvr/standalone vr. Not some inspector gadget shit

I had a gun stock that had the controllers that go underneath the gun but after a few play sessions you tend to notice that the tracking of the controller tends to fail pretty easily, this is because the plastic above the controller is thick and the tracking rings can not be detected by the headset so buy carefully.

now all you need is a runnin pad so you can actuly run wile shooting with the stock

I have MagTube and I think it's the best vr gunstock platform currently. I managed to make it more comfortable and be able to precisely shoot from dual wielding, which is banned on Pavlov pro scene. I wonder waht in 10+ years vr gunstocks would be cable of?

I got the glistco a few months after making a stock out of a big wooden dowel a guitar strap cardboard and tape. ive been regularly the glistco stock for 3 years now and havent even thought about upgrading.

I wish the ProTube connected below and not above. That would make it a no brainer on purchase.

VR definitely needs full reworking on controllers for shooter to become good. I wouldn't mind having to buy different stocks for different guns if it were all seamless.

I made a gun stock on a plastic PCP pipe and a real stock and made it just for shotguns in Pavlov now I kick ass with shotguns

I don't think I could use the hig because I'd probably end up dropping the battery a ton and I'd be worried that if I trained myself to not drop the battery then I would also be training myself to not reload when at the actual range lmao
