Mint created Cinnamon then later the Ubuntu Cinnamon project was created by adopting the existing Cinnamon DT. Mint does a few other things differently from Ubuntu as well. Personally I prefer Mint. @@simonplaistowe you can use lmde if you don't like Ubuntu. There's no point for linux mint to exist I've used it and gotten people on it and it was the worst decision ever.. overrated crapware.
@@simonplaistowe there's nothing inaccurate about what I said. They made a de and it's already available with Ubuntu no matter if it came afterwards but it's there and it's no different. Personally I don't use that crap as cinnamon even on Ubuntu still looks like the mid 90s and I don't live in the past
