if your sync button on Xbox 1 is broken or if your USB isn't working or both. this way will let you sync your wireless controller no matter what. do not touch any other connectors in the process I am not liable or responsible if you do this incorrectly but simple easy to follow instructions.
all you need is any strand of wire that can be separated into smaller strands. one small strand is all you need

I looked EVERYWHERE to find a solution to my sync button not working, as I was trying to connect my headset rather than a controller. Unfortunately my headset wasn't able to be synced via usb, so this video worked PERFECTLY for me. It was a pain to take apart my xbox to get to the white connector, but one I did it was really simple to get the sync button activated. Thank you for the video!

Just remove the battery pack, plug the controller in with a micro-USB cable, press the big center home button on the controller as soon as it vibrates and it is now connected to the Xbox. Unplug and reinstall battery pack and you are good to go. No taking apart controllers, no taking apart xbox's, works on Xbox one and Xbox X-series. Doing it the way this video shows and you are at huge risk of damaging your Xbox and voiding your warranty if you have one.

@@justpassingby3409 exactly, I probably watched the same video as you lol. My kids were down a controller since they got their x-series because the sync button is jammed and it's synced to their Xbox one. I watched so many videos on how to take apart the controller but the people rush through it so fast and I didn't feel comfortable breaking it because I really didn't want to spend another $80 lol.

Your Xbox is missing the connect button it’s a black plastic piece that sits under the tab when you push it in it will click someone took it out already that’s why it’s broke

where the ribbon cable connects to the board from the faceplate. theres a rectangle white connector. the tiny wires coming from that connector to theboard are exposed a little. find the center wire of the connector. go one left and one right. those 2 wires need to make a connection to trigger the syncing. all ur doing is making a jumper wire basically to touch the 2 pins or wires of that connector on the board side of the connector and it will make it sync
