Darren, in regards to the Alien dying at the end of the original film you are right. The original idea for the alien was that its life cycle was like a fly, also if you watch the directors cut Bret is being turned into an egg and I can only assume Dallas will be the host. Thats the life cycle. What Cameron done in the sequel throws this concept out the window. I read this in a book about the making of Alien.
Great video! It can be tough doing a live alone. You did awseome Darren. So many great moments in these two films. The finale in Alien is so ambiguous. I always felt like the xenomorph was sleeping, lol! I like the idea that is reaching the end of its life cycle. It makes great discussion!
I broke my arm earlier this month, and finally felt better yesterday two catch two movies. Decided on Longlegs and Cuckoo gonna have to put off Alien Romulus for later. Loved both of them.
6.16, Darren I agree with you, if I go to the cinema I take a day off work, as i posted on the Facebook page I was in Cineworld Cardiff 10.30a.m this morning and there was like 10 other people in there with me, nice and quiet and no one messing around.
I'll get around to watching Rommulus at some point. Love the chest burst from Alien amd i love when Ripley fights the Xenomorph in that robotic thing at the end of Aliens. Off topic. I really enjoyed Trap. Josh Hartnett"s facial expressions convey so much.
Dang sorry I missed this one! I saw Romulus last night, fun overall but a few things I could've done without lol. No spoilers, but too many over the top easter eggs, the CGI for you-know-what was very jarring initially. Fede took a chance on the final act, didn't work for me, but I respect that he took the swing. David Jonsson was outstanding, if there's more Alien movies I'd love to see more of his synth, and Cailee Spaeny and Isabela Merced were great. And Fede and co nailed the Xenomorph look of course. Hope it does well in theatres and restarts the franchise with more original Alien stories.
He was a bit on the nose with the Easter Eggs. BTW, with regards to your Best and Worst of, apologies for the delay. Two of the suggestions were a bit too far out for the channel. Would you like to pick two more in addition to Event Horizon and we’ll get to work as soon as we can.
@@TSLMoviePodcastCheers and thanks Darren, no worries. Well besides Event Horizon, and given the apparent success of Romulus I’d also like to hear your best and worst on Aliens or Prometheus! If you haven’t done them already but don’t remember seeing either of those. 👍 Whichever you lads like best to review of course.
Romulus was good. Not great but good. Fede definitely swung for the fences in a lot of ways, but a lot didn’t work for me. I’d rank it fourth in the series behind Aliens, Alien, and Prometheus. I wouldn’t go see it again.
