Honestly, I hesitantly agree with not buying black shoes if you hardly ever wear black. I have black double monk from Ace Marks and a black chelsea boot Carlos Santos. I never wear the black double monks and I have to force myself to find an outfit to wear my chelsea boots because my ensemble is very reliant on brown, green, and blue. I'll probably sell the monks, but I know for a fact that if I bought the Carlos Santos in brown I would wear them far more often. Black oxfords are a must. But if you'll never wear them, then I would buy a Park Avenue from Allen Edmonds on Ebay and call it done.

Wow!! I just got these shoes today after using your discount code and I got to tell you when I held them up they had this extraordinary aura of a magnificent craftsmanship. I was so excited to have good quality shoes again after spending years in the tropics. The instep perfect, the painted outer soles classy, the rich tanning process that went into the leather is fantastic and because of this I immediately christen my new shoes with a thin coating of Saphir Renovateur and made the leather even richer looking. On my next order I will get the brown ones and have the metal toe plates on them. By the way I did not see on the web site the ordering process for the metal toe plates, Please inform. Yes I will be wearing these shoes like a proud father holding is child for the first time showing them off to other future fathers. I have 3 pairs of Carlos Santos and all I can tell you is that they are amazing shoes. Bought the first pair of CS cap toe oxfords 5 years ago and they still are in perfect shape (I obviously take care of them and keep them stored with shoes trees). Congrats for the video

Black cap to oxford's and a charcoal suit is a classic I love to see. I personally own a pair from John Doe Shoes in black Tannerie D'Annonay Calf and they are very comfortable for the ~$210 USD price for my current student budget in Canada.

I agree with the comment about cheap cemented black shoes. I have a good collection of Goodyear welted shoes and dress boots in brown that I invest in, wear literally every single day, and expect to last me decades... so I'm not new to quality men's footwear. But the $60 pair of black cap toe oxfords that I bought in high school still do fine for me. I think I have literally only had to wear them twice: for a wedding and a funeral. If I had bought a $400 pair that would be $200 per wear...

Vlad, enjoyed the presentation. You maybe able to suggest to your contacts at Carlos Santos that there is an emerging market in Australian capital cities. For the last eighty years Florsheim shoes sold their USA made Imperial range through a national chain of shops they owned along with a wide range of high quality shoes that they made in my State, Victoria. This is just a suggestion, because the manufacturer should already know the status of the Australian market, but it's changed. Phil.

At the moment the retailers, in Victoria, where in the past, women from Sydney came to buy top quality, top fashion, shoes have all been forced to close down over the last year. And Myer Melbourne, that thirty years ago was one of the largest single site Department Stores in the world, with only two stores in the USA larger, didn't have any major brand shoes on display in their Head Office store in Bourke Street Melbourne. It's a long story, but Australia has never had a major Mail Order business and even Sears and Roebuck gave up. They not only tried to work with major Direct Sales companies, but in partnership with Myer and IBM they tried to initiate the creation of the first national satellite network in a vain attempt to pioneer Online Shopping in Australia I know, because an IBM Director, whose cousin was the first Australian Billionaire put me into a joint venture with his cousin, Robert Holmes a' Court, in a well funded strategy to create in partnership with Rockwell International ( Who a year earlier launched the Space Shuttle, that they designed and built ) to create an Australia wide satellite broadband/internet that Rockwell could market to the three quarters of the world, who like Australia, used European communication standards. That was never finished because of the political based intervention of the same ACTU/Union officials, whose divisive action, during the last decade has now closed down the entire Textile and Footwear manufacturing industry in Victoria, where all of the major manufacturers were based. But it's a new world in the entire Retail Sector in Australia, with the acceptance of Online Shopping. But none of them are going to contact you first. This opportunity is Text Book "Sales 101". Good stuff man! Your son NAILED it! I see paid young actors in Hollywood not do as well as he did. Kostas is a solid dude, his shoes are awesome, his service is fantastic and I'm really trying hard not to spend more money on shoes :( Gonna noodle on this for a couple of days. Love the content man! If I end up pulling the trigger on this I will try to re-dye my existing pair of black captoes. They are from Beckett Simonon, they are not impressive but I rarely wear them and I feel like occasions special enough to wear black captoes call for a good pair!

And even tho these look great, I'm still not convinced I'm gonna buy some in the near future. Can't even remember the last funeral or wedding I have been too. Last one might have been 7 years ago or so. And with the present situation, I hardly think I'll be attending a wedding haha! On top of that I have 2 pairs of shoes waiting to be shipped! I think they're just as versatile but I don't love them aesthetically as I always prefer a cap plus the absence of the cap causes them to crease a lot more since there's no separation at the toe when the shoe flexes as you walk.

Pro tip to anyone who already has black cap toe oxfords, you can use the patina service to get a CS oxford in a different color. It is an open channel sole and not on the same last, but it is the 401 showed on the brown austerity brouge (a shoe I own and is a great shoe). Their patina work is stunning.

What's good, my brother? The suit is custom from a company named Kent Wang. They have an appointment only office in New York where you can go and get measured or you can order online and send your measurements through pictures. And yes those shoes are flames, bro. I highly recommend them.

Vladimir, I was checking out a fragrance reviewer attempting to do a shoe suggestion video and it was frightening. He first started off by saying that it's really hard to get a good pair of quality shoes under $175 (I had to watch the video after hearing that because I knew it was going to be laughable). He then proceeded to show his collection of Magnanni (he actually highlighted a pair of navy suede loafers that he said he wore to a formal event......WTF). Please let the gents know that just because you get tricked on the price, doesn't mean you got a pair of good quality shoes.

Can you explain in your side by side comparison of the 445 and 401 last what you mean by “softer almond” toe shape and “pronounced almond” shape please? It’s not so obvious from a viewers point of view watching on a monitor. Thank you.

Sure! Both lasts are almond shaped but by pronounced I mean that the 401 last has more of a true almond shape while the 445 is slightly rounder. If you pause the video at the 10:15 mark, you’ll see exactly what I mean. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the video Vladimir. These shoes are awesome ordering myself a pair of brown now. Unrelated question, you mentioned in a video you don’t use belts. I like to dress well with trousers and nice shirt but for where I work a jacket or suit would be overkill. Do you recommend side adjusters if not wearing a jacket?

What's up, Rey? Personally, all my trousers have side-tabs but I always wear suspenders as I like the waist of the trousers to be bigger than my waist but I always wear a jacket. If you're going to go jacketless, just make sure that the fit of the trousers waist is immaculate since you won't have the safety of a belt to hold them up. In my experience, the side-tabs are more for show than function.

Hi Vladimir... I got these shoes around the same time as you and I gotta say they are beautiful. I just wanna ask you how did they fit? I find them tight around the vamp and also getting blisters around the heel but im guessing this is just the break in period as they really do feel like they fit its just impossible to walk in them for more then 10mins right now? Kostas was amazing to deal with... For my fist pair of black oxfords im happy I chose these shoes im just praying they break in...

Conor D I get the same around the heel area for the first few wears. Wear them around the house for short amounts first and use the shoe trees and they will stretch out a little more :)
