Great video as always! I’m curious why the back door flush draw is considered so relevant by the solver, given that any pocket pair is a full house. Even if you hit the back door flush, it doesn’t really change the equity of your hand other than it is now beating ace high. But I would think a back door flush would have a hard time going for value given the fact that Zhang has many strong boats in his range, which he would likely check all three streets given the low SPR and being in position.

I watched the 2nd and 3rd day of this tournament and seeing this hand was very refreshing since 99% of the people were playing tight and boring ABC poker with 0 bluffs and only value bets. I think Linus played a couple of interesting hands too.

Great analysis yes. And shows how the players "MAY" be thinking. The hand really does show the huge role varience plays. 99, Tx, Jx, JJ, QQ, KK, AA and maybe 88 are all calling. AK, AQ may call some times. He is beat and getting called on the river so often here. Varience was on his side. Gutsy move yeah. But if he loses this in a $250k buy in. How many similar spots is he going to have to win in $5k buy ins to get his money back. Gutsy but fortunate.

This will not work in a lower buy in event ,even at 10k, like ever.Adamo is not repping much and its an easy call MDF wise with AK on the river.

If a combo calls river >98% of the time I wouldn't describe it as "mostly defending"...

When I play tournaments, I have like a bunch of these types of bluffs throughout. Then finally, deep into it and a nit just calls down with quads or aces and laughs at me in the chat.

If most of the field is playing the conservative side of GTO and shying away from difficult spots. Then he is exploiting them not using gto.

Here is the issue here, (obvious).- Your SQUEEZING YOUR OPPONENT, INTO AQ, OR AK, and expecting that opponent to fold. All pairs will Call. All Jx calls.KQ is folded to the Flop Raise or Turn bet. This deep,(close to the money) the opening ranges are gonna be pretty snug. This was just a play of utter desperation.
