I have a 2011 V100 those Double Coil WVC Humbucker's are brilliant , the only thing I am doing with it is swapping out the pots, but I would not sell this guitar my other one V6P with 3 P90's I am not to be honest overjoyed with M Series Stacked P90's with the feedback when the gain is on, but in terms of build quality solid Alder body with Rosewood Fret Board, it would match well with a nice set of P90's it would be a killer guitar, the ultimate Strat

@@bassfishingwiththeantichri2921 it's the brand name, but when the company started pushing the brand there was no internet like today, your guitar is definitely Vintage, I know the Vintage name has caused some issues with searches and some guitar owners feel the name on the headstock is what matters, but obviously your 62 Strat is in a different league altogether

I have their hendrix strat and it easily has the best neck of any guitar I have ever owned and I am 58 years old and into and playing guitars since I was about 16. To some degree just the feeling in my hands reminds me of a 1964 Gibson SG I had when I was in my mid 20s. Obviously I am not talking about the tone but just the tactile feeling of the wood of the SG. These are awsome guitars for the money. It can be hard to find them online. I got mine in a pawnshop. I had no idea about the company previously.

JHS in the UK (John Hornby Skewes) have been selling Vintage as their house brand for over twenty years - I bought one when they first started and reviewed it on Harmony Central..... eons ago. P.S. "Vantage" was a brand from the old Matsumoku factory in Japan - the name was sold to Samick in Korea after the japanese factory fire. - The Japanese ones are epic and the Korean ones solid decent kit. Have fun

I’ve seen these guitars a lot on reverb and was always curious how good they were, not bad for the price and they offer at least 6 to 8 models left-handed which is 5 more models than Charvel or Jackson offer, just wish they offered that strat style guitar with the humbucker in it left-handed but I appreciate them giving us a variety unlike a lot of big name companies

I’ve had a vintage V6, Thomas Blug strat that has some pretty trick wiring in it also from the factory. It’s a copy of a 61 Strat. I love it plays beautiful..My only complaint with vintage guitars is I wish they’d used a harder nickel in their frets seem to be wearing the frets out kinda quickly. They’ve been around for quite a while, I totally get where you’re coming from with the name though. Great review as always keep it up and thanks

I’ve had 3 of these 2 strats and a “lemon drop” relic’d Les Paul. All were great guitars (that I eventually got rid of to get the “real thing”. They all played and sounded great. I had 2 V6 and at the same time a mim player strat. I never touched the player strat again once I got the v6’s. They just felt and sounded so much better than the player strat. That said, I would never buy one of these new. You can get them all day long for $200-$300 bucks. If you buy a new one for $599, the minute you take it out of the box it’s worth $300. The player strat I bought as a floor demo, kept it for 2 years and sold it for a little more than I paid for it. So, my only advice is get a used one.

I’ve had a few Vintage models for years (V100 lemon drop and V100 gold top with P90s, an original V60 that got them in trouble with Gibson and the redesigned model). I’ve also sold a ton, as they set up beautifully, as they’re basically well made budget guitars. The Icon series is a step up in quality. Always, when the quantity of demand and production rises, the quality of the more reasonable priced instruments goes down. Happened before, happens right now with brands (i could name a few) and imo it's hard to expect the opposite ;)

I have previously owned 2 further VInage guitars, the V6 JMH (which I sold to someone learning as their first electric) and an AV6 (excellent guitar I should never have sold). Vintage guitars are superb, I always buy one before buying a Fender because I just can't bring myself to pay for the name. The V58JD is so good it completely negated my intense dislike of Tele's! Really glad to see you featuring these guitars and yes, the name could be better ;)

Vintage guitars have been around for many years here in the Uk, they are distributed by JHS. If you can find an older sample with genuine Wlikinson parts they are a serious affordable alternative to Fenders crazy priced samples that players go for. Be wary of the more recent samples, Trevor Wilkinson no longer visits the factory and an alarming quantity are available on ebay with cosmetic defects, but a lot have cracks at the neck pocket, inspect before you buy. Find a good one, and for the price they will give any Fender a hard time beating it.

I have a Vintage V6 icon SSS strat and it sounds better than any sub 1.5k Fender I’ve tried in a store. The finish and attention to detail was in some places sloppy, with a nut that stuck out a bit and some paint on the neck that needed sanding, but after fixing those things the guitar is smooth and much more inspiring than its Squier or MIM strat counterparts. It made me love strats again -- the neck pickup nails it, and the bridge pickup is highly usable and versatile thanks to it having its own dedicated tone knob (no more ice-pick tone unless you want it). HOWEVER, the quality control on these guitars is extremely variable, so I would recommend only buying these guitars either a) from an online store with its own strict QC, or b) after seeing the actual guitar first. I once went to a store that had 3 Vintage T-style guitars and 2 Vintage strats: the T-style guitars didn’t feel that good and one of the strats was embarrassingly badly put together, while the other strat was the BEST strat I’ve ever played in a store, beautifully finished, very stratty and perfect in every way (and the same price as all the others, go figure). I also just tried a Vintage T-style in the used section of a Guitar Center and it was more inspiring to me than any of the Fenders (or other guitars I tried in that store, period), and I’m strongly considering going back and buying it, even though I don't normally like teles. As another RU-vidr has said, they make the best guitars for the money and the worst guitars for the money - definitely worth checking out and worth the risk to get a good one.

Sounds good. I have a Wilkinson trem with the cold rolled steel block in my partscaster - I have no complaints, it sounds really good. And the machine heads as well.

I have three Vintage (Brand) guitars, Les Paul with Zebra Humbuckers, V6H and a Midge Ure Signature with P90's. Pretty hard to find in Germany, but I love them all! Doing the hell of a job, always reliable, killer tone. They will be used for most of our recording.

You sounded really good on that “Vintage Guitar”. They thought they would get a lot of publicity because of that name. I never heard of them.

Those guitars totally channel Ritchie Blackmore. Very cool sounding.

Wilkinson sound incredible. I purchased a Wilkinson loaded pickguard (tortoise shell) and the "classic strat" tone seriously impresses! bought it to refurb a older squire strat and the SSS are amazing. I have a Vox digital amp and to push the strat tones I use a zakk wylde over drive with the volume all the way up and the gain rolled all the way off. I can manage sounds very similar to SRV 'Lenny' from the album. Cant go wrong with the Wilkin. Absolutely best for the money.

The "Vintage" brand has been big here in the U.K for over 20 years now, and are probably the biggest "home grown" guitar brand available here. They are for sale in many shops in the U.K, and have quite a lot of famous endorsees and users, including Thomas Blug, Geoff Whitehorn, Jerry Donahue, Carry Martin, Paul Brett, Gordon Giltrap, and Midge Ure. Ive had many, and never had a bad one. Unlike Gibson and Fender. Ive currently got a Vintage VS6, which is like an SG, and I can honestly say it is a BETTER guitar than the last Gibson SG I had. Mine was made in Vietnam (...cue American chuckles), and the fit and finish is perfect.

No chuckling here. You're right. These are great instruments. Also, it doesn't matter where a guitar is built, as long as the people building them know what they're doing. As a long time player, modder, and builder, my favorite guitars come from south Korea.

@@randymiles904 Korean stuff is great. Very clearly on another level than majority of Chinese made guitars.

Hi guitar 🎸 max lefty Jeff here from sheldon Birmingham England. I recently bought a left handed relic vintage, the same one you are playing now. The guitar is fantastic and well put together. And I only paid £320 British pounds. Excellent guitar sounding. Cheers always watch your videos. Keep on rocking 😎 from lefty Jeff.

I have heard about this brand and seen some advertised online but I just thought they were another cheap knockoff brand. I enjoyed your video. I know Wilkinson have some great, high quality part's and your video demonstrates how good they are. I will definitely check into the brand more. I agree that the name is confusing but I was assuming that it's intentions were to build their own guitar's with vintage specs and some upgrades too! Great video.

I own a few ‘vintage’ brand guitars with the Wilkinson hardware I’ve gigged with all of them always very reliable. I also have a couple of Fret King guitars which are kind of like the high end versions of Vintage one is made in Korea the other is handmade in the UK. Fret King are easily comparable to Fender and Gibson
