I got X-Martial shorts recently and I completely agree. They're one of the few pairs of shorts that actually fits well with my build. They're good for grappling, just like you said, and they're very flexible. I also like the mouth guard pocket. Definitely worth the price.

It's nice that functionality doesn't have to come at the sacrifice of fashion these days. It was a real thing to pull just basic cotton shorts as high as you could, and than do a death knot in them so that they'd never come down. It's good that times have changed. I still own a pair of navy blue straight cotton shorts bought back in 2008 or 09, and they may possibly be immortal. They still hold together like from when I first bought them while most shorts would start getting holes eventually. Sadly however, I don't think any modern gym would allow me to wear them with the way fashion has changed. I say this however, I will wear some purple Ken shamrocks before I ever wear the fishing pants some fighters do.

I own like 3 shorts One is a yellow no brand and its made from pakistan, i do have a venum brand that stretches and its an XL size, and then i have a red and green short and its an another boxer brand

question regarding TRANSLATION FROM TRAINING TO REAL FIGHT: a couple guys fought mma over the weekend, and 2 of those guys who are really the best during practice got their stuff kicked in a real cage fight. This really shocked me because they do nothing but live this ufc prospect life (visit every hard class, do s&c, cut weight etc). I myself just train as a hobbyist and those 2 guys would destroy me, so I wonder if hobby training is just a waste of time in terms of effectiveness in a real fight. those fighters were in the 0-0 to 2-2 range so rather newbies but still*

my coach makes silly noises when he's hitting and even makes them when I'm striking. I often ask if he's struggling with his bowls?

I love this sparring, it looks like you guys are having a grand old time. Also... Shorts with a Gusset is the most genus idea. I own a pair of dark navy skinny jeans with an elastic gusset. I have no idea who it's marketted towards but whenever I try clothes on, I always go through the motions of a Dynamic Hip Flexibility Warmup and that's how I noticed how flexible they were. They were AU$39.90 and I wore them for years till they stretched out and they ended up tearing at the knee from overuse. To this day I've never come across pants that had that level of ingenuity. Also... isn't it funny how our perception of fashion has warped over the years. Almost twenty years ago I saw men's skinny jeans and though "Man... that looks kinda gay. They look uncomfortable and it gives you such an unattractive silhouette." Now as a 35... 36 (?) year old man-child, the jeans I used to consider 'regular' now look... 'Baggy' and skinny jeans look like the standard norm. Isn't it funny how after seeing it day in and day out, something as hard-grained as regular jeans fifteen years ago now looks 'baggy'. The jeans themselves never changed, but public perception of what is normal seemed to permeate my idea of how normal jeans should fit on a man. If fifteen years ago someone told me I'd be wearing Spats and Leggings and doing Grappling instead of Standup Striking, I'd laugh at them ! But look at me now, I help run a grappling class inside of a gymnastics club and wear long sleeve compression rashies and leggings ! And I no longer take myself seriously. When I was 16 years old I would have been terrified at the thought of kids and students not taking me seriously as I rule with an iron fist. I just wanna say I'm having so much fun now and part of it all is I've been incorporating a lot of stuff from your channel into my training and somehow, at 36, I feel younger than I've felt in years (Albeit still not as flexible as I wish I was) Thank you Coach Ramsay !
