rose rose I get that if taken within the context of American pop culture and Western societies, one might say that it’s discriminatory but they’re in Asia and there is a tendency to say so in their native language. (And other Asian languages too) When translated literally and directly without the translator constantly thinking about political correctness, it gets translated that way... I don’t see why it is uncomfortable (Again. Asians don’t see being of darker complexion or having tan skin as 100% a reflection of discriminating against dark skin. I bet this has been said countless times everywhere. Historically, Asians think of tan skin as related to those working class (eg farmers) who have to work under the sun and have tan skin.) I get that there is some pursuit for political correctness due to the oppression faced by POCs, especially Black people. But still...
