As someone who just scored a 175 on the January 2022 LSAT, I second the 7Sage recommendation. It is an absolute life saver and all I ever needed. It's important to note that not every idea and method was useful to me though. Everyone has a different way of thinking and learning. At the end of the day, you are trying to get the best score possible and you are the only one who is taking the test. If a concept doesn't feel efficient or comfortable, just drop it and come up with your own way that works best for you. I think a big reason why people struggle is that they are trying to take the test how someone else would take it, rather than how they would. My study process involved a lot of soul searching to find out what kind of person I am and how this person would score well on the LSAT. I didn't ever need to write out lawgic or low resolution summaries, but the curriculum ultimately helped me with understanding the fundamentals of the test. If I didn't first have that background information, I never would have scored above my 151 diagnostic.

@fallingoutcast
@fallingoutcast 5 месяцев назад
How much study time did you put in to hit that 175?
@gutar5675
@gutar5675 5 месяцев назад
@@fallingoutcast I got through the 7Sage curriculum in a little under 2 months, then took the November test after only 1 or 2 PTs. I scored a 167 timed and 179 Blind Review on my first practice test, but underperformed in November and got a 160. I realized that my problem was timing because I would consistently score 175+ on all of my BRs, but my timed tests were very inconsistent. After November didn't go well, the next test I could do was in January. I spent those two months drilling PTs until my timed score matched my BR score. That being said, I favored quality over quantity. Some people think they need to do every PT in existence, but I only did about 10.

As someone with ADHD, I had a really hard time with 7sage because explaining the points turned out to 5 to 10 minute rambles for one question. Thats a lot when you only have a certain amount of time to answer the question. I kept trying to figure out when there was a point in a 20 minute video going over 4 questions and it felt like studying took forever and made me more fatigued. I like a lot of the newer stuff they're doing but wont revisit. I do appreciate that they did break down the fundamentals well.

You’ve given me a lot of hope. My goal is UT law, but of course I would love to apply to Harvard and other ivy leagues to see what I’m capable of. I just graduated from undergrad with a 4.0 GPA, and I’m hoping for a great score on the LSAT, but just thinking about the test makes me want to cry, lol. I am great at RC and logic questions, but the logic games are what are freaking me out, specifically because of time constraints. Thanks for the resources and giving me a peace of mind! I know I can do this!

Hello! UT Law is a great school. I have visited UT's campus before and it is beautiful. A 4.0 GPA is excellent stats, you're setting yourself up for success. Logic games actually became my favorite section over time because they are the easiest to improve on. RC comes more intuitively but it's easier to stagnate in RC. You'd be surprised how good you get with a couple months of practice in logic games. Thank you for the kind feedback and best of luck to you!

Happy to help, Stella! Transparency is everything. I have heard good things about Powerscore-it just wasn't a perfect fit for me because I like having some lessons in a video format (as opposed to a book format). I studied for one full year. Here's a link to my video, HOW TO STUDY (Effectively) FOR THE LSAT | How I Scored a 175. Hi Babs! Thank you for this insightful video! It is currently January and I am scheduled for the LSAT In June. In the video you said you went from 7sage to lsat trainer to khan academy. Is that the order you recommend? This has been by far one of the best videos I have seen so far :) Hope your law journey is going well.
@BanterwithBabs
@BanterwithBabs 2 года назад
Hi Nina! Thank you for your kind feedback. I actually recommend the following order: Read the LSAT Trainer and supplement it with drills from Khan Academy. Resort to 7Sage only if you feel like you need a more-in depth approach. Good luck on the June LSAT! Babs

The LSAT Trainer is the best book out there, it's not close. Mike Kim knows the LSAT inside out. Good choice and congrats on an incredible score. I can only dream of scoring that high :( 7Sage is also legit, but I don't think they offer free services anymore, which is unfortunate.

Thank you for sharing your valuable resources with us… they are extremely helpful and life saving for me😂 Thank you sooo much!! Thank you so much! This video was so informational. I am a freshman and I'm skeptical on how long I should study before taking the LSAT. When did you take the LSAT and how long did you study for it?
@BanterwithBabs
@BanterwithBabs 3 года назад
Hello Jocelyn! The amount of time it takes to study for the LSAT varies per person. If your goal is to score above a 170, the timeline varies from 6 months to over a year! There are some outliers that have scored above 170 by studying for 3 months, but this is rare and I would not recommend designing your study schedule around this expectation. I studied for one full year and scored my 175 on the July 2019 exam! Hope this helps, Babs

A fantastic and insightful video. I'm curious about the sequencing of how you used your resources. Did you do it in order (7Sage, then moved to LSAT Trainer when 7Sage was less useful for what you were working on, then moved to Khan Academy), or did you overlap them? In hindsight, is there anything you would have done differently, or a way you would have intertwined the different resources? Thanks!
@BanterwithBabs
@BanterwithBabs 3 года назад
Hi Dan! I used the resources in the order I talk about in the video (7Sage --> LSAT Trainer --> Khan Academy). I pretty much finished each one before moving on to the next one. In hindsight, I would have just read the LSAT Trainer first and used it in conjunction with the free Khan Academy LSAT prep website. Best, Babs
