Freeze dried or dehydrated pet food treats are the healthiest treats that I have found because most have one ingredient only and no fillers nor grains. It’s important to check the labels for list of ingredients to confirm. The best deal is at Costco. But there is a serious concern with dehydrated or freeze dried pet foods that needs to be openly addressed. These are great pet food options, but ONLY IF the pet food is properly hydrated before feeding it to your pet. Some pets suffered blockages from eating some dehydrated food before water was added. Dr. Laurie Coger told us she’s treated dogs for blockages when owners have unknowingly allowed the dog access to dehydrated foods prior to moisture being added. Dr. Karen Becker told us “the number of animals eating unreconstituted freeze dried or dehydrated food that are hospitalized for enemas or possible obstructions are alarming. I love these food categories, but freeze dried or dehydrated foods should be fed rehydrated and not dry.” What happens when pets eat a dehydrated or freeze dried food prior to properly hydrating the food? The pet food rehydrates itself in your pet’s body, swells with the moisture and can cause an intestinal blockage. Many pets could be saved from unnecessary medical treatment IF manufacturers added a simple alert to the pet food label: DO NOT feed dry - add moisture before feeding to your pet. Freeze dried or dehydrated pet foods can cause intestinal blockages if not properly hydrated before feeding.

They're so lovely! So eager for treats! I only give Cleo treats when she's learning a new skill. I'll see if I can get any of these healthy treats in Denmark. So far, she knows the basic like sit, handshake, high five and stand. I'm inspired by the bell. I think I'll get her one, too! Thanks for this vid! 🙂

I love Teemo and Aria!!! Great treat video. I'm glad you said you only give them treats twice a week. I only gave my Oliver treats twice a week. He was a Lilac point Ragdoll. He crossed the rainbow bridge several years ago. It was simply old age. I still miss him. I truly enjoy your videos. They are very informative and I so enjoy your kitties. Gina Hetlage 🐈🐈

Yeah I don't want the treats to make up most of their diet. Since its doesn't have all the nutrition they need. And I am keeping their weight in check. Hope that helps!

New subscriber here. We have a new cat from my fiance's job. Female cat. We gave her a bath and we bought the chura treat just a packet of it. I gave it to her just a little bit ago. Probably shouldn't have given her treats late at night. She ate the whole thing to. I won't give her treats everyday though.

Hi, I just found your channel a few days ago and I love your videos. I do have a RU-vid channel about my 4 cats as well. It’s so much fun to make videos about cat content 😻😹. And Teemo looks adorable with his red hat. I like your idea with the bell to ring for treats. Maybe I try to teach this to Maxi, our male cat. He likes to clicker with me, and does a lot of tricks by his young age of 1. I think he should be able to learn to ring a bell as well. Is it ok if I feed my cat dry food with water in same bowl in morning, dry food on its own in the early afternoon and raw meat in the evening? ( There is water provided in every meal)

Add water definitely helps and having raw meat is good! Kibble still has the carbs and sugar. If you could maybe have a wet food high in protein instead of the dry that would be good.

Hey good question! For the freeze dried treats you can just seal the treat and store in your cabinets. For the lickable treats if unopened you can also store in the cabinets. If opened you should have your cat finish. Hope that helps!

My girl cat is picky and she does not eat crunchy or freeze dried treats, she only eats soft moist treats. She is 4 years old and last Dec there’s blood on her toothbrush when I was brushing Ng her teeth and part of her gum was inflamed and red so I took her to the vet, after taking dental x-rays we found that she had a rotten canine tooth so that tooth was extracted, I am very sure the tooth absorption was due to the treats she ate all these years because I do not feed her dry food, dry food is way worst than wet food as carbohydrates in dry food would have made the dental problem worst. She never eats dry food or kibbles or dry treats all her life. Anyways I tried to feed her freeze dried treats but she would not eat any so my only option for her treats is Churu treats which she loves. I give her at least one Churu treat everyday before brushing her teeth!
