I hope it's been said before, but major props to the video team who shoots and edits these! Incredible production always from the Holt's channel. All the "spots" are killer whiskeys. Slainte, Anthony!
My birthday is St Patrick's Day so for my birthday weekend I had to have some special Irish stuff. Last night I had Tullamore DEW with a Filthy Hooligan Shamrock and it was awesome
Anthony.. you are a wizard.. as I am new to the cigar smoking I have been trying to find my cigar yet. I found it now i have tried it right after this video and really liked Oliva Melanio Maduro.. will definetly visit your location when I visit Philly later this year
Mazz, Another great video. I have a bottle of blue spot before me and must try the yellow. If I only had a "trust fund" ! One thing I notice in your videos is that you NEVER add a drop of water to your spirit. Until you do you shall never know the whiskys ( eys ) true possibilities. None the less, keep up the good work and slainthe from the Big Sky country. JZ
Totally agree with the pairing of yellow spot. The cask that really makes it stand out from other whiskies is in fact the Málaga cask itself. The reason for that is that he cask itself is narrower than other types of casks and the effect of the wood makes it rather potent with the flavour profile that you described. Therefore I would recommend to try and get your hands on the yellow spot 13 which is a single cask, cask strength only matured in bourbon and malaga casks. Really strong and absolutely beautiful whiskey, a collectors edition. Recommended to pair with a maduro once again, ideally cask aged if possible.
Very tough to top my Macallen to pair with almost anything. Again with these Sherry casks🤷🏻♂️. That’s fine but I’m also finding the Japanese whiskeys that are out are definitely giving the old dogs a run for their money. Thanks Ant!
What cigars can we smoke and pair with Jim Bean or Jack Daniels understanding some cigar smokers sometimes are on a limited budget... can Anthony and Holts cigar's provide information?
What Irish Whiskeys have you tried? Yellow Spot is fantastic. The more affordable Green Spot has green apple notes that lean towards caramel with some cigar pairings. Redbreast 12 is wonderful and leans into red fruit. It's a bit more mild at 80 proof but definitely try Redbreast 12.
