I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ru-vid.comUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.
I just got the z545R and coming from a z355E that is 11 years old blew my mind on how nice this new mower is. I was just gonna get a z530M with a 54" deck but the dealer sold it out from under me. So I went to another one that had the z545R with a 60" deck and I am so glad the original dealer screwed up. The fuel injection, led lights, upgraded seat, foot pegs and other little things blew my mind on how nice the mower is.
I just got my Z530R last week, upgraded from a D130. Man the 530 is fast as heck! I've only used it once and still getting used to the steering and throttle control.
What about the operation, how it cuts, what problems have been reported? A seat is a seat okay but I want it to cut grass its a tool period. Oh by the way I have never used a cup holder on a mower when I cut to much dust. Were are the grease fittings and how much oil and air pressure. Deep dive details.
I have to JD zero turns. Z445 and Z535M. The 445 is 10 years old and 535 is 5 years. Both seats are in perfect condition. DLAB White is misinforming you JD seats are fine.
I have a lot of debris that comes from the front of the mower is there any way to stop it? I am literally covered in dirt and grass and get so much in my eyes it's not even funny. And I'm wearing safety sun glasses. Please help! Also I have the Z530M.
Hi Dan, if you are referring to the tightness of the steering arms, they are adjustable (see operators manual). If you are referring to when you push forward on the arms, that is not adjustable, but it should loosen up over time.
Does the 60” deck scalp more than the 54” deck? What is a bigger seller in your opinion and what are the disadvantages of a 60” compared to the 54”? Thanks!
A 60" deck does have a great chance side to side to scalp, but it really depends on your yard. The size difference really isn't an issue in most situations, plus the decks do have the Anti scalp wheels to help prevent most scalping. Both deck sizes are purchased at a very similar rate. It usually comes down to a couple things. 60" decks are easier to trim with and obviously cover more yard in less time, but they are harder to store and get into tighter places. 54" decks fit through gate openings and garage/shed doors easier. Often times the storage and access heavily influence the decision between the two sizes. Most customers that go with the 54" deck either don't need the extra size or trade the bigger mowing size for more accessibility.
John Deere stamps their decks out of a single sheet of steel to decrease the corners and welds underneath the deck. Less corners and the smoother the underside of the deck, the less area for clippings to build up resulting in better air flow.
I purchased a 2022 z530r and is missing a lot of paint. also no quality very cheap light plastic on the flare around back wheels. The quality and workmanship is all gone from what was once a good machine.
The normal price for this mower is $5,799, but currently, at AHW, you can get it for $5,599. This price is for the mower, but if you want to add any accessories, you can go to ahwllc.com and go through our Build N Price tool to get your complete cost as well as current financing offers.
@@dman3349 The pricing above was for a 2021 Z530R with a 54" deck that was also on sale. Current pricing for model year 2022 is $5,999, however, as of today, it is currently on sale for $5,799.
I would strongly disagree with the original statement. My D170 has a Briggs motor with 600 hours and it runs like day one. However, I just placed an order for a Z530R and I’m excited for it to arrive!
@@rossbaiza9369 600 hrs is break in hours for a lot of machines lol. even non commercial ones. 600 hrs is perfectly fine for a homeowner, but not any self proclaimed pro (even a small company) 600 hrs is 2 - 4 years roughly, depending on how much you cut.. imagine 2k on an engine every 2 years lol for the prices of these machines, they should last 10 years
Not to be belligerent, but are you sure the Z530R has a carb? My JD x485 was made 20 years ago with a 25hp Kawi engine and even it's got fuel injection! I sure hope that was a misprint and JD isn't actually still putting carbs in their $6k machines! Update: I watched the rest of the video and was sorely disappointed to see a choke lever on the machine! Hard pass for me!
@Striper Seeker Yeah, total deal breaker. I'm not buying anything new with a carb these days. I've spent more than my fair share of time screwing with carbs, idle speeds, low speed needles, high speed needles, choke adjustments, cleaning out jets, resizing jets, unsticking floats, replacing warped floats, rebuilding seals, blah blah blah and I'm just over it. I'm buying a few year old EFI machine over a new carb machine any day!
