Jim, that is so cool to be able to tip the tray and make space in the freezer!! I'm always spilling the trays when I'm trying to load them into the freezer. Now, problem solved!! They are a pit pricey but I have to order these! Thanks for the great review!

Yeah, it is really cool to be able to tip these covered ice cube trays without them spilling! I like how easily the cubes come out of the tray as well!

Jim, Storing them sideways has the potential to really save space in the freezer as well. Oxo has always been a great brand for us. Even when we have issues with their products, it's been great because their customer service and warranties are so good. Never tried the ice cube trays though. Thanks for the review.

They are Great! All you have to do is, twist it a little. I have one and living it! 👍😊👍 I bought mine from Bed Bath & Beyond. A while ago. Which they are closing down. 😞

Finally, a recent comment like mine. I'm pretty sure I had TWO Oxo ice trays. I've pulled just one out of my boxes from moving. The one I'm using now has the hard plastic (blue) lid that SLIDES on. I'm almost certain the other Oxo tray packed away has this flexible silicone lid. Time to dig through my still packed boxes and see if I can find the other one.

Our trays pop out the ice much better when we use hot water. This was something my wife remembered from high school. We don't have the type of trays you have there but they sure do seem to be very cool. Thanks for sharing!

I just hold my ice trays on each end and twist. The cubes just pop out rather than doing each cube individually.

I've been eyeing these at my Kroger. Well you clenched it. I'm going to buy one. I'm 63 and arthritis is kinda bugging me. I'd have OXO everything in my kitchen if I could afford it!!

A large majority of the one star reviews on amazon says that there's a lingering smell after long term use with the oxo ice cube tray. And upon reading more reviews with various ice cube tray that uses silicone, smell is an issue either immediately or after long term use (i.e. plus or minus a year). Even washing apparently doesn't really help.

I'm still using these and I haven't really noticed a bad smell.
