I look at these hunting e-bikes as a work horse to be able to get into places a 4 wheeler can’t do quietly ! One thing became apparent with a mid drive in crossing thick fields , the chain and sprocket , while pedaling , picks up brush in the chain & sprockets . The chain comes off or the debris causes a lockup ! I prefer a hub drive that can pull you through these conditions without pedaling ! The other issue or concern has to do with the tires ! I want a tire with a strong enough sidewall that won’t come off the rim if the tire goes flat . Allowing you to walk the e-bike out under motor assist until repairs can be made . In most cases the battery will give you what you need with distance but a strong torquier motor is a must . Full suspension or not would be up to personal preference . For me , covering distance quickly , a full suspension is my choice . The manufacturer needs to have good accessories in forward lights , sturdy front and rear racks and fenders that keep mud off you !
I looked all over RU-vid for an e-mountain bike (E-MTB) for hunting big game here in Nevada. After seeing my buddy's E-Cells brand bike I got one too. It's an E-CELLS Super Monarch Crown - 2 wheel drive (two 750 watt BAFANG motors), 2 batteries, dual suspension, 9 pedal assist levels OR just use the throttle alone. $5,100. before tax! To me, while that is not inexpensive, it is still a bargain considering all the quality components included. PLUS the company HQ is in Pahrump, Nevada, only 60 miles from my home in Henderson, NV (beside Las Vegas). The E-Cells SMC E-MTB is very reliable and VERY capable on rugged trails. It has a 400 pound load limit (including rider and his gear). I'm using it this year for antelope hunting.
