There's no such thing as a GOAT because eras can't be comparable to each other, it's impossible. But we can say safely he's the best striker of this century by far.
The fact that Messi had a goal contribution almost every 45 minutes tells you enough that may have been the greatest individual season of all time. Especially in the contemporary era. Imagine being almost guaranteed two goals a game as long as Messi was playing. Whether if it came from Messi or Messi ended up assisting the goal.
@@nmslaying8010That’s what people who put Messi down forget. He has been doubled, even tripled up throughout his career. I remember when Mourinho played Pepe in midfield in order to stop his influence in the middle of the pitch.
Imagine scoring two goals against one team.. And scoring 3 goals the next match... Scoring 4 goals a few more matches later.. then scoring 5 goals in the next match... That consistency is insane.. Breaking a team all time goal scoring record.. and setting an all time record of being the only player to score 91 goals in a year
As a madrid fan, I envy the fact that barcelona got to have messi play on their team. If I'm being honestly, I think the most incredible part of all of this is that, this wasn't even the most incredible things messi has actually done.
Not only the goals but almost all of his performances were stellar, and all of them by playing on his own. Probably Håland or some other guy will match it but by scoring easy goals provided by the team.
Leo scored both the easy goals and the hard ones, I doubt Haaland or Mbappe could ever reach his performance, because they don't bring as much to the team as Leo did.
@@vespasiancloscan7077 Neither one of them can see the game developing as quickly as Messi; not even close. Credit to Barca though; Messi had a whole team of guys like him with big football brains, as shown by Spain's success in those years. Until about 2017 or 18, Messi NEVER had to play on his own, no more than CR7 did. They were surrounded by world class passers and playmakers for most of their careers. Messi had Iniesta, Xavi and Sergio. CR7 had Benz, Kroos and Modric.
"The south American would drop into midfield to pick up the ball from his false 9 position and take control in the ongoing throng".. one thing Ronaldo would but dream of. There are levels to what is called "GOAT"
This comment just show how small is your brain actually is 😂 you definitely never saw a match of CR7 before last year + why are you so obsessed with Cris ? He's living in your head
calling messi "one of the 2 goats" might be the most disrespectful things i have heard. Career wise he is clear + who is the better footballer should have never been questioned
@@DrBurg-by6kj if you base it on goals and assist only. There is ceartinely a case to be made for 2019 when he was simply outstanding but Barcelona were a lot worse or in 2015 when he was even more of a playmaker but shared the numbers with Suarez and Neymar
@@sigurdnf9121let's not forget the défenders he went against are Weaker than 2009 2012 era The dude went against weak spurs man u defenses Young messi destroyed prime man u chelsea real madrid... defenses
Dribbling some players bfor scoring is one of what Ronaldo dreams from messi. He knows dribbling is one of why messi is loved by many and that's what he ain't good at. Messi is incredible, Ronaldo can only dream
Ofc a delusional Messi rider.. Ronaldo was a great dribbler and passer but Idk if Messi ever dreamed of scoring thunder goals from 40 yards and headers that too with like 5 different teams..
@@agztmarreacts3655 Cr7 won nothing. He was on the bench fool. But, messi ended the debate by scoring 1 non penalty goal in final and winning motm too.
@@nishant54 haha idiot… he carried that squad literally.. Messi was carried with penalties throughout the whole freaken tournament. For crying out loud the president of Qatar wanted Messi to win the WC..it was so obvious.
Marcus Thuram🗣️: "When I Was 10, I Went To See My Father's Training Session In Barcelona And I Didn't Have Boots…Leo Was Wearing Almost The Same Shoes Size As Me. Messi Lent Me His Boots, I Played And Then He Told Me 'Take Them'. At 10 Years Old, I Didn't Realize What Had Just Happened, So The Next Day I Gave Them To A Friend. I Regret It."
ronaldo seen as a better marksmen ? only by bias fans... messi has better numbers, efficiency and capability... 6 golden boots... 50...in a league season, 73 in a season... 91 in a year.. way more accurate shooter with freekicks and outside the box goals... ronaldo needs alot of penalties just 2 pad his stats and hang with messi.... nobody in the right mind would say hes actually a better finisher... messi is the best finisher, playmaker..and dribbler... all in 1 player... he is the goat... its not an opinion, its a simple fact
These days new fans thing haaland is sooooo good. Imagine doing what haaland did by yourseld for the most part 😂. Im a city fan but haaland is only a good goal scorer nothing more for now.
Ronaldo's 2007/2008,and 2008/2009 beat any single season by any player Ever. It was when He showed to the World who was the most Powerfull and Dominant Force in the Game, until this day.
@@SHOTBYWAVO who said Ronaldo Season wise 42 goals But balloon dor based on year wise In 2008 Ronaldo score 35 GOALS 12 Assist And 10 Honours+ 4 trophy And scoring 91 goals not cup of tea And Ronaldos prime was in 2013 when score 69 goals
2012: Lionel Messi just went another level that can never be repeated nor emulated. 50 La Liga goals in a single season and in Europe's top 5 leagues. 91 goals in a single calendar year. No question that was Lionel Messi at his peak and won his 4th straight Ballon D'or to add to his legacy.
Ronaldo actually reached those heights and even eclipsed them: Messi scored in La Liga 50 goals in 37 matches. Ronaldo scored in La Liga 48 goals in 35 matches. Messi scored in UCL 14 goals in 11 matches. Ronaldo scored in UCL 17 goals in 11 matches. Ronaldo also scored in UCL 16 goals and 15 goals in different seasons. Ronaldo in 2016-17 season scored in UCL 12 goals, while scoring 10 goals in the KO stages (most ever) and he did it without pens.
@@sc-sportscompilations5753 messi did them all in one season tho thats why its so insane + when CR scored 12 goals he played 13 matches, same UCL season messi scored 11 in 8 but they got knocked out. not saying that cristiano's UCL campaign wasn't incredible but i think messi can and has achieved as much if not more than ronaldo
Another fact that most have forgotten was Barca were in the middle of transition from Pep to Tito who could not even sit on the bench for whole season as he was suffering cancer i believe and Jordi Roura took over temporarily in his absence. Even though there was instability in management side, he still performed better.
@@vespasiancloscan7077 I think he was really close to his peak in 18/19 as well, if not for capitulation against Liverpool we would've won the UCL and Messi was scoring free kicks almost every week
@@vespasiancloscan7077that's what I always say. 28 goals in the first 20 matches is not normal. He scored 48 goals in La Liga that season. I bet he could have hit near 60 if he had played all the games. And if Guardiola had stayed in that year I think they would have had a good chance of beating Bayern and getting 100+ points in La Liga with more than 120 goals. And it would have been recognized as the best year for Messi himself, even better than 2015
According to me messi has 9 primes,2009,2010,2011,2012,2015,2017,2019,2022 and now in miami he is cooking as well BTW..he is playing in his prime since 2007
It’s not down to personal preference at all ,it’s a fact Messi is a footballer who just happens to be so good he can compete stats wise with goal scorers .
imagine being part of that squad at the time and having messi at the absolute peak of his powers as a teammate, what a joy to behold it must have been. xD
"Even Ronaldo who is often seen as a better marksman couldn't rival" that alone is a level of joy on its own! Messi has shown who's the boss all his life but critics would always be critics
only man in FC24 deserve a 99 finishing rate was 2011-2012 messi. 73 goal a season, 91 goal a year. over 100 g+a goal contribution, this is peak striker. no one can break this record in the decades to come.
Goat version messi I've seen in different years. 2011, unbelievable in all competitions. 53 goals and over 30 assists. Big moments in all games. 2012. Crazy numbers even if he didn't win the big trophies. 2015 transition to playmaker. Sied loads of goals and assists. Big moments in big games. 2019 season one man army. Other seasons hes done well but for me them 4 stand out
He's the best ever by far. From 2011/12 to 12/13 He was insanely ridiculous scoring 96 goals in 69 league games. The last goal in his hat trick against Brazil in 2012 confirmed to me that Messi is the GOAT.
Is Messi short? I would say no, in his time, definitely not short. I would argue his height is perfect for a baller. I think all ballers are under 5’9 (175cm)
@@samplingmastersxlr8660 he has all of them but not a single one mastered that still enough to give him on the same table He also has amazing goalscoring
Too bad most of his achievements were surrounded by controversy with disgraceful games in the CL against Chelsea and PSG, tournaments changing rules and awarding record number of penalties for him to win, his clubs paying for his awards, him playing in low tier leagues instead of playing against the best and scoring 1 goal in a retirement league and still getting awards for best player. A joke of a career really.
So 2 rigged champions league games now makes a career a joke lol and u say penalties without penalties messi has 15 more goals than ronaldo😂😂😂 and also u gonna talk bout real madrid vs bayern juve vs athletico madrid vs athletico where he scored 7 offside goals in 3 matches😂😂😂
