Today I create the best LEGO Train Track!! Now I want to convert all my tacks! Using the L-Guage Standard is the way to go. It combines regular RC track, a ton of parts, MILS plates, and combines them into an amazing system. Find all the info you need on their website! l-gauge.org/wiki/index.php?tit...

I have a suggestion for the city. You should make a mine underneath the table. Basically blend it in with top, have a couple trails that are going down into the mine and blend it really nice. Maybe put a battery operated lights down down there as well

Love the new train tracks! I’m not sure if anyone else agrees but I personally would love to see the train tracks in the theme park be more like tram lines, like how they are beside the cinema city centre!

Hello Bricksie!! I love your ballast train track, the straight and the curved are good, but the track beside the rainbow pillar, you can make a tunnel, if it's a big challenge to blend in with the landscape. Have a good day!!😁

From what ive heard about ballasting lego track, often lego train groups will do big bulk orders of stuff which might save some cash for you in the long run and make ordering the parts easier. So part intensive. Mils is the way to go for cities though. very enjoyable!

The way the economics of Lego scales is scary for people who don't have endless resources. A very niche technique. How much money would you be willing to spend, and where does that money come from, if you aren't running a business associated with Lego.
@vortexico4788
@vortexico4788 Год назад
Hey Bricksie, Go for MILS+ L-gauge, looks so much better. For the straight modules: you can leave the plates underneath the track off and the hidden ones for the MILS module as well. Since MILS + L-gauge together makes 6 plates, just replace it with 2 2x4 bricks on top of each other. Now imagine you are building winter landscape where the track is covered in "snow" Yes that is what I did for a 180 double curve, 2 switches and 2 curves on the other end....
@magnusE7

I have a full circle of R104 and R120. That use a lot of piece.

Planning my Lego City and have a surrounding train track and was very disheartened by how much space the curves take but this is the vid I've been waiting for. Thanks!
@countrabricksbuildcraze8916
Yer the track s take up a hole base plate cas the track go thru middle and carnt add any thing next to them just plants rock s but if the train track are raised like mine the track don't take up. No base plate. And you can add little shop under the train track of park s of walk way parth and much more
@woodreg
@woodreg Год назад
for those who want to do ballast but are put off by the time / parts, try getting pre-made ballast, I got some from trixbrix and it works really well. Even though they're in Europe the shipping is quick (but not cheap). Their ballast sets make it so easy to do corners, switches etc.And they also sell other radius curves, remote switches etc. Yes it's not Lego, but it's not really obvious that it isn't and saves a whole load of time...
@MayoHosko
@MayoHosko Год назад
Have you ever heard of the LGMS “LEGO gauge modular standard”. I believe the modularity includes another 16x32 baseplate on the outer edge. That way if the train derails it won’t fall off the table
@katjasortberg

They look awesome. For the theme park train it would be cool if you build it in half height of the the raised train track, and then build staircase for the mini figures to the station. Then it wound be more like in Disneyland.
@josephharrison5639
@josephharrison5639 Год назад
As for the height difference, yes I’ve seen many real life tracks that are higher than roads beside but I’ve also seen a lot that are placed lower or level to road beside them
@AuttumnDawn
@AuttumnDawn Год назад
Yup. I live in Wisconsin. The tracks are all different. The Switch track in the town over is lower than the road. They built the roads up.
@ArathixFilms
@ArathixFilms Год назад
You could have the amusement park line at a slightly lower level, the same height as a Mils plate so you can create crossings and have it blend together, then use slopes in-between to bridge the height difference between the two lines, would have the added benefit of introducing more depth to the city

The Zoo, Bricksie, can you alter the back wall? Think |/ with the | being the back wall. Break up that straight rock angle. As for that road end with the track? Lift it up on one end, just needs you to alter those side walls a bit or perhaps add in a walkway crossing, since you can, then. The tunnel gives you all you need to slope it downwards, easily, so no problem on that end.
@andrewphillips5771
@andrewphillips5771 Год назад
Looks great. That ballast switch is something I was looking at yesterday.
@MitchOLego
@MitchOLego Год назад
You can essentially take the "map" of the plates underneath the curve (there are, IIRC, 4 or 6 actual studs where it connects not just the ends), and create it across any part of plates to make the second curve. My Winter Village has a 180 degree curve across the top of 5 diff plates, and i just figured out where the pattern sits across them. I then remove just the train tracks themselves separately from the MILS plate.

I’m trying to make a Lego city train yard layout and I’m sad about the train track curves. But im planning on putting 1x1 round studs that are different shades of gray to look like gravel. I wanna do that cause imma be putting a little job site where they are laying the track and I want it to look like they are laying gravel first. Luckily imma go to the Lego store tomorrow with a 600 dollar budget!

What about a train arrival station to the Amusement park which leads to a Park Gate with a fountain area? Then you could have both tracks near each other, and it would be a Beautiful lead in from the track to the park...

@MarcWeertsMusic
@MarcWeertsMusic Год назад
Wow, the ballasted tracks look so much better... 😲 Also, it seems to me that you could lose a lot of the 2x2 plates in the center of the curve without losing any of the stability.
@fathercrim
@fathercrim Год назад
I think it would look best if you sink the track into the mils plates so it has a consistent height all the way around the city
@BrickHQ
@BrickHQ Год назад
It might be easier to make the track go down to the road height before that curve. The curve looks better. Its crazy how part intensive it can be.
@ChilleBruh
@ChilleBruh Год назад
Also, for the Amusement Park Line, think small half-plate modules? Avoid building them in to rides and games or it may be very difficult to reorganize and move around…

Ok I live in Wisconsin. We have all kinds of train tracks. My Grandpa also worked with trains and built Model Trains. Oh look it's Snowing ❄️⛄⛄ Sorry got distracted. We're supposed to have a snow storm over the next 3 days. It's weird. Last week we needed AC. Nov can't decide what the weather should be.... Any way back to Trains. Are Trains in the cities are only one stud above the road. At road level if crossing a road. Now in the country it's different. It depends on how old the line is.

Have you considered putting the new Avatar sets in your underwater scene? I don't know if your aiming to keep the pop culture out of that scene. I just remembered, you didn't like how disjointed the sets were. You could fix them by building a cliff face for the flying sets and put the new underwater set in the coral reefs. But it might be weird with the pirate ship next to it. So I don't know if it'll work. Just a suggestion. 🤔
