Hey man! Love the vids but had a question. So I use an iMac for my day-to-day work and stuff but for portability, I was wondering if you'd recommend just getting an iPad to write notes, code, etc etc or just play it safe and get a laptop? Thanks!

I think the iPad is really good for portability, especially if you already have an iMac. That's what I mainly use it for, to go to coffee shops, parks, etc.

Im starting my undergrad in CS next week i need ur opinion. I have a powrful pc at home but i obviously cant take that with me to uni. Do you think i should get a laptop or an ipad for note taking. ( i always thought ipad would be better because it saves me from getting notebooks and pens for maths classes but im woried that ill have to code on the spot )

I’d say if you already have a PC that you can use go with the iPad- however, if you can’t use the PC at all when you’re attending University, you should go with the laptop as you need a computer.

Unfortunately, the iPad Pro doesn’t support IDEs 😔

ipad has a lot of SSH apps, so you could theoretically code/compile/build/deploy any production app (node, java, python, whatever) you want from *just* the ipad (can use a raspberry pi or ec2 machine to ssh into + vim), as long as you have network access and anything done in an IDE can be done from the shell

I will sometimes use it for terms/vocabulary and specific things I need to remember for exams related to languages

How many of these apps are exportable? We’ve all been stung a few times by apps becoming dead projects and having no way to export the information. For example I think roam has no export option, so if the product dies you would have to manually export every markdown file manually.
